I am a tightwad. I bought two of these for my 4yr grandson. I recieved them and these babies are equal quality to very expensive reels. I am blown away by the quality of reel for such little money. The unheard of 44lb drag is unheard of and they are now on my rods. The grandbaby gets Paps old reels. LOL

The 5000 series reel works great. It casts well and retrieves smoothly, even under load. Line spool is a little small but appears to take the recommended amount of line with no problems and is more than enough line for my needs. I rarely need the miles of line some reels list as their capacity. I plan to purchase one or two more.

Bought two of these reels first one was $15, next day Amazon charges $25, why the ten bucks increase, bit of a cheap scam.

Absolutely beautiful reel. 2000 series matched to my 7' Ugly Stick. The action is smooth. I'd put it up against reels 5x the price. Durability unknown but the inside gearing looks great. $15 is a steal!!

Follow up......put it to the test. Took it to the beach and landed a nice 5lb bluefish on 8lb mono line. I really can't say one bad thing about this reel. Its awesome!!

To be honest, I have only used this reel once, but I am amazed at the overall quality and smoothness of the retrieval. Buttery smooth, nice finish... could easily cost 3x the price and I would be satisfied. If the durability is anything like the initial quality, this reel can't be beat. Well worth the money.
