Answer: You are pulling beyond the 22 pound drag rating..... that means the total drag is 22 pounds. Use your thumb to stop the spool if you are in a situation that needs more than the rated drag for this reel.

You can look at the Salis X casting reel by Piscifun. That was designed for saltwater use. Rinse everything with fresh water after use, even if designed for salt.

Answer: The reel can be ordered left or right handed. It comes both ways, but cannot be changed from one side to the other. I can use both left and right, but ordered the right hand and love it.

Answer: No. Conventional and baitcast style reels are not compatible with bow fishing.

I love this reel. Takes a bit to get use to when casting and preventing backlash.

The only con i have maybe its suppose to operate that way is.. When my hook gets snagged on something. Using 65lb braid. When i tighten down drag and tention knob. Its still not tight enough to stop reel from still spinning and taking drag. So I cant pull free from snag. I expected the reel to lock up so i can pull free or breakoff close to the hook. Instead of having to cut off 100+ ft of line. But it doesnt stop turning. I was recommended to put my finger on the reel. Which seems logic but I would think the braid we cut into my nakes finger.

Great value. I paired it with my trusty old catfish rod (I use it for surf fishing) and adjusted it. Casts like a dream. Smooth and quiet. Turned on the bait clicker and it's nice and loud. No problem adjusting for 3oz lead to 6oz. Maybe 1/4 turn of the adjustment knob. If anything goes wrong within a few months I'll update but as of now I'm extremely satisfied and, in fact, I ordered another and paired it with a 7'-6 firestick. This made a great combo for under $100. Again, will update if required.

The reel is generally smooth and is relatively powerful. If the reel functioned as designed I would be very happy with the reel. However initially, the clicker was always low and hard to hear. Then on about my fourth time using the reel lost all clicker sound. I contacted Piscifun and they responded the next day which was great. They were very nice. I worked with them to discover what the problem was. I took the reel apart and discovered one of the springs had failed. Unfortunately, they said that they could not get me a replacement spring for over two - 3 months. :( and still today cannot give me a date. Will I ever get the springs? Will they work for a while and not break again? Who knows.

I purchased the left hand model. Solid reel the only weak point is the clicker is not very loud. Other than that drag is strong enough to bring up the big ones. Casts easily and 100 yard out consistently. I’ll be buying another soon.

This was my first baitcaster reel. Extremely easy to learn. Well made, casts easy, baitclicker is amazing. Highly recommend. I may actually buy another one of the larger size. Ive had a few backslashes but thats on my inexperience not the reel, but they were easy to fix.

I bought the bigger chaos 50 a couple months ago and was pleasantly surprised by the way it was built and how sturdy it was. I spooked with 25 lb mono and got a fair amount on so I decided to buy the smaller chaos 40 for a medium light rod I have. I fish for channel catfish think these will both last quite a while. I haven't hit the lake with the 40 yet but I'm sure it will be fun.

I really liked this baitcaster. It casted smoothly and reeled in some nice fish on it's first use. I really liked the clicker, easy to click on and off during catching the fish. I can't wait to see how it handles the bigger black drums and red drums that I usually target. Piscifun has made a great product and will probably go after the step up after a while of using this one.

This is my first bait caster. After a little adjustment and some 20 lb test line. It was more powerful than a 808 Zebco. It really hauls them catfish in. The first day out I caught a 12 pounder and literally kept the fish on top of the water while reeling it in. I well definitely buy again.

The reel looks fine and seemed smooth. I put line on it and took it fishing... Not even the first cast there was a clunking noise and it didn't want to retrieve the line.. Junk.. Not together right? Missing parts? I don't care what it was.. It was a brand new 60 dollar real that is junk

this is as good as any abu garcia 5500 or 6600 out there. it will be great for trolling for walleye, or fishing for catfish or stripers. big spool. great cranking strength.

This reel is very smooth and works great! Five stars for that! The issue is the size. I assumed it was a full dive reel such as an Abu Garcia 7000, but it is about the size of a ambassadors c3.

Very good reel for the price. It was a little grinding it the beginning but that’s expected from brass to brass connection. I spend a day just spinning the handle and that grinding went away and it was one of the smoothest reels ever. It’s easy to take apart and work on, since the level wind is always engaged I made it my boat rod, it worked perfectly. No complaints, great product.

I got this for ice fishing for lake trout last winter and love it. I typically get abu’s or sham’s but decided to give this guy a try and it’s now going to be my go to brand. Great drag and very smooth.
