This reel is absolutely terrible. At first, it seemed decent, what with the wide line guide (allowing for leader) and the nice size. Though after flipping the switch back to where drag should return, there was no drag. Even worse, I couldn’t fix it. This reel is not built for fishing.

Got this reel to pair with Ugly Stick Striper using Lead Core Line for trolling. This reel has done a fantastic job for me. The power handle knob is nice and large which makes the cranking comfortable. The retrieval and star drag work real well.

I have gone out fishing once since then and one of the 2 is again broken I think the other will be next Too late to return so I am just out my money. Do not buy You were warned

Works like a champ so far.. Was casting 2lb. sinkers for walleye in St. Clair River at Port Huron.. It handled the outting very well.. 19hours later only caught 3 suckers & a small mouth bass that was 4 or 5 lbs.. I am very happy with this reel.. Going to get 2 or 3 more.
They handled this type of fishing better than other brands I tried, & I tried many including Penn.. For the money this reel was better than most if not all I tried.

Looks good, feels great, has a very small play on the reel handle which tells me it's a cheap reel. I had other cheap reels with this play n still working just fine. Clean,oil, n take care of the equipment after every use n things can last a long time. So what I'm saying is that I just got it and only time after some use will determine the quality tho it also looks well built.

This reel is sturdy and well made. It feels like pretty good quality, works very smoothly, and looks great as well. I have spent way more than this on reels that were not as good, so you're getting your money's worth. I am very pleased with it and I'm sure I will get many years of use out of it. I give it 5 stars.

Great reel for the price. Performs almost as well as my $200 Penn reel. Well built.
MRM : Not A Caster, But Otherwise Smooth!
As others have noted, its not very good at casting. However, if you are trolling or long lining, I have no issues with this reel as its super smooth with good drag. Build quality seems above average, and I would even dare to compare this to the gold penn's I have. I just hope it holds up in the salt water, but I think it will. Recommended.
