How do you switch between right and left positioning?
Answer: screw the white button on the body, you can change the hand from right to left or left to right

Answer: if you choose AKATAKA rod for L or ML size and fish with lighter line and lure , 2000 is better. Otherwise, 3000 is better for M and MH rod and use medium to heavier line and lure.
Answer: Certainly not the 2000. I bought the 3000 and even that is smaller than I expected. It works fine for me though and I fish mostly for bass. I’m not sure how much larger the 4000 is and maybe someone else will be able to say. I thought I would be able to attach a picture but don’t see that option.

Answer: I had the same problem and had great difficulty figuring it out. You need to pop off the pretty gold plastic near the handle base and you will be able to change the handle from there. BTW, the reel is junk and I returned it. Handle was part of the problem!

Originally I was a little hesitant on getting a reel that wasn't brand name since that's all I've used for 15 years. But after a recent let down from my phluger presidential that I wasted $50 on, I decided to give Akataka a try. And boy did it not let me down. This reel is smooth, tough, and beautiful in person. Just took it lake fishing on the first day of un boxing and on my first cast I caught a 8lb big mouth with 10lb braided line! If you're looking to switch it up a bit and maybe try something non big name branded then I would give this reel a try.

Just received my Akataka 2000 reel. The packaging external and internal was more than adequate for the journey. The reel is sleek, yet sturdy with all the parts operating smoothly. The rubber material on the spool covers most of the area the line ties to, so braided line will stay secure. I will use this for saltwater fishing this week. It appears it will hold up to conditions fine. I will follow up with a post use opinion in the next week or two.
