Answer: Same here, smooth, not sloppy. I like the drag adjustment with the indent which will help keep the star from moving with a real light drag setting. Would like to see one with a little large diameter spool, and better speed control on the free line speed.

Answer: I tried it with a 5 mm tungsten jig, 2 lb test line..it needed a little help, due to its small diameter...I bought another expenive amazon freefall larger diameter spool, and it will allow that same jig to drop like a stone..Im going on a once in a lifetimetrip, so i wanted atleast one real good real...im actually going to buy another, I dont know if I can put the name of that real, but it was sold by amazon..its the black betty,left retrieve...I guess you get what you pay for, but this one im sure will work well, just not as well as the more expensive on...hope it helps

How do these compare to the 13 fishing free fall reels?
Answer: They are very similar same trigger as the free fall,drag seems to work well. The drop speed adjusts well About 1/2 the price as the 13 fishing reel. I own 3 of those. I bought mine for panfish. I've had to use my thumb on the 13 a few times when I've hooked bass and northern to assist the drag. I'll probably buy more of these as other reels wear out.

Just average with free spool being an overrun problem especially with braid. Wally Marshall reels let the line get behind the spool occasionally but definitely better than this reel in functionality and you can buy three for the price of this one. I wanted it to be a light weight high quality crappie jig pole reel. Verdict still out on that but very skeptical.

This reel is perfect for bigger fish with 9.9lbs of drag this is not a pan fish reel with no free spool control its not for micro jigs now if they came out with the free spool adjustment one I’ll be buying that too.
One thing is the release trigger need to be higher it’s at the same level as your line so you end up grabbing line at the same time. I did contact them they said they are working on a new trigger that would make this reel amazing. And in my eyes one of the top reels out there.

Going from a spinning reel to an inline reel is a big difference. No more line twist and free fall is the best. Will drop the smallest jigs with no problem. This reel is surprisingly small but does the job. The free fall has no tension adjust. Have to get use to it or will cause a bird's nest. Learn spool control and it will be your new reel you use.

Descent little reel for the money. My only complaint is the location of the free spool trigger. It is directly over the line so you are always grabbing the line as well. That feature needs to be redesigned.

The drag and free fall are nice. The only problem I see is the placement of the free fall lever. It is so far forward that the line is almost touching it. It is hard to grab the lever with out grabbing the line. With gloves on it would be a real challenge. It could be moved back at least an inch or more.If you look at most of the other free fall reels the lever is close to the handle.

This is a nice and well built reel for ice fishing. The ultimate flaw of this reel is that it doesn't have a change in drop gear. This takes away from chasing fish at deeper columns. This is what takes it out of the league for inline reels. Would not recommend even for pan fishing.

For $60 I’m not expecting the world but I would think bringing in MN jumbo perch (10-11”) shouldn’t be an issue. I had the spool pop off multiple times and have also and to bring line in by hand even more times. I have used this reel somewhere around 8-12 hours, when the spool isn’t popping off it’s a perfectly fine rig, but I’ve lost a few too many fish for my liking. You’re better server getting a low end 13 fishing (for example) in line than this rig.

If you are in the market for a inline reel this is the reel for you! But if you are looking for a spinning reel I highly recommend the Piscifun carbon x! When you get the product it come in a box and a black bag that has the reel inside of it. First impressions are it is a small and clean design. It is pretty smooth and I’m excited to try it out! I have it on a 2b ice soft touch rod! Rods I recommend: 2b ice big nood, little nood, and ultimate nood. Elliott rods light bite 2, noodle lite, paragon, and inhaler! The two rods are backed by Paul and Gregg Thorne and I highly recommend their rods with the Piscifun reels! I’ve never had a problem with any of my Piscifun reels and they have excellent service and all are high quality reels! I recommend you purchase this reel or any other Piscifun reel and pair it up with a 2b or Elliott rod and go catch yourself some fish!

Ice fishing season is approaching but it’s still at least a month away here. This reel is constructed well, very sturdy and seems to be made of good strong alloys. The reel spins very smoothly . Just the feel of it gets me excited to see it in action. Will definitely update this review once we can test it out on the ice!

My first impression of the inline fishing reel is that it feels solid and very responsive. The reel handle are a nice touch and the drop of the line is very good. When compared to my ghost free fall it feels just like it but with better material. Also I feel more confident with this reel if it drops on the ice and don’t have to worry about it breaking like I do with my ghost free fall reel. The reel is also a lot smaller in size compared to the ghost free fall. The reel on the rod feels good in the hand, but I do wish that my hand could completely grip the reel without having to worry about my hand coveting the spool and stopping it from reeling up. Other then that I am excited to get this out on the ice this ice season and start ripping lips with it. I paired it up with my MH 30 inch Berkeley heritage rod with 6lb test line. I am planning on using thus reel and rod combo to target walleyes, lake trout and wipers this ice season. I am hopeful that I will land some good size fishes with this reel and that it holds up. I will update again after I get to use it in it’s element. Hopefully in the future info hope Piscifun also start making some ice rods to pair up with this ice reel. So far I would recommend the reel just from my first impression but will see how it holds up when I got the ice.
