Q:

Answer: No. Its medium
Q:
What is the difference between the cs5 and the cs5 pro?
Answer: Their website only shows one reel, the CS5 in 3000 and 4000 sizes. I believe this might just be an updated name change.
Q:
When will the cs5 4000 be back in stock?
Q:
Do you have a cr7 med7'2"
Answer: no
Q:
I ordered the cr5 1000 reel for my husband (a gift). he fishes for panfish. was this a good choice? what kind of rod and string ?
Answer: Yes it's a good choice. I prefer a very light weight for pan fish. Better action. Any decent mono filament line is good. I prefer Spider Wire.
Q:
It says the 1000 has capacity of 110 yards for 6 lb mono but does anyone know how much 2 lb and 4 lb it holds?
Answer: dear customer
Answer: Come on do the math. Check the diameter of your line 4 lb test can come in many different diameters but for the most part a hundred you're just average of the four lb the two pound probably twice that
Q:
Are the bearings sealed or shielded
Answer: To my knowledge, the bearings are sealed.
Answer: Not know
Q:
Bought cr5 7' mh w/ 3000 for 10-12# test. if i wanted 1 size down would it be 6'6 m with 2000 for 6# or 7' m with 3000 for 8#? (for bass and similar)
Answer: I bought the 2000 and use it for ultralight, small panfish which works fine. For Bass or larger fish I would go up to the 3000
Answer: I would do a 7’ medium with 3000. Further casts and still good with the lighter baits.
Q:
The anti-reverse on my brand new cs5 doesn't do anything. do i need to return it?
Answer: If it doesn't keep the reel from reeling backwards, yes.
Answer: Yes
Q:
Is this for freshwater or saltwater?
Answer: I use mine in saltwater. I recently dropped my rod & reel (CS5) out of my kayak in the Florida keys in about 15 feet of water. I scrambled for my anchor and snorkel gear. It was under water for a good 5 minutes before I retrieved it. I fished with it for another 3 hours before being able to rinse it. It performed flawlessly. Other "top" brands I have used can't even handle a quick dunk in saltwater.
Answer: I use mine (so far) only for freshwater species like bass, but the Amazon description says you can also use it for "inshore species such as redfish, speckled trout", etc.
Answer: Works well in fresh or saltwater ..... either way I always rinse all my Reels in fresh water when I get home from fishing.
Answer: You could use this in both, but you would have to rinse it off good after saltwater. ( as with any reel )
Answer: I would use it for both. I always freshwater rinse my poles and reels.
Answer: Fresh
Q:
Cant it handle 60lbs fish
Answer: This is a very nice fishing reel but it might be a little light for a 60 pound fish. Where are you fishing to catch 60 pound fish? I’ve fished all across the United States including Hawaii but not Alaska yet but rarely have I seen a 60 pounder unless it’s the giant grouper or Marlin! Good luck fishing!
Answer: In the 4000 size, I would expect that it would handle that if the rod and line are matched for that type of fighting fish. I have only used it on bass and catfish up to 5# or so.
Answer: I handled a 30 lb red drum and 25 lb lemon shark. It worked well. Drag worked perfectly.
Answer: The 4000 series with the drag properly set certainly could with a bit of skill.
Q:
what size should i get to pair with a medium light 6' 9" rod line cap at 6-10 lbs?
Answer: For a 6' 9" rod the CS5 3000 would probably be a good fit
Answer: For that rod and line size I would get the 2000.
Answer: CS5
Answer: 2000 or 3000 model would work just fine
Answer: CS5
Q:
Are the handle knobs switchable?
Answer: Yes...just unscrew and switch sides
Answer: Yes goes both ways
Answer: Yes
Q:
How much 4lb test can the 1000 hold?
Answer: Dear customer !
Q:
I am looking for an ultra light weight for trout fishing, spin cast reel what do you suggest.
Answer: I’ve used this reel for so many different fishing applications. Now, I’m not sure what type of trout you’re fishing….might be a bit big for Brook Trout. On the other hand I’m sure it would be a very good reel for Steelhead (Rainbow) trout. I’ve primarily fish for Walleye but have used similar reels for trout, perch, and panfish.
Answer: The reel is less important than the rod BUT the CS5 2000 and you will never look back!!
Answer: The CS5-1000 is ideal. I use mine on a 6' UL rod with 4 lb. test mono to throw 1/16 to 1/8 oz. spinners and plugs for trout. It's also my go-to panfish outfit.
Answer: The Cadence fishing reels are very good quality from a responsible company. I use mine on a local lake to catch crappies. No trouble all at. And their matching poles are nice as well and securely shipped in a strong tube.
Answer: Cadence CS5 would be a very good choice. And it's affordable.
Q:
Is this an ultra-light real?
Answer: The CS5 comes in 4 different sizes. The 1000 size is the closest to an Ultralight. The mono line capacity is rated to use the following lb/yds: 4/175, 6/110, 8/90. Thanks for inquiring and let us know if you have any other questions. GO FISHING. GIVE BACK.
Answer: No. Its medium
Q:
Which reel for 4lb-8lb test?
Answer: hello james
Answer: CS5, CS6, CS7 are my favorites. 2000 series would be my choice for 4-8 lb test.
Answer: 2000 would be about right, assuming you're using monofilament or fluorocarbon.
Answer: Number 1
Answer: CS5
Q:
Dose it feel lose on your pole
Answer: No, it does not feel lose on your pole
Answer: no . I have it mounted on a 7 ' pole and it works great. its my go to set up foe catching school bass.
Answer: I have it paired to a Cadence rod and it fits perfectly.
Answer: No not at all
Q:
Whats the best for a 7" rod?
Answer: For a 7" rod I would go with cs5 4000 it's smooth and versatile it can handle both fresh and saltwater species
Q:
I would get this reel if I can get ceramic replacement bearings. What part numbers are the bearings?
Answer: Stainless Steel bearings are much better than ceramic. There is no need to change the bearings! These reels are workhorses! Never in my 40+yrs of fishing have I had to replace the bearings even on lesser quality reels ..... Cadence reels offer high end quality mechanism! It would be crazy to change out the bearings! As long as you take care of your reels ..... they’ll last a long time!!
Answer: Not sure why you would do this. Probably would cost more than the reel itself. Never have replaced bearings in any reel I have owned in over 50 yrs. of fishing.
Q:
When will the 4000 model be back in stock?
Q:
Can the Cs5-4000 pair up with a 12’ rod
Answer: I would say yes if the rod is used in freshwater for pan-fish like bluegill and crappie but if its used for saltwater probably not, you need to balance both rod to reel size the cs5 4000 is a small, smooth lightweight reel I have it paired with a 7ft rod medium action its used in both fresh and salt water
Answer: Are you using this for surf fishing? I have an 8' ugly stick that works great for freshwater, the only problem I have is backlash, the way the spool is designed the line gets twisted up under the spool.
Q:
Is it a screw in handle or a hex handle?
Answer: Screw in with cap on other side
Answer: Screw in.
Q:
Reel is not smooth right out of the box. Almost making a grinding sound. Is it defective or thats just how they are?
Answer: Mine was smooth and silent out of the box and had no backwards play between the handle and reel.
Answer: Hi,
Answer: Defective
Q:
Why does it say 36 lb max drag in the title and 19 lb max drag in the description? Also, are these the same reels in the cc5 combo?
Answer: You do not get 36 Lbs. of drag on a small spinning reel. Has to be 19.
Q:
Which one should i get with a rod that is rated 20-40lb line capacity?
Answer: The CS-5 4000 size is rated for 10 pound monofilament and 20 pound braid. This is the heaviest rated CS-5, or any other Cadence spinning reel, available. You might consider a different reel if you must load it with the heavier line. I’m very pleased with all my Cadence products, but I use them according to their published ratings.
Answer: That’s a heavy rod. I think you will need a 4000 series reel spooled with 30 or more pound braid.
Answer: I think the 3000, or 4000, larger line you want one that has larger capacity, plus speedier line retrieve.
Answer: Largest they sell, but I would not buy from this company, junk. Buy Shimano,or Daiwa, why give the fish all the advantages.
Q:
Why does your spec's say 36lb off drag on Amazon but your website spec 19lb of drag for cs5 3000?
Answer: The correct max drag weight is 36lbs according to the details on Amazon and also the Cadence specs.
Q:
According Candence official web site, max drag is 20lb, why it stated here 36lb instead and after customers feedback it’s still not being corrected?
Answer: Yeah to sell the item fast . My stuff broke after barely using it and never had a snag that might have affected it. It’s plastic. Get one that’s metal
Q:
Which cr7 rod goes best with 2000? Also which one for the 300?
Answer: Try to match the reel line weight to the rod line weight. Then it's all about what rod action you prefer.
Q:
What type of line is compatable with this product
Answer: All types of line are compatible. Select the size of the reel based on how much of each type of line is needed for your type of fishing. The CS5 will need a small amount of monofilament backing or tape to prevent the braid from slipping. The CS6, 7, 8, and 10 are braid ready.
Answer: Any line is compatible, just changes the quantity you can load.
Answer: You can use mono of any strength but normally use fluorocarbon. You can also do braid with a fluorocarbon leader. It all depends are what you are fishing for and how you are fishing! Hope this helps
Q:
Which style should i pare with a 25 year old zebco rhino tough rod 6'6" line weight 8-14 lbs action medium?
Answer: The 3000 model ..might want to update that rod getting a
Answer: If you plan to stay within the lign weight range, I recommend the 3000 series for the extra line capacity.
Answer: The 3000 would be a good match.
Q:
How well can the reel handle saltwater?
Answer: Handles very well in Saltwater! ...... just make sure you rinse them off in fresh water ..... You won’t regret the workmanship of these reels!! This is a high end reel at a not so high end cost !!
Answer: The CS5 3000 or 4000 both work great for inshore fishing. The carbon fiber drag adds some extra power for fighting those large redfish. I would suggest a good rinse with freshwater after each use.
Answer: One of the best I have used
Q:
The 1000 says it's for 4/6/8 line but could it be used as an ultralight reel and be used with 2lb line?
Answer: Yes, you can use 2lb line on the 1000 reel.
Q:
Can I use 2lb mono with the css 1000?
Answer: I use 6# braid, works well, I don't know why 2# would not work, depends on what you are doing, casting, tightlining, it is a premium reel.
Answer: Never tried it.....i use braid
Answer: Yes
Q:
Can this reel handle large fish such as bluefish and striped bass with 40-50lb braided line?
Answer: Shouldn't be a problem at all. I've landed Tarpon in the 60 lb range with 12 lb braid
Answer: You may need a larger reel .... strictly my opinion...
Answer: I would not recommend it.
Answer: I have an ultralight. You would need the larger models
Q:
Are these made in china or Japan?
Answer: Like many other popular fishing brands, our reels are made in China.
Answer: I received my reel from China, but the quality is very good especially for the price I paid
Answer: The box that the reel came in says China.
Answer: It has Japanese parts no sure where is assembled
Q:
Is this ok for salmon and steelhead?
Answer: Definitely, very strong reel. One of the best for the price.
Answer: Sure, get one of the larger models
Q:
Is the 3000 alright for 12lb test? It says "8/180, 10/150, 12/110" but when you look at the reel it only says 10/150. Do they only use the middle one?
Answer: I'm usually using 8-10lb test but 12 should make little difference. You just get less line. If you're fishing for larger fish than that I would recommend going up a size instead. This reel Is a great all around reel for freshwater.
Answer: The 3000 can easily handle 12lb test. It will be able to hold approximately 110 yards of 12lb fishing line.
Answer: The reel that I purchased was a CS5-1000 so I can't answer your question, But I think the 3000 would be fine for 12Lb. test.
Answer: 12lb should be fine on this reel, but Ilike to use a limper line compared to an extra tough line on my spinning reels.
Answer: I put 12lb test on mine and its OK. Beware, it might be a US company but the reel is made in China.
Answer: I use 15lb braid and never have a problem. It will hold 12lb just fine.
Q:
Is the cs5 3000 a good pair with a 6'6 m rod or go with a 6'6 mh rod mostly for inshore saltwater fishing
Answer: Yes. I have a CS5 3000 and multiple CS7 3000's. All these reels are on 6'6" Medium Lights & Mediums. Both, the rods and reels, have stood up to 60# + Tarpon & 10# + Jack Crevalles.
Q:
It says the 1000 has capacity of 110 yards for 6 lb mono but does anyone know how much 2 lb and 4 lb it holds?
Answer: dear customer
Answer: Come on do the math. Check the diameter of your line 4 lb test can come in many different diameters but for the most part a hundred you're just average of the four lb the two pound probably twice that
Q:
what material is it made of ?
Answer: The Cadence website describes all materials used in the reels.
Answer: The CS5 reel is composed of a carbon composite frame and side plates. It also includes a premium, carbon fiber drag system ensuring a smooth and powerful drag.
Product reviews of CS5 Spinning Reel,Cadence Ultralight Fast Speed Carbon Frame Fishing Reel with 9 Durable & Corrosion Resistant Bearings Super Value Smooth Powerful Reel with 36 pounds Max Drag & 6.2:1 Spinning Reel
Eric M : Great reel for the price!
I was in need of a new reel for trolling for white bass and walleye and I randomly came across this one and decided to give it a try. It was priced pretty well for the 2000 size and I have always been a fan of black reels instead of chrome or the newer colored reels. I took this out for the first time a few days ago loaded up with 10lb monofilament to a local lake to try it out and get a line wet. This reel casts for a dang MILE! It handles 2-3lb bass with ease and the drag is very easy to adjust. When I first spooled it up, the line was gathering more at the bottom of the spool than the top but Cadence includes spare spool washers and instructions on how to fix this if it happens. I removed one of the washers that came included on the reel and that fixed the issue.
Predator : Awful
Handle would not screw into the reel, out if the box. No customer service. Returned to Amazon for refund and then bought Shimano instead, great as always.
DriggNation : 30 redfish day! Reel was clutch!
Wanted a lighter setup for inshore fishing so I pulled the trigger on the CS5 3000 series. Put in on a 6’6” medium heavy and went to work. This thing pulled in 30 big reds and never flinched. Had to really horse them out due to dolphins stealing our fish. Was surprised by the power and light weight. Won’t hesitate to buy another.
Chris : Difficult storage
Feels very nice in the hand, it's smooth. Only gripe I have against it is there is no tab for holding your line. When I store my pole I break the two pieces down and wind the strong up and put the string in the tab on the reel. This one doesn't seem to work like that. It has a small metal tab but my line dosnt stay on place there, just falls out.
Joe Buster : Junk
There's definitely better reels on the market for the money and price wise. I've used alot of reels. The construction feels cheap and the handle is mediocre at best. The reel foot doesn't feel solid. I will definitely not be purchasing another spinning reel or casting reel. I own a casting reel by them and was an awful mistake of a reel. My advice is stick to the well known brands. I'm really glad that I have plenty of other spinning reels that are built stronger and significantly more reliable. As for the spinning reel, it's not worth a penny.
Theresa G : Very smooth reel!
Very nice reel. Very smooth and easy to use. Seems durable.
Niranh Ounkham : BUY NOW...
Just got this reel and it is amazing can't believe how well made this reel is for the price of it. I love especially the drag on this real easy to use for those with big hands/fingers. Took it out last weekend for crappie fishing hook onto didn't know at the time to a monster 30 to 40 plus lbs. grass carp thought for sure my 6lbs. mono-line will break. Playing around with the drag and fighting the fish I was able to get it on land in under 10 minutes before my line break. Customer service is even better I wanted to order an extra spool for lining up to fish for bigger fish on Amazon it say the delivery date is between 21 OCT to 02 NOV so I email customer service to ask. I got an email respond the next morning saying that the date on Amazon is not correct when they received the order they ship out right away and should be receiving my product within 4 to 5 days. Mr. Murphy the customer that I was communicating with even told me to order it on Amazon and he will look out for my order to get it process right away. There's even more of that I find out from Cadence portion of the money that I spent buying their product is going to help put a combos rod/reel into the hands of the next generation through on of their charity partners. It was an easy decision to buy the Cadence reel for me cause the product is well made and for the price and even better was their customer services. Mr. Murphy I place an order for the extra CS5 spool last night as promise and thank you again for your quick respond and assistance.

WHN P. : Not Salt Water resistant - just threw it away after 5 months
The internal components are not salt-water resistant. Five months after using once for salt water fishing I threw it away. The bail latch assembly was corroded badly beyond usability. The spinner assembly also failed. Do not buy for salt water use. Probably okay for fresh water.
Laura Hoepker : Husbands like it.
I bought this for my husband after he busted his last reel when it feel out of his car. He said it has a smooth cast and is easy to reel in. I honestly don’t understand how these reels that are open work, but he does and he says it works perfectly and loves it. Best gift ever.
Brown dog : A great reel
I really like this reel it feels very well made and it's smooth, I caught a couple of bass and a catfish with it and it performed perfectly, there's nothing I don't like about this reel, my friends are all starting to buy your reels now, this is my fourth and I love them all, thank you
Satisfied Customer : Great buy
This reel is smooth. Looks small and compact. Works well with 20 lb test and a medium action rod. Casts well with a 5 and 6 oz lead. Great buy for the money. You won't be disappointed.
Andy : Quality Reel at a Reasonable Price
Since receiving my Cadence CS5 1000 I have used the ultra light reel on two trout fishing trips. I am impressed with the weight of the reel (6.7 oz./which I confirmed on a digital scale) and its smooth retrieve. I caught several trout weighing approximately two pounds and the reel functioned flawlessly. I purchased this reel to pair with a Cadence 7' UL rod and after fishing with the reel for over nine hours, I would highly recommend the CS5 to anyone considering a spinning reel.
Amazon Customer : Great Reel - Better company.
This reel is smooth as melted butter! I have a lot of reels and I am really hard on them - I like to wade in surf, bays and fresh water. This normally kills reels pretty fast, even after rinsing them. I have not taken this saltwater fishing yet, but it has stainless steel, corrosion resistant bearings from what I understand, so it may survive - time will tell. The first day using this reel, I fell down a hill and slammed the reel on the ground and the handle broke off at the grip. I felt it was definitely my fault, and I was willing to buy a handle. I emailed Cadence and once I confirmed my Amazon order, they sent a new handle out free so fast I had it for the next weekend's fishing trip. Great customer service! I'll be buying more.
Barry Lee : Trouble with Braid
Loved the reel initially; now the braid gets buried in the spool and sticks when casting. Never had this happen to any of my other 11 reels since using braid the past 9 years. I spoil the line myself, under tension, and have tried 2 different braids with the same result.
Mike K. : Light and smooth
I haven't used it yet, but its very light and feels smooth.
Theresa G : Very smooth reel!
Very nice reel. Very smooth and easy to use. Seems durable.
San S Siv : Great fishing reel for the price
First off this reel works great. I have used a lot of other brands that are high end and this feels like there is no difference. I have braided line on it and I got almost 300 yards on it. Got some decent fish on the reel and had no problems at all.
Ms I : Not made for saltwater!! Will freeze and jam up!! Ball bearing are made poorly!!
I had written a high recommendation when I first bought this reel. However, this is not a reel to purchase for saltwater. As someone else had written, it will lock up and will snap your line. You won't be able to retrieve the line either. I had to pull it in by hand, take it home and take it apart to find what was the problem. It is with the bearings inside that are freezing up. This needs to be examined more closely as the smoothness of the bearings and size are not fitting correctly. I did everything as instructed when using the reel in saltwater. Including rinsing, and using a good reel grease, but that did not help. I can not reccomend this reel. Buy something else!!
Thomas M Smigielski : Light, smooth , sensitive Reel
Quality reel for what I use a reel for the most, deep 40' ft + jigging in a 8 knot current for walleye. I paid $30 less for this reel than other "quality" reels, filled with braid it is a great combination! I get positive hooksets with this reel, the attention to quality is shown throughout this reel.
Blindal : For the money, great
So far, so good. Used for fall panfish and trout on an UL 6' rod. The drag is smooth as silk, but not as widely adjustable as the more pricey reels. Bail trip is a little stiff, but not a deal breaker. We'll see if it lasts a few seasons. I'll update my review, but for now, it's a great value.
Draekon : $100 reel for $50
For $50, you can’t find anything better. It should be priced $80-100. I would say that it is as smooth as my Penn Battle II. I like the all black look and the spool design is looks great. This reel isn’t for the salt water. It does the job after fishing every weekend so far. I don’t need to worry about my reel and enjoy fishing unlike my $200+ reels.
LaoLao : Great Reel
I have had this reel for a year and am very pleased with it. It's very smooth reeling and lightweight. I had to use Cadence customer service for an extra part and they were great. I will definitely be buying more Cadence products.
captchrism : Durable reel for a great price
I use this reel every week. This thing is a workhorse and does not show any signs of corrosion and is only used in saltwater. I have various other models from the CS4 to the CS10 and have had good luck with all of them. Would definitely buy again
Rebccia excona : The best mid class reel
Lightest and most smooth reel i had so far. With 120 yards of 10 lb braid line it’s weight 6.9 Oz. With this price range, CS5 is outstanding ultra light and top quality.
Ralph F. : Made in China. Nice reel but a disappointment.
Very nice product but Made in China. I thought Cadence was a USA manuf from Colorado vs just an importer. Disappointed. Also ordered two rods that have yet to arrive.
Angela Alvarado : Smooth Reel
Smooth Reel, cast perfect, would buy again.
Justin M. Baldwin : Broke in half on my second cast with a largemouth on. Got the fish, but rod/reel sank to bottom.
Broke in half on my second cast with a good size largemouth on. Got the fish, but lost both pole and reel ripped as line broke on a sharp edge. they both sank to bottom causing me to lose the entire r9g. Very unhappy. Would not recommend at this price point. Very unhappy. Rod Broke in half on my second cast with a good size largemouth on. Got the fish, but lost both pole and reel as the pieces ripped the line and they sank to bottom. Very unhappy. Clearly something was defective.
Dan : Good stuff
Nice lightweight spinning reel for a finesse set up. I paired it with a 6’6 medium light cadence rod. This has been my first experience with Cadence but so far I’m very happy with it. I will purchase from Cadence again for other spinning set ups.
Charles S. Josey : Best reel I've owned; good customer support
I liked this reel so much I bought a 2nd one and have been using them both for 2 years. They are lightweight, operate very smoothly and a great value. Recently, the handle broke on one of them. I contacted Cadence, and they sent me a replacement handle at no cost.
joe giansante : Quality
I purchased the CS5 after I had purchased the CS3. I liked the CS3 very much, I needed a bigger real for saltwater. I purchased the CS5 and it has been a great reel. Light weight, has a larger spool and casts farther. I still use the CS3 and love both. I use them about 3 times a week and they both have held up to the salt water very well so far. Good reels for the price.
Gman68 : Solid and sturdy
Nice quality built reel. Does not feel cheap and no play in the handle due to the fact that’s a screw in direct to the gear. I paired this with 7ft ML rod great light weight set up
James D. Porter : Time Will Tell - Amazing Cast
First, I spooled this reel with Berkley Nanofil 14lb test. I use the reel on the Cadence CR5 7' Medium action rod (that I really like). I use this set up as a surf fishing rig. It casts amazing. The reel is smooth. I love the light weigh and the feel. My only concern: I was fishing primarily for mangrove snapper and Spanish mackerel. The Jack Crevalle run through often and are fun to catch. While retrieving about a 2-3 lb jack, the reel was really flexing and twisting. It affected my ability to reel at times. I slowed my retrieve and it seemed fine. I'm just concerned that catching a large redfish or small shark may break the reel. Its great for the 12-14" snapper and the 14-20" mackerel!
lycanthrope : Hunk of junk, stay away
This reel is a total hunk of junk. Specifically, during retrieve, the spool tends to lay the line unevenly, and too low on the spool itself. This coupled with slack on the line, created a huge buried wind knot within about an hour of use. The knot ruined my day of fishing as it robbed me of a third of my line. I'll be returning this.

Bryan Waters : Great reel
I was very impressed with the spinning reel out of the box. The reel is study and light weight. After a couple of trips with the reel, I'm glad I bought this reel as it casts smooth and is quite. The drag works very well also. However, the bail is hard to flip open, but I expect it will loosen up after more use. For the price point, it beats anything else I've used or tested in a box store. The one drawback was the reel wanted to wobble left/right when I tried to reel in fast. Tight lines!
Brett : Great quality for a fair price
So far this reel has done what I expected it to do. Weight is awesome and the drag really locks up when you need it too. It reels extremely smooth and it feels very durable. Only had it for a short time but I fish a lot. I cannot comment on long term durability of course but I will after 6 months to a year. I have 2 CC5 reels and a light action baitcasting rod that I use for casting finesse type lures. I LOVE that rod. I am impressed very much by Cadence.
Predator : Awful
Handle would not screw into the reel, out if the box. No customer service. Returned to Amazon for refund and then bought Shimano instead, great as always.
Ralph F. : Made in China. Nice reel but a disappointment.

Clay : Rod vibrates upon retrieval
This reel feels solid, lightweight and seems to operate fine when it's not attached to a rod. I've had it for a while and on every single rod I put it on (6'... 6.5' medium, medium light, doesn't matter) there is a distinct vibration when retrieving. It seems as though the line rubs too much on the largest guide that is closest to the hand grip of the rod. This is extremely annoying after a while because it feels like the entire rod is shaking.
jerome nicholas jr : Nice reel for the money
A little smaller in size for a 4000 but lightweight and very smooth, nice reel
John Cassidy : Nice Reel
I bought one of these Cadence reels on sale. I've now used it a handful of times. It is now my favorite mid-sized reel. It has a good retrieve.
Cloggedart : Best Value Reel I have ever purchased
I was a Picifun fan due to their customer service but saw this and bought it instead. I am so happy I did. It works smother and is designed better than my other two picifun reels. Defiantly would buy again. Caught a bunch of fish with it on a Ugly Stick Rod.
Kynthos : $100+ Reel at Half the Price! Smooth and Long Casting!
Got this baby yesterday. First trip this morning was to Bass Pro to get it lined up with some 20lb braided line and then straight to the lake! I all ready had the 2000 series and wanted the 3000 for some froggin' over and through the lily pads and grass. It worked perfectly. Nice smooth long cast and no problems pulling my lures through the weeds. The 20lb drag really helps with this and it only weighs .2oz more than my CS5 2000 series! I have reels that cost me more than twice as much and are nowhere near as effortless as this one.

Nathan Willis : Factory damaged
I went out on a limb when purchasing an off brand like this, and ended up expectedly dissapointed. I did receive the order sooner then expected and was excited to get it unboxed. I did a good but of research on this reel as I'm not much of a saltwater fisherman and only purchased this reel for an upcoming trip to the Maine coast. Upon arrival it came packed nice and secure. I tightened down the handle and started to look it over, testing all its functions out. Immediately when i started reeling I felt it seemed a bit resistant, ok I thought maybe needs a drop or two of oil nbd. Flipped the bail, good there, started really looking it over and part of the rear housing wasnt there? I dont mean broken off, I mean casting was done incorrectly. To the tune of almost a quarter inche rough gap or section just missing at the back plate under the spin housing. While I realize this was a very inexpensive reel I expected more then that. Immediately filed a return order and am shipping this junk back. If your quality control cant catch a large chunk missing from the rear plate, your not a company I want to to deal with. Lesson learned, stick with my Shimano's, Diawa's, Abu's and Penn's. Save your money and forget the fake reviews. Buy something you can trust. I Do NOT reccomend this reel.
Jedaco : Appears to be a quality reel but...
I had to return the reel to Amazon because it had a chip/gouge in the spool. I did contact Cadence with the expectation they would simply exchange the spool but after sending photo's of defect, they just told me to return the entire reel back to Amazon. Not exactly the customer service I expected or was reading about from others - if they just sent me a new spool, I would still have that reel and Cadence would still have a customer.
San S Siv : Great fishing reel for the price
First off this reel works great. I have used a lot of other brands that are high end and this feels like there is no difference. I have braided line on it and I got almost 300 yards on it. Got some decent fish on the reel and had no problems at all.
jacob : Broken Handle on a Slight Snag
Handle broke on a slight snag. Come to find out that it is not a standard handle. Can't find a replacement anywhere. Loved the reel, but if it doesn't have a handle, it doesn't matter. Reached out to Cadence support via there website and haven't heard back. If you going to make a crappy handle on a good reel at least make it standard so it can be replaced! DON'T BUY. About the same reel quality with other brands for the same price and if something breaks you can fix theirs.
you can compare the product price from Costco, wayfair, bestbuy, lowes, target, homedepot, Walmart, ebay, amazon to find the best price for you
