Answer: My husband says the 2000 would be the best one all around reel. He bass fishes too. If you are catching consistently very large bass then maybe go to the the 3000
Answer: The best way would be to match your reel to the weight of the line you plan on using. Too heavy a line on a lite or small reel would not be efficient. Going the other way, too light of weight line on a heavy reel would not be efficient either.
Answer: I would go with a 2000 or 3000 myself with a 7’ rod. I use a 3000 on a 7’ medium. But the 1000 would be to small and 4000 overkill.

It’s a great reel except for one thing. When I open the nail to cast out the nail does not automatically flip back so that I can start retrieval of my trout lure. I have to manually flip it back over... this makes it a longer switch over that made a few of my lures slip to the rocks and snag before I could start the reel in. Other than this it’s a great operating and looking reel. Went back through to read the description and I don’t see anything saying that it wasn’t an auto bail.

This reel is amazing and light weight, it feels like plastic but is actually a light weight metal, the ball handle makes it very easy to grip, and the smoothness of the spool is incredible, one of the smoothest reels I have ever had, I am only 13, and I still can get better reels on the market , but this is a good cheap starter reels.

I bought this reel for my girlfriend's rod, it has a nice looking finish, and the important parts are metal. There are definitely plastic parts but for this price you can't expect too much. The foam handle is nice to use, easy to grab and get a grip. The drag is strong enough for bass fishing. Overall smooth reel, does what it needs to, and happy with the purchase.

Not 13 bearings , I counted 5 plus one way clutch, 2 on main shaft, 2 on crankshaft & 1 on bail, plus clutch which really isn't a bearing. Bail wire is very heavy. Hard to flip bail while cranking. Spend a few more bucks on a better proven brand reel. Wouldn't buy again , I've had many reels during my 50 plus years of fishing.

Overall it has performed well after we fixed it. The 2nd cast the bell flew off. We ended up using super glue to fix it. Kind of cheaply made but we expected that to a degree. For the money buy a Kastking.
