Answer: There are lots of reels . Level wind baitcaster , spinning reels , but not closed face baitcaster like a Zebco 33 . You can put 100 yards of 40lb braided on most reels . Be careful though the braided line is very abrasive and will wear out your eyelets.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this reel, the Runcl Roraima 3000, she is a pretty one, but means business. Definitely worth more than the 26.95 price tag. I loaded her up with some 6 pound line and took her out to my favorite spot in Surprise, Arizona. The action and casting was smooth. I made over 50 casts without any problems. Unfortunately today it was 110 degrees so not much was biting. I can’t wait to take this reel on vacation in the high country of AZ. That is where she will shine. If this reel broke, I would buy another one in a minute. Thank you Runcl.

I purchased 2 Runcle reels, a 5000 & a 2000...
I just spooled the 5000 with 40# lb braid, and put on my Salmon rod...the 2000 I am going to spool with 10# lb braid and use it on a light trout rod with 2# lb leader..I fish a river with lots of snags..the 2# lb leader makes sense...
The 2000 reel cast well with no slop...the 5000 reel has a little slop in when the bale is triggered..but so does the name brand reel which probably cost 3 to 4 times as much when I bought it 20 years ago. We will see how the Runcle holds up in salt water boat use...

We have purchased other brands that are based in China (kastking, piscifun, etc) and this reel seems in line with them. It was smooth right out of the package. Seems to be a great value. It is really smooth, and adjusts easily> I put it on a small micro mini series shakespeare rod that is like 5'. Just wanted a lightweight, tiny set up for our AZ streams and lakes in the summer months as well. Most of our trout are small, caught a tiny large mouth bass on it too. Would recommend for a quick set up on a budget, or great for kids!

Oh wow, this is a really good reel. I have no idea what RUNCL is, but by God they make a dang good reel. The reel is very well constructed. The full metal body is awesome.
I LOVE the handle. It's not that typical junk handle that most foreign reels have. If you've ever bought a reel off of Wish, then you know what I'm talking about. The handle would have the weird button piece on it as if the handle was supposed to be in two pieces. This actually causes the handle to malfunction and/or break. It has happened to me a few times. Those handles aren't sturdy and are junk. However...this is NOT that! This handle is fantastic!
This is how good the reel is. I use it on a 12 foot heavy duty catfishing rod. If you want proof, check out my channel "Catfish Z". You'll see my setups on You-tube. I have the largest reel setup with 60 and 80 pound test on different rods. The reel helps cast my lines so far! This reel easily handles 20+lb catfish. The drag system is also amazing. I can easily loosen and tighten the drag. Who needs a baitcaster when I have RUNCL? Honestly, don't go spending $200+ for the expensive brands. You really don't need a reel like that unless you're fishing for giant sharks.
