You can look at the Salis X casting reel by Piscifun. That was designed for saltwater use. Rinse everything with fresh water after use, even if designed for salt.

The reel is generally smooth and is relatively powerful. If the reel functioned as designed I would be very happy with the reel. However initially, the clicker was always low and hard to hear. Then on about my fourth time using the reel lost all clicker sound. I contacted Piscifun and they responded the next day which was great. They were very nice. I worked with them to discover what the problem was. I took the reel apart and discovered one of the springs had failed. Unfortunately, they said that they could not get me a replacement spring for over two - 3 months. :( and still today cannot give me a date. Will I ever get the springs? Will they work for a while and not break again? Who knows.

This reel was perfect for my channel catfish gear. It is small enough to perfectly fit my Ugly Stik GX2 Medium Action casting rod. First time out using it, I was impressed on how smoothly it castes, and how smooth it retrieves the line. Got the skunk out of it this last weekend and caught a 3 pound channel catfish. An amazing reel for the price, and great for catfish. Will buy more.

I meant to order the #50, but accidentally ordered the #40. I wanted the 50 because of the handle,since I will be using it mostly for striped bass, blackfish and bluefish.
Since I had a trip already scheduled, I decided to go ahead and try the #40 out.

I caught a couple of nice sized blackfish, and the reel had plenty of drag to get them out of the rocks and into the boat.
Also landed a 40" shark with no problems.
The reel felt solid and worked perfectly all day.
Using a bottom rig with an 8oz sinker, there wasn't much casting going on. But I had no problems flipping it out away from the boat without backlash.
Probably still going to order a #50 at some point.

Very good reel for the price. It was a little grinding it the beginning but that’s expected from brass to brass connection. I spend a day just spinning the handle and that grinding went away and it was one of the smoothest reels ever. It’s easy to take apart and work on, since the level wind is always engaged I made it my boat rod, it worked perfectly. No complaints, great product.

I gave it 5 stars cause I love my 40 and 50 size ,super smooth casting reels, i pulled in a 45lb paddle fish with zero issues smooth drag.

The reel is generally smooth and is relatively powerful. If the reel functioned as designed I would be very happy with the reel. However initially, the clicker was always low and hard to hear. Then on about my fourth time using the reel lost all clicker sound. I contacted Piscifun and they responded the next day which was great. They were very nice. I worked with them to discover what the problem was. I took the reel apart and discovered one of the springs had failed. Unfortunately, they said that they could not get me a replacement spring for over two - 3 months. :( and still today cannot give me a date. Will I ever get the springs? Will they work for a while and not break again? Who knows.

And I love the colors. It’s a beautiful reel.

I was mad. But, stuff happens. Now they’re saying “by Friday”.

My reel made it from Orlando (at 9:00 pm last night), to Oklahoma City and delivered this morning before 9:00 am.

this is great : Recommend for ice fishing for lake trout.
I got this for ice fishing for lake trout last winter and love it. I typically get abu’s or sham’s but decided to give this guy a try and it’s now going to be my go to brand. Great drag and very smooth.

I used it for saltwater this is one of the most smooth casting reels I ever had. I have the 60 and I have to tell you I’m this reel right here is a hybrid and you will get the best I have been using penn,abu Garcia, Shimano, Okuma over 15 years this is definitely a threat to all the brands double quality compared to some with half the price I took the chance and I am very very happy.

I have taken this reel out about a dozen times now and works as well as day one. I am very new to baitcasting reels, so that leads to multiple birds nests(trying to get better) which leads me to my one issue with the reel design. That fat black bar on top right above the levelwind makes it very hard to pull them out. I had the KastKing rover that had a bar across that was easy to get around. but that fat black piece, while aesthetically pleasing, makes it very difficult to fix the birds nest.
This is otherwise a great reel and I cant wait until I get to fight something worthy of it.

Bought the Piscifun Chaos XS for trophy Blue Catfish and it has proven to be a great reel. Smooth action, small enough to fit comfortably in the hand yet takes to pounding of a 40 plus fighting catfish in current. Has a great look. Loaded it with 80lb braided line and casting 16 ounce lead. Might get another.

These reels are definitely worth the money the sheerness and a great value for the money. The thickness is about the same as some high end reels. We use them to catch cat fish. And have had no problems out of them. Awesome reel for the money would definitely recommend.

Raymond Binger : Amazingly smooth casting.
This reel was perfect for my channel catfish gear. It is small enough to perfectly fit my Ugly Stik GX2 Medium Action casting rod. First time out using it, I was impressed on how smoothly it castes, and how smooth it retrieves the line. Got the skunk out of it this last weekend and caught a 3 pound channel catfish. An amazing reel for the price, and great for catfish. Will buy more.

I don't like the clicker. I fish a lot and I re bait or re tie lures and put on the clicker. I don't like it. This reel has a button to turn the clicker on an off that slides and does not snap in and out of clicker mode.
Other than that its great.. Its smooth. Its my favorite color. I was going to return it but I like it until the clicker fails then I will be unhappy.

This is my first bait caster. After a little adjustment and some 20 lb test line. It was more powerful than a 808 Zebco. It really hauls them catfish in. The first day out I caught a 12 pounder and literally kept the fish on top of the water while reeling it in. I well definitely buy again.

I needed a new round reel to replace my abu Garcia as my first up reel for salmon fishing. I've been very happy with the original chaos 60 I use for sturgeon fishing so I was going to get the 50. To my surprise they've revamped it and its now the Chaos xs. I ordered the Chaos xs 50 and was very pleased when it showed up, the fit and finish is great. Extremely smooth to reel and holds a ton of line. The spool comes out easily making tying the braid to it extremely easy. All in all its a nice reel, and based off my experience with the og chaos I known I'm going to be happy with it.
