Answer: Not familiar with the oakum but it should be a 5000 size.

I bought this reel and was very pleased with the quality to value. Not only does the reel look sharp and feels solid, it cast and reels in smoothly. Get one before the price goes up people. I also bought the 2000 version of this reel and it does have issues but Sougayilang reached out to me to make it right. That is real customer service!

Piece of junk.
I have bought other reels from them and they were fantastic.
But this one must have been made by someone else
The spare spool will not even fit on it and fell apart.
Does not reel smooth.
Will stick with the other purchases that I have made with them.
I will not buy this one again.

Company stood by what they said and the replacement they sent works great.
They stand by thier word and provide service.
I have 5 of their reels of other models and all are of good quality and work great.

I had purchased spoons and lures from Sougayilang and was impressed with the quality. I use in both salt and fresh water. I purchased this TG 1000 reel to equip a spinning rod I recently built. I didn't want to spend a ton of money so did a lot of research on this reel and compared it to many others in its class. I figured for the price I would take the risk and order one.
I am COMPLETELY delighted with the Souyayilang TG 1000. It has 14 ball bearings and is constructed of machined aluminum. The action is silky smooth and there were absolutely no defects. I used it first time yesterday, casting plugs, live bait, and hook and bobber. Its performance was flawless.

I am so happy with this product that I am going to order one of their bait caster models for another salt water set up I am finishing.
All good and thanks to Sougayilang for making great products. I will buy more.

after bout 10 uses it fell apart.i never returned it cause somethin came up and the time expired to return it.it was only a few bucks but.i would go with lews or daiwa. pflueger..that old slogan ur dad said you get what u pay for!!

Purchased the 1000 sz. Reel foot itself was very short. So short that it would not grip up. Sougayilang immediately corrected the issue with a better suited reel. This is the Sougayilang CM4000 Fishing Reel in gold. This is a brand new reel from the ELK line of reels from Sougayilang. This reel is a light to medium heavy fresh or saltwater reel. It is made of high quality components that make it durable yet light. The reeling action is very smooth and it is almost completely silent when in use. The bail is strong and durable and flips with ease. The drag is adequate for this size real and adjusts very easy. I think it would be very hard to find a reel of this size and quality at this price. It can compete with most other high priced fishing reels. After I took this video I put it on a retractable rod, also from Sougayilang, and tried it out in real life conditions. It performed superbly and I think I will get many years of good service from it. I recommend this product to most anglers who are looking for a well made and affordable reel.
