Can this reel be used in saltwater?

Answer: Would not recommend. They make an origin TX which I would highly recommend that has sealed bearings. Both are great reels, but for the salt I’d go w the TX over the C.

Answer: No, reel Does not have a clear finish. It will not be white after your first or second time out. Still a quality reel.

Answer: It is not designed for salt water, but can be used. If used for salt water fishing be sure to clean the reel well when done. If you’re looking for a salt water designed reel go with the Origin TX or the Concept Z.

Would this reel be optimal for fishing vegetation with hollow body frogs?

Answer: Yes, this reel would work well.

Answer: I have used this on both fresh and saltwater. Fishing fresh water I used plastic worms and top water lures with no issues. Right now it mostly used for bay fishing and it works great. GC.

What kind of braking system?

Answer: It is a centrifugal braking system. It is honestly fantastic and one of the best I’ve used. Easy to adjust on the fly for changing lures. If you are new to baitcasters I’d highly recommend. I’m not sponsored by these guys, but I own 5 of their baitcasters and everyone has been solid.

Answer: Centrifugal braking that is internally adjusted. Not the best in the world, but good enough for a reel in this price range. These reels will be super loose out of the package, but will need to be cleaned and oiled after a little use.

Answer: Centrifugal. Excellent real. Hard to keep clean, but outstanding performance.

Answer: Internally, it's some type of synthetic disc system. Very similar to the ones found on reels by Shimano, Lew's, BPS, etc.

Were can I get a replacement side plate? mine fell of in the water because its bad made to stay on?

This is a exceptional reel for the price. So smooth and cast a mile. Will purchase more in the future. Only downfall is the paint. Flat style paint. Gets dirty, stays dirty. It’s hard to clean. And I notice too much scrubbing damages the paint.

The reel is great. Easy to dial in and casts far with little effort. I knew before buying this reel that it was white, so I expected for it to get dirty. The reason I give it 3 stars is there is no kind of clear coat on the reel which allows you to wipe clean. It feels like the reel only has primer or a flat type paint which holds dirt.

Great reel for the money. A little noisy, but it's definitely loose and casts extremely well.

aldeureaux : One of My Favorite Reels

Really good reel. It is one of my favorites. Once you get it dialed in, it casts right along with some of the more expensive reels. (You decide if 7 to 18 inches or so is worth the difference in price). Put about 1/2 of the brakes on and eliminate side to side wobble with the tension knob and you are set to go (of course tune it to your lure, but eliminating the side to side usually does the trick). You will be pleasantly surprised. Try one to see for yourself.

This is by far my favorite reel for frogging. Plenty of cranking power when bringing in a fish out of pads or grass.
Casting with this reel is effortless. If you love frog fishing as much as I do this is the reel for it.

One thing to mention is that the reel is white and it will not stay that way for long so keep that in mind.

I put this reel on my profishency MH rod to use as a frog setup. I went with the 8.1:1 gear ratio. It looks great and it launches my frog lures into orbit. Only downside is it boat rashes pretty easy. But form and function are spot on. As good as any other reel I have.

It is what it is , did not handle mono or flouro very well, braid is the way to go with this one, pretty noisy, side plate lock would occasionally come loose or was really difficult to lock. Matte white stains supper easy, thank goodness for Magic Erasers, if you are OCD like myself. It did cast well and farther than expected. It is their middle line, but, decent beginner reel. If you can spend the money on the Inception or Concept Models do it.
