Answer: Mine seems to be aluminum or a alloy of aluminum for the most part. Works great so far. The only con I can find is it has to be rinsed and lubed after every saltwater use or it starts getting gummed up. Good reel for the price tho.

Answer: I personally have the TA 4000 and I go tide fishing with it on an ok ima longitude with spider wire 60lb braid and a fluro carbon 50lb leader the line it supplies is more than enough with its 30lb drag system. If you have enough experience you can catch a 70-80 lb fish no problem.

The thread of the bolts do not match the screws. The screws broke during marriage, therefore I had to outsource other screws. I would not recommend this reel. Not expected.

We have two of these reals and use them in San Carlos Mexico off our inflatable. In seven days they caught without fail, 14 Dorado, and more Sierra and Skip Jack than we can remember. The reals worked like a charm. The drag settings took a bit to adjust and get used to, but for the money these reals can't be beat

Ordered this for a spare pole I had and found that it works, but not well. When you flip the release, the line goes out a lot slower than any other reel I’ve had. Other than that it works.

When I purchased the reel , it came up that I could get it for a lower price. That the reel was new but the packaging was damaged. When the reel arrived the packaging was not damaged. The reel was broken and did not work at all. I return the reel and it took several calls and aproxamently two months to get a refund.

I was delighted to find the reel was superior to expectations; the price was a bargain! The product was packaged well and the instructions were thorough. It was clean and performed well thus far; time will tell. (I don't care for the handle; it seems oversized and wieldy but we'll see if a large fish proves me wrong.)
