Lets get a tournament going. Lets take the lengths of the best two fish of the week and and them up at the end of the month winner gets bragging rights until the next tournament (whenever that is).

yea i got no scale neither. i say we go by length, i think i have a soft tape measure at home, if not, i'll take pics of fish next to rod and measure the rod for a ball-park guestimates ;-) it's on! so we got till sunday night then?

You guys are all down in Florida and I am up here in the Midwest, is it alright if I join your little online tournament? My guess is that my total for 2 fish will be about 22" as that is about the size I have been catching here.

I think the only allowable pictures should be with the fish next to a tape measure, I don't think fish of different species should be lumped together, the profiles are totally different.

I agree on the tape. You cant compare length with the two either. I just seen post pics of what has been gotten, and seen mention of snakeheads also, so I posted.

Man, I went out today and caught my personal best of 2013! Too bad I didnt have my tape measure 
, the thing was a monster! It she hadn't spawned already she could of been an 8#, possibly 9#.

Been out twice to a new pond for an hour each trip. no luck the first time and this last time I lost a decent one, had to leave about the time I figured out what they were liking. Gonna try more proven waters maybe tomorrow and Sunday and give you guys a little competition;)

Went out and got a 20 inch. I didn't have my tape measure so I took a pic and video of it next to my pole then measured when I got home. I will post a pic when I get to a computer
I am going to try to go to my HAWG spot in Ponte Vedra this weekend. I don't know if I will be able to with the TPC golf tournament this weekend. My dad has tickets to it so I am going to bring my fishing gear with me and go at some point to some new spots by there then hit up my spot on the way home.

Finally got out this morning to a proven spot. Fished some topwater and a senko, which I never do because I am too cheap but I got these 4" blue pearl with holo/black flake on sale. I know right, some color I never heard of but wanted to try the original GYB. So I planned to use a hard bait mainly, but went to plan b the senko. Landed this beauty, what I believe is my personal best thus far. It was so hard to measure and photograph, my tape is autoclose and only 24" but she was a legit 22" when I had the tape all lined up nice and tight.
Next I got ont that was 15" not bad and a while later I landed this one which measured 21" I believe. On the same as above. I never landed a fish over 20" on anything other than a Grande Bass Rattlesnake and well GYB changed that today LOL
So I guess my top two for this week is 43 Inches

went out to the glades today for a few hours, we got about 30 fish, but all dinks, 2 lbs maybe the biggest... 1 bowfin, a flat on the trailer riding back, and a bad sunburn. Maybe tomorrow.

OK, I went out today again, and had a near-skunk-experience. With only one small bass, all I got for this tournament is 1 18" bass :-(

Yeah I went out this morning with my oldest son. Just for 45 minutes, trying to land him a nice one at my spot but we both came up empty.
I am in for the best 5 over a month.....see if I can break 100" should be fun.

Wen out today caught the same fish I posted about before 20", I know because it had the same marks by its gills. Then on next cast I caught a nice 21" which looked a lot bigger and heavier than the 20".
I am going to go out before our deadline and see if I can get a game changer, I doubt I will because my girl worked today so she will want me to spend time with her and our child. Can't argue with family time thought everything else is secondary

Will a pic of the fish next to something measurable such as your pole work? I only have a pic of my first next to my pole.
I went out last night at 11:45pm in my backyard pond to try to catch one before midnight and just after midnight I caught a nice 2.10 LB I was using a shad swim bait and the fish chased it and hit it literally 1 foot if that from shore. My girlfriend was with me and she thought it was a gator it was one of the loudest most aggressive strikes I have even been a part of. It was dark and from everything that happened I thought I hooked into a 7 or 8 pounder even fought like that pulling drag.

Went out and scouted two new ponds today. Fished the first one with success got two in 30 minutes.
a dink on a rattlesnake and this baby on a popper in addition to another miss on the popper
both are same fish, it was floppy and I got a crappy pic everytime I went to take a pic it would move I would reset, we will call it 20" .....3 so far put me at 63"
Second pond saw and had a couple missed strikes, one felt nice, hit almost instantly and didn't get a good set, never surface. Saw a big blow up too. Might hit them again tomorrow with some different warfare.

OK, my second catch is 20". See attachments below. I took the pic of the fish next to the rod, then measured the rod. 18" from my post #37. So I'm at 20" and 18" so far :-)

I do my best to align the tail with the base of the rod and then photo the fish in a hurry to get em in the water. Some photos don't look like the tail is at the base, but it is.
Next. For scale:
5/10/13 - 20"
5/15/13 - 16"
5/15/13 - 18"

Also, the ones on 5/15 were barbless hooks. I gut-hooked a 14" on 5/14 and it didn't make it...

@sn13, had that same set up, spheros on a redbone for snook for quite a while. Not really bass fishing too much now, but did catch a nice one the other day, I don't measure them but about 6 lb or so. I'm occupied with snook now, had several over slots this week.

thanks! it was funny the way is started off, i got 2 13-14" bass first that I didn't take pics of, thinking i'm never gonna win this thing with small fry like this, then i got a 3rd small one, and i'm like snap! better start taking pics! then the last 2 I hooked were 17 and 20" so yea... and the darn snakehead was bleeding so much and thrusting I got it's BLOOD IN MY EYES!!!!!!! kinda freaking out a bit, don't want to get a eye eating parasite or some nonsense like that...
anyways, fishing was good, and weird. i went for 2 hours to my honey hole canal near my house, first 30 minutes nothing. then all the fish but the last one in 30 minutes. then an hour of nothing again, and on the way back i'm like, ahhh one last cast, and i land a 17" on :-) always good to do that one last cast :-)

It is like that a lot in the morning you will get there a little before dawn and there is a peak time when the light is just right they are on the hunt for 15 or 20 minutes then it is too bright they go and rest for another day.

makes sense. i hit the water at 6pm, and got off at 8pm. the best bite was between 6:30pm-7pm. then the last fish i landed at 8pm as the sun was setting... all on a hollow body Booyah Pod Crusher Jr. frog, my new favorite bait :-) top water action is AWESOME!!!

With me it depends my best 3 go for 63" and if I throw in that 15" I haven't posted yet I am at 4 fish for 78"
Which I might post all things considering, I swung and missed this morning. They were there, didn't bring anything with me they liked, was trying different baits instead of senkos and rattlesnakes, they shunned the pop-r this morning too.
This is a lot closer than I thought! Still going til the 6th right?

I haven't been keeping track of anything and I have mostly been catching small fish anyway so the lengths won't matter. I need to find some new spots and finally make my way out to Ponte Vedra with my fishing gear. I was there yesterday with my girl and son at Meckler Beach. I stopped by my spot, didn't have fishing gear tho, and I saw 5 huge females swimming around in the shallow areas and I saw the resident gator pop his head out the water to see what I was doing then he went back under
It looks like it is a 2 man bragging rights race between Alex and MCS. Keep it up guys and congrats on all your catches... I hope next time I can keep up!

I agree. because last week I only measured 1 fish. LOL the rest were all under 20"

I miss understood too. I had more 15-18" ones I could have put, but figured I could do better within a month. Im fine with either way, but prefer top 5 as well. Maybe next month? Missed one fish the first week then. Got these 2 biggest today, but hopefully can top em by the end of the week. 18&19"

First cast of the day with my new Rebel Saltwater Jump'n minnow in Bone (got them at walmart for $2.50 along with the chubb creek popper, saltwater spooks in chart, black head chart and bomber saltwater long a's they also had bomber saltwater plastics for $2.50 got some mud minnow curltails in pearl/silverflake). It was my only fish, crappy pics it was 20" the marks on the tape, thick black is 12" and red is 16" I will take a nice pic of the tape so you can clearly see the pics. This sucker swallowed the whole thing, I watch the wake following and paused it just opened its mouth and swam right through it just like the whale gulping in Jonah. LOL was a ***** with the trebeles that deep though. I was later light wise then I liked, and for technical reasons I was not at my normal area on this lake/pond.

My best 4 put me at 83" and I am planning on fishing Monday with my boys, Nates first time to fish for bass hope he gets one, and Tuesday with out the offspring.

Replacing my 18" with this 21.5" for a 102" in 5 total
Martin and I didn't have a great day, but we both got decent fish. 5lb and 3lb and a gazillion missed bites.

Fish 1- 17.5"
Fish 2- 17"
Fish 3- 17"
total= 3 fish for 51.5" so far!

I wish I would have found out about this sooner.Ive been killing it this month! I caught 31 on Saturday a few 4+lbers. I caught 11 today in about 2 hours.All of these were caught within the last 3 weeks.

Went out today different spot, around 5:45 it was on. landed a couple missed a couple, spooked a nice one.
Here is my number 5 for the month....
18.5" soooo my total is 100.5"
Looks Like FSTR is in the lead. Hope to get out next week a couple times, then my wife is scheduled for an induction(I love that she sounds like a manifold) so kid number 4 will be here friday if not sooner. I doubt I will be able to hang with yall until a few months down the road LOL

I want to update my stats with an 18" from May 26th, and 20" from May 31st. So my top 5 lengths right now are 20"+20"+20"+18"+18" == 96" TOTAL. I'm not sure if I'll have any time to fish before the 6th of May (that's the end date right?) so I think I'm going to exit this tournament today with 96" total length. Then again, there's a possibility I'll go fishing today afternoon and next week, so who knows :-)
