Who's Coming To Lake Anna, Virginia? 2024

fishing user avatarZoff reply :

Here's the Roster for Lake Anna.

NitroFreak and I have discussed "How To" and have a few questions that go along with "Who's coming". So... post here if you are a boater or non-boater. Hope we can get a balance. If you want/can take more than one non-boater on your boat, tell us how many... just in case. If you are like me, I have a 17.5" Stratos and more than two people make it seriously crowded.

As for the random drawing for pairing... it was a thought so we can up the chances of... well... this is a meet and greet. In keeping with the spirit... a random drawing is a way to meet someone new.

Saturday the 22nd is the main day but Friday and Sunday are fair game. I am going to try and be up there at least Sat and Sun.

Boater

  1. Zoff
  2. Nitrofreak
  3. Sam
  4. Traveler2586

Non-Boater

  1. chrisdm3
  2. joleree
  3. joleree's Father-in-law
  4. JSPOONE
  5. ajwhite765
  6. stevecastle
  7. Endless
  8. Eddie

Nobody is getting left out even if I have to see about getting extra boats. Not likely but I'll try. Not even going to leave out non-Virginians. Welcome to all BR members.
fishing user avatarNitrofreak reply :

Boater with an open seat

17' Nitro, I can take two if needed, but like you it gets crowded, I also do not wish to leave anyone behind, if we have any that are left without a ride may I suggest a half day trip, and take the ones that did not get out in the morning, out in the afternoon.

At least all will get out for a few hours, I voted yes to the random drawing.

Chrisdm3,

Very, very nice, that is what we love about this site, people like you make doing all of this worth the effort, we will find a way somehow to have a ride for you if you wish to come.

Well alright then !!!, can't wait to see you also Aj, would you and your father like to be a part of the cookout afterwards?

One other question, you say you are going to be a non boater, does that include your father as well? does he wish to go fishing as well? is what i should be asking.

A suggestion to you, please make sure you guy's read the "Lake Anna meet and greet" post just incase you have any questions, then go ahead and ask any questions in that post you have, I will be away from the computer for the weekend, if your questions are not answered by Monday morning , either myself or Zoff will be sure to have an answer for you.

Have great weekend all !!!

fishing user avatarNitrofreak reply :

Alright guy's it looks like we are getting a fair amount of interest from non boaters here, do we have any boaters that would like to be a part of this too?

BBF man I was hoping you could make it !!!

Good news is that Zoff and I have been talking, we want this to go to areas all around this awesome state of ours, we do not know where the next stop will be or when but we will make it closer to you sooner or later, hope you can join us then !!!

Hey thanx for letting us know for sure and we look forward to meeting you soon buddy !!!

fishing user avatarJSPOONE reply :

What other places do u all have in mind?

fishing user avatarZoff reply :

We have spoken about rotating all over the state... Smith Mountain, Moomaw, Buggs Island (Kerr), Leesville...

As Zoff posted, we want to meet members and have some fun in the process, we have thoughts of a lot of different areas, the ones he had mentioned are only a few.

I think once we have this meet and greet under our belts we will be much more prepaired for the next, and so on, we both feel that this state of ours offers some really good opportunities for some great fishing all over with some really great people !!

There are thoughts I am sure each one of us have on when and where etc...that neither one of us have discussed yet, and I look forward to being able to sit down face to face with our members and discussing the next one, but the objective is the same, meet and greet, make new friends, enjoy something you may not get the chance to enjoy otherwise, and most importantly, bring your family and let them enjoy it as well.

fishing user avatarJSPOONE reply :

nice im looking forward to this. have only been to lake anna once to fish.. hopefully i will have a better day this time around..

fishing user avatarNitrofreak reply :

We hope you do as well, Anna has the plausability that we could catch some decent fish in both amount and in size as well, but she can be nasty stingy with her fish as well.

Will you be joining us for the cookout ?

fishing user avatarZoff reply :

On another note... It was brought up about age concerns. I guess if you have your own boat... age is not a factor. If you are under 18 and have to boat with someone else, you need a parent to come with you so we know it is OK. I can get into detail later but, suffice to say, nobody wants to end up in court because a juvenile did not have permission to go or got hurt.

fishing user avatarNitrofreak reply :

In speaking of youngsters, will any of you non boaters have any saftey equiptment at all?, I will come prepaired to have extras as far as life jackets etc... but you will need to have your fishing licence's in order before we hit the water, the police do check on a regular basis there so you need to be ready.

Just an FYI

fishing user avatarchrisdm3 reply :

Im 24 I do not have a life jacket but I do have a fishing license

fishing user avatarZoff reply :

Whoever fishes with me does not need a PFD. I do have inflatables (2) for each of us.

fishing user avatarajwhite765 reply :

Me and my dad both have pfd's and we will bring them just in case. Also, i have a question about tackle. I know we bring our own rods and reels but what is acceptable bait wise. A couple of trays in a tacklebag or bring lots and let they boater decide when you get there. And since my dad is there I will have permission as I am under 18(I am 17).

Sure thing Sam,

Date= Sept. 22nd

Launch ramp= State park

Launch time= 7am

Time to arrive= my suggestion would be at least by 6am for the random drawing etc...

Cookout= we weigh in around 4 or 5 pm, for the bragging rights tournament, and as you put it, lie to eachother lol !!

Donation= 5 bucks, Family is included for those who wish to bring them, all we ask is for them to bring a covered dish if they can.

As far as tackle goes, one tackle box should be all you will need, I will say that lizards work pretty good there along with drop shots rigged with robo worms, Green Pumpkin, Watermelon Red, Pumkin Seed/Chart, PB&J, Cotton Candy, Salt and Pepper, are all colors that work pretty well there in the past as far as plastics are concerned.

Spinners, Willow leaf, double or tripple blades work well with Yellow/Bruised Bananna, White/Chart or Blue/Black skirts with a split tail trailer

Jigs, I like Natural colors with a little Chart to immulate sun fish

This Lake has a ton to offer, Grass, Rocks and rock piles, Lay downs, Beaver huts, more structure than you could ever imagine, deep cover, Stumps both shallow and deep, it will be hard to cover in a day.

Flukes, Baby bass colors, Salt and Pepper, that should give you all a good idea of what to bring.

Zoff and I have talked about that, I can get the address or the exact location by means of coordinates for the entrance to the park, or I can give you all specific directions.

I will post all three if necessary, How would you guys like it?

Seems like everyone has gps these days except me...still old fashioned map reader I guess or just old fashioned...or just old.

fishing user avatarJSPOONE reply :

probably the coordinate would b best. dont have a gps so google maps is what ill be using

No problem, I will gather that intel info and post it here for your enjoyment...WWWWWOOOOO HHHHOOOOOOOO !!!!

I have a PFD's, and plenty of soft plastics, spinner and buzz baits. Bring your personal stuff, i.e. rods, lunch, drinks, sun screen, rain gear, etc..

EDIT: Is anyone bring family that will not be fishing, just hanging out on shore? I'm trying to get my wife to come, but her idea of camping is a nice quite B&B. My Granddaughter did get her to sleep in the tent out in the back yard one night though.

fishing user avatarNitrofreak reply :

Yes,

My wife and youngest daughter will be coming, I will fish with them on Friday and Sunday, but Saturday they will be at camp, I do not know if your wife likes to play cards or cornhole or anything but I know the wife likes card games.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

fishing user avatarNitrofreak reply :

5 bucks per head for the cookout if you want to eat some meat.

If your a veggie, bring a salad, if you want to bring extra, like a desert or something, or maybe bring me an apple pie...hey i'm all for it, pssst !!!! just don't tell jspoon, there won't be any left for me by the time you get there with it im afraid LOL !!!

While Zoff works on that page I will help out and reiterate the latest,

Meet at 6 am at the State Park boat launch to draw for partners... from a hat or a bowl or from a pocket or something.

At 7 am WE RIDE !!!!!

At 4 or 5 pm we meet back at the State Park to see who gets the bragging rights for what, AND THEN (we can't tell you yet, it's a secret !!!!)

but after that we go play some cornhole, drink some and be merry, while Zoff Cooks all the meat HA !! I LOVE IT !!!

Don't worry buddy, I got a griddle that will work out pretty well for this occasion, I might even let you use it !! HA HA !!

Not denying that fact brother, Gordon is a great Chef, I love his shows, I think the F word is a part of their everyday conversations and must be used at least 3 times in every sentence or no one understands each other...either that or they just like being bleeped on TV.

fishing user avatarNitrofreak reply :

Ok guy's it seems there is not much interest in going to a meet and greet here at lake Anna.

We need a couple more boaters yet, hopefully a few will step up here.

We are going to let you in on a little secret we have been keeping, we were hoping to spring it on you guys when we all got there.

We have some support from our sponsors here on this site that are willing to donate their products as door prizes at the end of the day, among these sponsors we have the following:

Seibert Outdoors

Bass Angler Magazine

JJ's Magic

And our very own Bass Resource

We have been in contact with these sponsors and they have been generous enough to give their products to pass out as door prizes at the end of the day, one special person that deserves a ton of thanks in helping out with this matter is Traveler.

Eric, we can not thank you enough for the support you have given, your help with this has been instumental and outstanding to say the least.

Each one of these sponsors have gone above and beyond the simple things we asked for to help make this day the best it can be, their generosity has been second to none.

Mark at Bass Angler Mag, Mike at Siebert Outdoors, JJ of JJ's Magic, Glenn and Kari of Bass Resource have been wonderful to work with during this time and we can not thank them enough, not only for being sponsors and web site host's, but for being some of the most awesome individuals we have had the pleasure of working with and talking too.

Without these sponsors and without this website, this may never have been possible, we have plans for making this an annual event, with more plans to make these outings a more family oriented outing in the future.

This annual event we hope will make some new friends, and we will all be able to learn and teach a thing or two along the way, in the future Zoff and I have tossed around a few ideas to make this thing better, fishing for the children with games and prizes included for even the youngest of anglers to the oldest of anglers is just one of the many.

So now it's up to you all, this is one of the prime times of fishing Anna, the fish are starting to migrate toward the back of the creeks there and some will be shallow by the time we get there, top water action will be at it's best during the darker hours of the day and will start to progress through out the days as they start to get shorter, just about everything you have in your tackle box has the chance to land a monster, road beds, bridges, rock piles, and shallow structure and cover that have deep water access will once again be active when we take off, so you may as well come with us and have some fun !!!

fishing user avatarEddie-NoVA reply :

I knew something was going on! Either way, it will be a fun outing!

fishing user avatarZoff reply :

X2.

I could not have said it better, Nitrofreak.

Nitrofreak and I really want to see this snowball into something special in the future but the first gathering usually sets the tone. We need boaters... at best a 1:1 Non-Boater/Boater ratio. Right now we are just under 2:1 so it can make for some crowded boats but we will do it. Nobody gets left out. As for the door prizes... every boater/non-boater will drop their name in a hat and we will have a random drawing for the prizes. We cannot thank the sponsors enough other than go to their pages and buy from them... Bass Angler Mag... Siebert Outdoors... JJ's Magic... and of course continue to make BassResource the best place to hang out.

There are so many others to thank...

Traveler2586... Thanks!

Sam... well... he put the idea in my head.

Nitrofreak... the brain of the operation. he took the concept and ran with it.

I know I have missed people and I apologize. There are many who did something to help.

To us local (Virginia/Maryland, etc) anglers... we can thank them by showing up and participation. This was all done for YOU!

See ya there!!!!

I think it is wise to keep the screwy people in one place. No need spreading it all over the place. Would take too long to gather us all back up in an emergency. I think they call those places asylums. Sorry... not PC... institutions.

One more thing to think about, the State Park isn't all that far from the Richmond's BPS, and Green Top Hunting & Fishing; and there's Gander Mountain in Fredricksburg if you would also like to do some shopping.

Cheers, E

Nice job Traveler !!!

I forgot to mention all that stuff was not so far away.

We are still looking for boaters as Traveler has mentioned, we would like a 1 to 1 ratio so all will have the chance to fish all day, we can not handle any more non boaters for an all day excursion on the water with the way things are as of right now.

BOATERS !! If you have any questions please feel free to shoot Zoff or myself a PM or you can post a question here.

It should be a ton of fun with the fishing and cook out, come join us !!!

fishing user avatarZoff reply :

Nitrofreak is right... we need some more boaters to step up. Guys... this will be fun and you get to meet some new people. We passed on the "drawing" for partners. You get to fish with who you pick. I will fish wit whoever I end up with as I look forward to meeting you guys. We could use at least 3 more boaters. Either way, we will put all we can in the boats we have. It's fishing... life is good!

Still need a few more boaters. If you are holding out and not sure if you are coming, just let us know you're thinking about it., No expectation that you WILL come. Just let us know you might. We are going to have some really crowded boats if not.

C'mon Guys! You won't regret it.

I can tell you that if you like this Board, and chatting with it's members, you'll like it even better once you start meeting members face to face and forming one-on-one friendships. We all come from a wide range of backgrounds, but we have one thing in common - fishing. It doesn't matter if you just started, or you've been fishing for thirty years; and you don't need a fancy bass boat, just something that floats safely and hopefully can hold a passenger.

So think about attending the Meet & Greet, I think you'll enjoy the event.

Again, if your not sure about something, never been to Anna, and have questions, please ask. If we don't know the answer, we'll try to find out for you.

fishing user avatarNitrofreak reply :

Ok guys, it's Monday and I do not see any questions.

I assume everyone knows the in's and out's of what is going on.

Saturday the 22nd

We meet at 6am, hand over the money for the cook out, go over the map if we need to, pair up our fishing partner's, and launch by 7am.

Fish until 4pm and meet back at the state park where we launched from for the "fish tales" and to give away some great stuff that our AWESOME SPONSORS FROM THIS SITE has gone out of their way to provide and make this one of the best days ever !!!!

Mark from Bass Angler Mag. with one of the best mags on the planet !!

Mike from Seibert Outdoors "G-man" jigs

JJ and company from JJ's Magic "THE" one and only dipping dye and clear scent.

Glenn and Kari from our very own Bass Resource best d**n website anywhere !!!!

You guy's are going to enjoy what they have to offer and we can't wait to give them away !!!!

Then it's on to the corn hole and the cooking for the choke and puke meal of the century !!!!!

Don't forget to have your fishing licence and everything in order !!!!

Tiger shad spinners, walking baits, Rat L traps, Shakey heads and the Drop shots will be most productive, The bait fish are now at the mouths of creeks and some have already made it back to the backs of creeks.

It should be a good time for all of us, the weather is calling for a 30% chance of rain, and partly cloudy, 55* at launch and low 70's for a high.

Any questions ?

Tables? Anyone bringing a table for the food and plates, etc.?????

Sam,

There are picnic tables at the state park with a picnic area, I am bringing a large folding table just incase we should need one but I do not think we will.

If you need to save the cups etc...Traveler has already made plans to supply the dry goods, he will not have anything to keep any food fresh so he asked to supply those for us, but thanx for the offer !!

Just bring whatever your wife wishes to offer and we will be good to go buddy !!!

To be honest here too Eddie, we were really hoping for more boaters, I wish you guys would change your minds and come join us, we are willing to do whatever it takes to get you all some time on the water and have some fun with us.

You guys are still welcome to come join us for the cook out if you wish, I know it's a good trip just for some food but it should still be a lot of fun, don't forget your families are invited too !!

It is very noble of both of you to give up your seats for others, we understand how you feel and we regret deeply that you won't make this trip, we were looking forward to meeting you both but should we not meet this time around there will be a next time.

Eddie and Jspoon, thank you both for what you are doing, we hope you have a great weekend and we will take some pics for you guys, we want to see pics from you all as well.

Good luck and be safe !!!

Hi Eddie,

If you like, there should be a lot of good bank fishing; we could look over the map, pick out some promising section of shore and transport you to & from it.

If you're going to get a line wet anyway, might as well make some new friends in the process. And don't forget, we'll have some goodies to hand out to attendees; I'm going to through in some home made spinner & buzz baits for everyone. Surprise!!

Had a blast today. I met Sam and rode with him as well was his fish partner. We manage 10 bass and 6 warmouths. My biggest was 2.1. We launch at 7 and came back in around 4. The wind was awful. afterwards we had a cookout at Traveler's campground. It was nice meeting the Sam, Nitro and his daughter's boyfriend, Traveler, Zoff, Steve and his son, and Chris. Thanks to Traveler for the gifts! Thanks to Sam for giving me the opportunity to fish with him and thanks guys for a great time! Nitro your family was very nice and it was a pleasure meeting everyone today.

fishing user avatarZoff reply :

Just rolled into the homestead. Had a great day but I skunked... Windy as all get out. Chris caught but I didn't. Everybody I met made the day for me... fish or not. Thanks to everybody... Especially Mrs. Nitrofreak.

fishing user avatarSam reply :

I think we all had a great time.

It was very nice to meet the guys and Nitro's family plus Traveler.

The give aways are outstanding. I am going to write a thank you note to Nitro and Michael Siebert for their generosity and the beautiful jigs I won in the drawing.

Travelers gave us some of his buzzbaits and spinnerbaits that are beautiful. Can't wait to throw them.

Was fun fishing with Endless. He is a very nice guy and we got him to smile! I am sure Zoff and Travelers will post pics. I will try to do the same.

We have to find a place where guys can fish from the bank and take turns going out in the boats for our next meet and greet. Suggestions?

And special thanks to Nitro for his help trailering my boat. The wind was a major factor why we had trouble trailering it. You guys should have seen Endless with the rope trying to get the boat off the dock so I could start her to get her on the trailer. We looked like the Keystone Cops!

Great day and I enjoyed meeting everyone.

fishing user avatarquanjig reply :

Sounds like you guys had a great time! I wish I could have been able to attend but had previous commitment scheduled! We need pics, especially if Sam said endless smiled!! Lol!!

fishing user avatarNitrofreak reply :

Well?

What can I say, I had a great time meeting everybody.

The first one I met was Traveler, Right from the get-go, one of the most interesting people I think I have ever met, always smiling, always friendly, full of stories that I love listening too, he told me the story of the reasoning behind his handle and thought I was going to LMAO !!!

gophers and cubicles, almost sounds like a TV commercial.

We had not talked 5 minutes and already he gave me something from his house that him and his wife thought would be a nice gift and sure enough it was, the gift is one thing that Traveler and his wife will most likely not think was much at all, but to be thought of was more important than the gift and I would like to thank you both for each.

The next one I met was Zoff, hhhhmmm, what do I say about Zoff? well?...hhhhmmmm, got to be one of the most wired up people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, I thought I was wired, wait till you meet this guy !!!

Zoff, you have got to be one of the most outgoing, laid back people I have ever met, I do not think you nor I have ever met a stranger, our first meeting was like this, Hello Sonny it's nice to finally meet you, Here have a beer !!!

Now how can you not like a guy like that !!!

We are going to have to work on getting you a more refined pallet though my friend, LOL !!

The next ones came in a pair, Aj and Steve, We did not get to talk too much at all but I could tell you two are a class act, really nice people that I hope to someday meet again and soon...hopefully you will let me try out some of that equiptment you guys had there LOL !!!

The next pair was Sam and Endless,

Sam I have to say I wish we could have spoken a little more, you have a great sence of humor and you started our day off with a few laughs, what better way to start and end a day, good job finding some fish, I think your boat outfished us all, congrats !!!

I would also like to say congrats on getting Endless to smile for a photo, that is a feat all in itself LOL !!

Endless, what a great guy and also funny as well, you caught the largest fish of the day, we had something weird going on though, it seems the larger fish had no weight and the smaller fish had more weight, I don't know what the heck was up with that but it definately was weird, hey buddy congrats on big fish and I was happy to see you smiling !!!

Chris, I don't know if you had fun or not you were one of those quiet kind of guys, you said you did, but you did not say too much so I hope you really did, I was looking forward to having a conversation with you but everything ended as quickly as it started, I hope we can meet again sometime and have that conversation and do a little fishing too !!

There will be pics for everyone to see from the trip so stay tuned, but I have to agree, the wind there was terrible, at 7am the lake was already white capping down by the dam, and by 8:30 both of my trolling motor batteries were already all but dead, I headed there to fish an old road bed and some bowling ball size rocks, but with the current coming from dike 3's return port and the 30mph winds I knew that was going to be impossible, so my daughters boyfriend Chris and I tried the rocks over in Valentine cove and had no luck there with anything, that we could keep in contact with, Finess baits would have been pretty tough, then we tried the stumps that were just on the other side and the long point just before that but we just had too many issues holding the boat and almost ran aground several times, so we headed back up lake and found Traveler with Aj and Steve, they were having some ok luck with Senko's but as I had approached Traveler's boat I had seen he was tangled in a line a from a rod off of the near by deck, as I untangled the line that was wrapped around the prop, the line suddenly came loose and the hook caught my left index finger...SON OF A !!!!, oh well nothing a band-aid did not take care of, Chris and I headed around the bridge at Christopher Run and went back into the cove that had some grass and some small lay downs and we found a pattern we could work with, they were hitting spinners off of the edges of grass, we landed two, one about a pound and a half and the other about two pounds, and just wait until you see the other two he had caught, MONSTERS I TELL YOU !!

By the time we worked that cove, my trolling motor batteries were completly gone, we had to stop fishing and go back and retreive a battery from my camper, there went 45 minutes of the day, so we decided to go over to another creek and finish out the day, I tried to fish the point at the entry, it has a few stumps there that I usually get some pretty good bites but no luck, the wind just kept pushing us well away from where we needed to be, then we found Sam and Endless in the same cove, so we had a small conversation of having any luck?, Sam replies, yes we caught 10 with one good size one Endless had caught, and then he asked me the same question, my reply we caught 50, now you can imagine what Sam and Endless thought at that moment, let me tell ya their facial expressions said it all, YOU GUYS CAUGHT 50? Sam, a "one fish Anna" patriarch almost believed I think that we actually caught 50 fish for maybe a second and then asked, really? No just kidding, only 2 buddy LOL !!!

We were going to do the cook out at the park but the wind would just not let up enough to allow us to do that, so we went back to Travelers camp and had the cook out, he had the best site with hardly any wind, I cooked and Traveler and Zoff gave away the prizes we had recieved from our sponsors.

Seibert Outdoors gave us NOT ONE, which is all we asked for, but 6 jigs, I did manage to get a look at these jigs when they arrived at my house, I have to tell you guys I wanted to fish these jigs on Friday so bad I could not stand it !!!

Mike at G-Man jigs, It was an amazing thing you did for us, we can not thank you enough for pitching in and helping us out with this, your jigs looked absolutly amazing and if any of you guy's and gal's out there have any questions about jigs, I can promise you that Mike is amazing to work with and will be more than happy to hook you up with a product that is in my opinion second to none, he has some really cool cosmic trailers that he uses and sells on his site as well, He has a slew of different varities and colors to choose from and he is even willing to help you make the right choice for your needs, JUST ASK HIM, you will see the difference !!!

Mark at Bass Angler Magizine,

Dude your Mag looks so AWESOME !!!

Guy's and gal's this guy gave away a FREE one year subscription to his magizine, and Mark we can not thank you enough either, what you did was equaly amazing, this magizine from front to back is packed with info that will help us all become better fisherman and women, the best part about this Mag is that it is packed, each one has 30 or more articals to help even the experienced angler become better at their trade, 30 articals, thats a ton of stuff !!!

The major difference that makes this mag stand out from the rest is that they are not selling you their advertisers products, they research and write important information about products that have been proven to help you catch bass !!!

You all should visit both of their web sites and take a look at what they have to offer, you won't be dissapointed !!!

Glenn and Keri, of our Bass Resource

Thank you both for helping us out and sending us the Bass Resource stickers... I am going to put them on my boat or my truck I have not figured out which yet, maybe one each,... the line conditioner you sent was an AWESOME gift and you sent a ton of it, enough for everyone to have at least two bottles, that is a HUGE donation there was enough stuff for everyone to be able to have multiple items to take back home with them.

Traveler,

You added to the list by bringing your hand made gifts of spinners and buzz baits and just freely gave them away, and as many as we wanted too !!

They are awesome, I tried mine the next morning, I used the Fire Tiger spinner you picked out for me as I was cooking and fished a lay down, on the very second cast, wham!! I landed a small one but still a fish from a bait made by someone I am happy to call a friend.

Traveler, you are a truly remarkable guy, meeting you this weekend and having the chance to fish with you from your boat was one of the best times I have had in a long time.

Thank you for everything everybody, it was a ton of fun and I hope and look forward to doing it again !!!!

One more person left to thank,

I want to thank my wife for helping with everything, she loves to fish and she knew there was room on my boat to go fishing, yet she stayed behind and took care of getting the food and what we needed for the cook out.

I love ya baby !!!

Keep an eye out for all the pics everybody !!!

post-28162-0-71962800-1348516197_thumb.j

This one was from Friday night, pitched a 1/2oz Seibert Outdoors jig with a touch of chart with some black and green pumkin with a Biffle bug as a trailer behind a log, never felt the hit, all I had seen was the line moving, right at 4lbs, my scale is not digital so I had to get my wife to help me double check what I was seeing since I did not have my specticals on.

post-28162-0-49168700-1348516547_thumb.j

This Chris my youngest daughters boyfriend, the fourth fish for the day, he had earlier caught 2 really beautiful fish but we will get to that in a moment, no scale, just guessed at about a pound and a half, give or take.

post-28162-0-96052800-1348516964_thumb.j

This was our third fish for the day, that's me holding a huge beautiful 2lb bass, isn't she pretty !!! again no scale so 2lbs give or take.

OK are you all ready for the next two?

Warning what you are about to see is two giant fish that may make your eyeballs hurt !!!...they certainly made mine hurt !!

Keep in mind we did not use scales so I am just guessing here at roughly 9 to 10 lbs each.

TAAAAAAAAAAAAAA DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!

post-28162-0-96945100-1348517627_thumb.j

Or I could be just B.S'ing too LOL !!!

BUT JUST LOOK AT THEM BAD BOYS DO THEY LOOK FUN OR WHAT !!!!

fishing user avatarNitrofreak reply :

These are from the day after but I wanted to share them with you because they have my little baby girl in them.

Traveler and I went out and my boat had my wife, my daughter and my daughters boyfriend on it, Traveler and I fished a couple of places and my daughter challanged us to a tourny.

Traveler and I started fishing a hump in Contrary Creek, we struck first with a bass about a pound and a half he had caught off of a drop shot rig on top of the hump, me I just struck out, I do not have any pics with Traveler but we did have some fun fishing together, he later caught one in the back of Contrary Creek just a touch bigger roughly I would say about 2lbs, that one came off of a spinner bait.

This is my little baby girl whoopin daddy's butt.

I really enjoyed having you over at the campsite chatting with the family Friday night, you are a lot of laughs yourself and a stand up kind of guy that I have a lot of respect for, although my posts may not reflect that, we have the same views and thoughts about a lot of things especially when we speak of family, we have had a lot of conversations in the past few weeks only to find out that we have a ton in common with one another.

The job you have should key you in real quick as to whom you allow yourself to trust, even just a little, I do not take that lightly either or trust me, you would have never been allowed to meet my family.

I look forward to our next adventure, either a fishing trip with the families or just a day on the lake, I also look forward to helping out with the next meet and greet, oh yes, there will be another one.

Just posted some pic's in the Lake Anna Meet & Greet album. They're Google Earth GPS tracks of fishing with Steve & Aj, and Nitrofreak. These pic's are something I do as documentation for my fishing logs.

Nitro, I use a Garmin GPSmap 76CSx, which is out of date by now, but any good personal gps would do the same. Garmin were standard issue at work and I carried one faithfully when I traveled. They now have a marine personal gps that looks good, http://www.thegpssto...-GPS-P2386.aspx

I believe the newer boat electronics can also save tracks as well; there, you move the units memory chip to your computer to download the tracks.

But basically you save your fishing/boating tracks on the personal GPS in small "trips";

you then download the tracks from the GPS to your home computer;

then you import them into Google Earth and they show up as you see them in the pic's;

then you can save a Google Earth screen shot as a *.jpg photo on your computer;

next, print the pic's and place them into a plastic photo holder that you can take with you on the boat (I use 5X7);

you can put a 5X7 index card in the holder with fishing log data to go with the pic.

Wish I would have seen these posts sooner. I've been dying to try out Lake Anna. I'm in Woodbridge so it's not too far of a hike. I'm a boater, 19 foot Bass tracker with 115. Maybe next year I guess.
