Answer: I bought these to use for spider rigging for crappie and really like them for that purpose. I don't cast with them and these are not the Daiwa reels that you are thinking of.

Answer: Don’t be mislead. What you see at Academy is Daiwa which is a respected brand. This is a Chinese knockoff using a similar name hoping to confuse people.

TB : Make the break adjustment prior to casting. Set it to the strongest setting and then back off..

I haven't fished with it yet, but have done some practice casting in the backyard. After tightening the break, the real works well.
