Answer: Not familiar with the oakum but it should be a 5000 size.

I purchased from this company strictly because of the 2 year warranty they state. Within a year both of my reels have failed. I get 1 good turn, and 1 really hard turn. I called the number on their site (which is in Nebraska) no one answers. I have sent 2 emails, and no one has responded. These are now junk reels that I wasted money on.

The reel is beautiful and fairly smooth. It is well oiled and greased. The instructions and parts list show 3 BB's. I found five. The BB's are not double shielded. There is no carbon fiber or carbon matrix pads in the drag. They appear to be oiled felt. There are no BB's in the handle. The EVA cap cannot be removed. It is made to appear as if it can be unscrewed There is no roller bearing; there is a roller bushing. There are no BB's in the spool. The seal on the spool is small with no enlarged rubber seal. The aluminum body is a nice touch. The bail snaps crisply and the anti-reverse is precise. The spare spool is plastic, very flexible and has the same drag washers and pads.

With all these bearings, this reel is very smooth. Adds some bling with the gold colored Aluminum reel seat shaft.
Comfortable large EVA handle knob is another plus. Great value and quality at a low cost. Ideal for Freshwater fishing; panfish and more. Team this reel up with an ultralight to medium action spinning rod.

Read other reviews that said they received a defective product because the screw in the handle was too small to secure onto the reel. Figured that they had to have fixed that problem by now. Well, it turns out that they haven't. Looks nice, seems to be decent quality but it's useless. I've got a replacement coming so we will see what happens. If it has the same issue I will be requesting a refund.
