Questions about ANGLER DREAM AnglerDream 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8WT Fly Reel with Line Combo Large Arbor Aluminum Fly Fishing Reels
Q:
Does it not have a break or drag ? Mine rolls freely both directions
Answer: Mine has a drag and it does not roll freely in both directions. Maybe need to send it back for another one.
Answer: It has a break. You need to turn the large bolt on the side of the reel.
Answer: yes it has drag. not great but its not a $200 real sufficent for stream and river trout
Q:
Does this reel have a drag or brake?
Answer: I have just purchased the 7/8 wt version, I have not got to use it yet but feels descent for the money. The knob you see in the picture is the drag setting. As the reviews I have read on this reel the drag is a bit touchy but feel like it will work as it should.
Answer: Yes. It is a friction brake and adjustable.
Answer: yes it does it not orvis or sage butt nice drag works nice
Answer: Yes, at a quality or a bit better than one would expect at this price point.
Q:
If you buy the 7/8 weight reel, what weight fly line will come with it?
Answer: it comes with a comparable line for 7and 8 w it ok but not the best line go get a better line 8w foward floating line you will be happier field and stream orvis good line is about 30.00$ and up good line counts ...u will know the difference... hope I was some help catch them all good luck
Q:
Has anyone figured out how to stop the sideways slack, about 1/16th of an inch in the 3/4 reel?
Q:
Does the silver fly in a 5.6 come as a complete setup With backing line fly line and a leader why is a $10 cheaper than the exact of the models with s
Answer: Yes. I bought the silver one and it came ready to fish.. with the backing fly line an 12 foot or 9 foot leader.
Answer: I know it comes with backing and a line. Not sure about the leader. No clue on the pricing.
Q:
I don't understand how to go from left to right hand reeling?
Answer: To change from left to right only requires flipping the bearing assembly.
Answer: If I remember correctly, you completely removed the drag knob by turning it counter clockwise, then there will be a "spring" that is hexagon-shaped, holding in a bearing. Carefully removed that spring, then flip the bearing and put it back together gain.
Q:
How much does the 1/2wt reel weigh?
Answer: If you look down on the page you will see a small rectangle that says the size 1 - 2 reel weights 4.2 oz.
Answer: Honestly, I think it weighs the same as a cup cake, super light, won’t weigh down the fly rod.
Answer: It is very solid and durable yet surprisingly light. I do recommend it
Q:
Does this reel look like the angler's dream ex-alc model? or has it been painted silver?
Answer: I don’t know what Ex-alc is I don’t think it’s been painted and mine came right handed
Answer: It is pure metal no paint.
Q:
How do I adjust the drag?
Answer: You tighten/loosen it by turning the knob on the side of the reel.
Answer: Two ways turning the knob on the side of the reel opposite the handle and/or palm the reel
Q:
I got the wrong line what should i do
Answer: if i remember the price was very cheap so keep the one you have and order the line you want !!! the reel is ok i have used it once for bone fish and now a lot for trout.
Answer: I would scrap the line and get Rio or Scientific Angler.
Q:
What color is the backing, is it red or orange?
Answer: Mine was orange
Answer: It depends on which one you purchase. The silver one comes with blue. ( note that the silver reel is a left handed retrieve.
Q:
Is the line weight forward?
Answer: I have bought several of these combo reels and all the lines were weight forward ... one of them was put on backwards but it was a WF - I reversed the line.
Answer: Yes it is. But they give you the option of weight and float line too.
Answer: Yes. But the reel drag doesn’t lock when pulling out line
Answer: Yes, there is a tag on the line. From the end it is thin for about ten feet. Then it gets thicker for about thirty feet then it gets thin again. This....they don’t tell you. Good luck.
Q:
Is this an anti reverse reel?
Answer: It has an adjustable tensioner from free wheeling al the way to anti reverse. See the picture of the reel. that knob is your control for this. When you are letting line out to fly fish casting you need it to have less tension so you can unspool the line as needed. If you want it to be anti reverse you tighten it. You can still reel the line in, but not crank the real backwards and the line will not unspool.
Answer: By anti-reverse if you mean that the drag engages on line pay out, yes.
Answer: No, but the drag can be tightened.
Answer: Yes
Q:
How does the leader attach to the fly line?
Answer: The leader is tied on to the fly line
Answer: Look up on YouTube directions for knots to tie the leader to the fly line. Several good knots you could use.
Answer: That's really not a reel question. Go to youtube there are many selections watch. Go to a fly shop they will show you. Look up a nail knot. Sorry, but if you want to fly fish you need to learn how to tie knots.
Answer: You can use a nail knot or a perfection knot
Q:
Does the line come pre-loaded on the reel?
Answer: Yes with 200 yds. for 8 wt. saltwater line
Answer: No the line, backing, reel, leader are all separate. Have fun
Answer: yes mine came with #3wt witch is ok for pan fishing
Q:
How to change to left hand retrieve
Answer: i think i remember take clip of holding center bearing in turn bearing around put clip back on to secure bearing should now have left hand retrieve counter clockwise to bring line back on reel
Answer: Go online and YouTube (HOW TO CHANGE WHAT SIDE THE RETRIEVE DRAG TURNS ON A FLY FISHING REEL) it will take through it step by step ????
Answer: You fully unscrew the drag tensioner, remove the keeper spring, then flip around the drag gear. Then put it all back together.
Answer: The instructions come with the reel ... quite simple and no special tools required.
Answer: There is a beariñg on the inside that has to be turned around!
Q:
Do you need to weld the loop connector to fly line?
Answer: The loop connector is like a trap It opens up and you chinch it tight. It is not what I expected. I usually have a hollow fly line and a jagged eye pin that goes up the hollow fly line center. Good lcil to both of us.
Answer: I don't know if there is a loop connector (I don't recall), but when there is a loop connector, I cut it off and use a nail knot to connect to the fly line instead. I coat it with nail polish or one of the U.V. cure adhesives so that it slides smoothly through my snake guides. Definitely my preference over loop connections.
Answer: I actually cut the loop off the leader and used a nail knot
Answer: You don’t need to, but that’s what I did. You could just put on a thick mono with a perfection loop, too.
Answer: Yes
Q:
How do you switch the reel from R hand to L hand?
Answer: Remove the spooltelease lever housing, underneath you’ll see a pentagon spring clip. Rotate and remove the spring. Underneath the spring is a white one-way bearing assembly. Remove the bearing turn dat sumnabitch 180•. Return the bearing and the spring clip and you now have yourself a left handed reeler!
Answer: that is how it is done the clip has a break in it, it is not solid. Take a screw driver and use the tip to get the clip started then it should pop out and then you just flip the bearing and replace If they would let you post a pic here I would put one upthe clip.
Answer: You can't I've tied. If you figure something different let Mr know.
Answer: Desarmar el reel presionando la palanquita que sobre sale del eje. Quitar el resorte pentagonal, extraer el rodamiento interno y colocarlo en posicion inversa a la que tenia. Colocar el resorte pentagonal. Listo!
Q:
Dose this reel have tippet line on it already
Answer: Yes. But the tippet line was horribly brittle, and shouldn’t be used. I used it and every fish I caught was snapping the line.
Answer: NO! It comes without any line on it. You do your own!! You do it like you want it. Load on the backing line/filler if needed. The center spool on this reel is large in diameter. You might not need the filler/backing line it. Then just add your floating fly line. Then attach the tapered monofilament line for tying your fly to.
Answer: It has a leader if that’s what you’re asking for
Answer: No
Q:
Is it made for salt water
Answer: I do not know for sure. I tossed the papers. I would assume it is. But that is assuming!! I am a fresh water fisherman in Michigan.
Answer: I do not see anything to indicate that they are made to be specifically suitable for saltwater use (I own three of the lighter weight models typically intended for freshwater use); however, a thorough rinsing after use and periodically coating the gears with a light silicone spray ought to keep them working fine. Certainly a lot more economical option than a "dedicated" saltwater reel.
Answer: Aluminum is not corrosion resistant. But you could use it and rinse thoroughly afterwards.
Q:
I was attempting to swap the reel for right hand crank and managed to lose the bearing spring clip. Where can I purchase a replacement spring clip?
Answer: Maybecontactthemanufacturer.
Q:
can I get the smaller, lighter 4 wt. reel with a 5 wt. line?
Answer: The line that comes with the reel is not a quality line, so purchasing a quality line for fiishing is a better option. Use the line that comes with the reel for casting practice, especially over grass, etc.
Q:
Is this real right handed or left-handed
Answer: All fly fishing reels are adjustable to be left or right handed.
Answer: Either hand it’s all how you put the string on
Answer: I'm right handed and use it just fine. Although I think it;s reversible if needed.
Answer: RIGHT, not reversal
Answer: The pictures on Amazon show that you twist the knob to remove the spool. This doesn't work on mine. On mine there is a small lever on the side of the knob. Push the lever and then pull the spool apart. then you can remove the clip and reverse the bearing.
Q:
can I get the reel with a sinking line?
Answer: I don't think you can order or get this with "sinking" line. It comes as is with line provided.
Q:
Casting rh, turning real with left hand. reel clicks when reeling but has a wicked free spool when stripping line off the reel. is this normal or do ?
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: It is an odd thing about this reel; that when you reel in the line it has tension that is adjustable and it softly clicks. When you pull on the line it freely wheels out. I bought this for a grandson. I have a very old fly fishing reel it is a wind up spring loaded one. I pull the line out against tension. When I want to reel in the line I pull upon a lever and it reels it in by the wound up spring loaded spool. This is a great reel. I thought it might be a problem for a beginner. Maybe that was a mistake. This is why I feel the new reel I purchased for my grandson is odd to me. It is a simple reel to use.
Answer: Directions to change from left hand to Rt hand retrieve are given under “more product info”. Remove spool, remove clip, remove one way bearing and turn it around and reinstall.
Answer: You can go on line to find out how to flip the parts that allows the reel to go from right hand to left hand retrieve.
Answer: It’s set up for opposite hand retrieve. You can reverse it. Set the drag to reduce looseness of the spool.
Answer: I am not sure what is wrong your reel. The way it is acting, I suspect that you are trying to make the right-handed reel work as a left handed reel. I have witnessed that situation before. Please follow the guide lines in your reel box and follow the directions in the reel box. I hope that helps..
Answer: no you have to reverse center peice for left hand use set up for right retrieve from factory.
Q:
Does this reel have a drag system? i know alot of cheaper reels dont have drag.
Answer:
Answer:
Answer: Yes it does have a drag system
Answer: It doesn’t really work that well, but yes.
Q:
what would be a rough weight limit for this reel? as in what is the largest fish it can handle?
Answer: I got this reel 3/4 to hold 4wt line. I fish it with an 8ft 4wt rod....The streams I fish are expected to have small trout...an 18 inch trout might be a prized catch/release...the reel will handle this size. This reel and what I fish for works well. The 3 /4 reel is ideal. One rule of thumb is that a reel is only to hold the fly line....Very rarely do I fight a fish on a small stream with the reel. I have no idea what size fish you are expected to catch....these AnglerDream reels are great at a great price.
Answer: I usually don’t “reel” in the fish when fly fishing, I pull the line in with my left hand while using my right hand to guide the rod.
Answer: I use it on a 2 weight rod with a 7X tippet so it's pretty light. It would probably be fun to try on a 'stocker' size rainbow up to about a pound but any bigger fish would take a lot of time and finesse and may stress the fish. I catch and release mostly very small cuts, browns and brooks with this setup and it's great! I'll bet it would great for pan fish too!
Q:
Ordered 5wt, what size leader is it? 2x,3x 6x?
Answer: Size6leader
Q:
I just got my package today but the line is 3wt and i ordered 5wt.what should i do everything else is as expected
Answer: If you don't want to wait for the seller to send you the right line, order a WF5F fly line off Amazon ($15 - $39 depending on the seller).
Q:
Does the line have welded loops?
Answer: No. The line does not have a loop on either end. But it does come with the braided loop that you place on the ends
Q:
Can you buy extra spools for this?
Answer: I do not know. That is a great question and idea. Go to the dealer or manufacturer. That is the best I can answer.
Q:
Is the blue line not wieght forward?
Answer: I'm fairly sure all the lines they pre-spool are weight forward ... but I have had a reel come to me with the line put on backwards (head wound in first so the running line was what I was supposed to cast). I just took the fly line off and re-tied the back end to the backing and rewound the line on correctly.
Q:
If I ordeer a 1/2 reel can I specify a wf3f line in florescent yellow
Answer: Yes, I did the same thing
Q:
What is the line capacity of a 1/2 w?
Q:
How do uou take the spool off? Is it a screw mechanism, or a latch system?
Answer: It unscrews
Q:
has anyone figured out how switch it to left hand ?
Answer: no cant do it order a left side one
Answer: Yes you need to take spool off take off the metal ring clip pull out bearings and flip them over put clip back on and should be good to go that's what I did
Q:
What is Knob on reel on side where the handle used for?
Answer: counter-weight balance in event large fish rapidly takes out line.
Answer: nobe on opposite side of crank handel is for drag setting
Q:
How does the order go from saying it will be delivered on 2/20/20 to change to 3/11/20??????? I ordered this to be here for my fishing trip feb 25
Answer: Good question, contact the seller
Product reviews of ANGLER DREAM AnglerDream 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8WT Fly Reel with Line Combo Large Arbor Aluminum Fly Fishing Reels
Gabrielle Elyse : Great Reel
I bought this reel (7/8 line) to take to the White River in Colorado. I was even more excited about my purchase after reeling in a couple 15 in cutbows. It handled as well as my other reels costing $100-$300! I highly recommend this product.
1geeman : Good reel for the price.
The reel was smaller than expected. Good Quality. Have used it quiet a lot with no problems. Good product, just was not happy with the size.
Dave Gambocarto Home Inspection LLC : Fly reel
Cute little reel. Worked great so of. Only used a few times, but I did catch one Brown trout with it.
Adam Mihara : Bigger than you'd expect
Great value for the money. Line casts well and drag is smooth enough. The reel is a bit wider than you'd expect for a 3/4wt but who is going to complain about that for a sub $30 reel with line? Great value!
Amazon Customer : Very good product as was described
Very good product as was described. Small and ultralight for use with a 2 or 3 weight rod. Nothing fancy but that's what is needed in some cases.
Aaron Petrovich : Updated! DO NOT BUY! READ!
Update: I got the line and backing off using a power drill and an old spool. I put the line back on the reel correctly. I went to test it out and omg. This reel is junk. The machining tolerances between the spool and frame are too far apart. The line gets caught between them. The fly line itself and you know how thick fly line is. Just complete junk.
I would not have bought this product had I known that the line would be put on incorrectly. The reel comes in a small box and the backing, line, leader/tippet are already there and spooled on. They put the line on wrong. It comes out of the top and not the bottom of the reel. If you are buying this for the line and the reel look somewhere else. This would be 5 stars had they put it on in the correct direction. Now I have to unspool it and put it on in the correct direction. I am not even sure that I can do that without making a twisted mess.
Matt Lalley : Be careful
Bought combo reel and line. Only the reel showed up
Julie Habecker : Fishing rod reel
Fast shipping great product he loves it
Cannondale riders : Will not fit on Anny rod
Will not fit on my fly rod in the slots
Mason E Young : Two thumbs up!
I believe it's a good bang for ur buck. I've had fun catching some whoppers on my fly rob this year. with this real.. to me it's a good deal.
Robert Stolzenberger : Nice reel
I'm pleased. For my intended use it's fine - does the job. What more could I ask? Not delicate and for me that's important.
GJ Colorado - : Decent Fly Reel at Excellent Price
I mounted this fly reel on a Cabelas 9' 3wt rod as a replacement for a Ross Cimarron reel. It has the same capacity of backing and SA Mastery VPT flyline as the Ross Cimarron. The drag, while a cork disc, is very similar to the Ross drag system and preformed well, even after the reel having been submerged.
The large arbor has a quicker retrieve and a smoother drag start-up than the Ross.
I have Sage, Orvis, and Ross reels costing as much as $450, yet I would have no reservations using an AnglerDream on any of my rods.
I've only fished with the AnglerDream 3wt reel once, but did take a nice 2.5lb Rainbow to the reel, palming the runs, then
landed and released it ... great excitement and not once during the battle was there a time I had an issue with the reel's performance.
I give the purchase 4-Stars because the fly line, connectors, and leader are really not up to the quality of the reel. I'd wish the reel was priced without the backing, fly line, connectors, and leader, since most experienced flyfishers will want a better quality setup and presentation.
Grand Rapids Michigan : It is just right for a 12 year old grandson.
It is a great fly fishing reel. Light weight, small, and easy to use. I am training one grandson to load/tie on the backing to the reel spool. Then reel it on to the proper amount to fill the reel up to the proper amount to allow the proper amount of floating fly line. Thenie on the floating fly line to the backing line. Then attach the special gripping loop to the fly line end. These are braided monofilament or nylon that work like Chinese finger locks. I am used to the no-not eyelet you push into the hollow floating fly line. Then tie on the tapered leader to this new loop. Then tie on the fly. Eventually I think I will train him to tie appropriate flies for Michigan fresh water lake fish. I have the instructions on all this drawn out for him to follow with me helping. Plus larger in diameter lines for easy seeing and handling. Once he can do this on his own. We will teach him how to mount it on his new fly rod and set it up for fly fishing. Then how to stow it for safe travels and storage. Then we will teach him how to work the rod and reel with a hookless weight for visual and dexterity feel. We will have rings on the grass in our lawn for targets to practice to. Safety glasses when we go fishing.
robert kalbaugh : Not holding up
The reel looks nice but its not holding up very well had to fix handle once already and the reel is rubbing up against the housing now after only a few times of using it . The fly line is so hard to put on the reel without it getting tangled up . The need to put it on a plastic spool to prevent this like every other fly line ts that you would buy . I bought another one about a year ago and its been ok maybe i just got a lemon with this one
Angeline D. Allison : Fantastic!
Just what I was looking for.
Snook Slayer : Fly rod reel
Fit the fly rod good but have not fish with it yet
S9plus : Good
Perfect for winding up small diameter antenna wire. You can get about 60-70feet of 26 AWG PTFE on there.
Amazon Customer : Very good product as was described
Very good product as was described. Small and ultralight for use with a 2 or 3 weight rod. Nothing fancy but that's what is needed in some cases.
Charles Johnson : Reasonable price and great quality
I purchased this reel to add to a new fly rod that I had been given. The reel is of great quality and I have used it on several excursions recently. I would purchase it again.
Chris : Great buy..
Reel looks an feels great. Cant wait to see how it handles trout this weekend, definitely see me buying another one..
CarGuyCanFish : Not great quality, also doesn’t work well.
Much cheaper design than expected. Pictures cover up a lot of blemishes and poor manufacturing. Was very difficult to switch over the handle to reel with the left hand. The instructions were unclear and it took several hours and a lot of patience to get it right because the parts did not quite fit together properly. Would not recommend. Spend the little extra money on something nicer. It doesn’t work all that well on top of what I mentioned above. Especially if it gets wet - it needs to be lubricated every time it gets wet or it starts to seize up. I will be replacing this reel soon.
Yegor : An amazing budget reel works like promised and is an amazing deal. GOOD JOB.
An amazing budget reel works like promised and is an amazing deal. GOOD JOB.
CW : Better than expected
Much nicer than expected. Used as an extra reel for lighter line fishing environments. Flawless operation and smooth line casting.
GGJD : Left or Right Handed? -
One I received was set up for right handed (left hand cast), no big deal to change but since I'm a beginner it took me a while to figure out why the drag seemed backwards since reels are generally sold set up for right hand cast. White plastic side of barring cylinder was facing down when I took it apart, should have been facing up.
James Jones : Best reel deal
This reel is fantastic! Fits my 6'-6" flyrod perfectly in weight distribution. Sent a picture to my brother upon opening the package and he immediately wanted to know where I got it. The accessories it came with, #2 flyline, backing line, etc. Were just an added bonus. The reel alone was worth way more than I paid for it and delivered to my front door!!
David Arabian : Angler's Nightmare (do you get the hilarious pun/joke?)
1. size 2 reel saddle is too small for small 6' 2 wt fly rod
2. drag intermittently stops working altogether causing the line to run off and create a tangled disaster
3. the line that came spooled on the reel is super cheap and retains memory making it useless for stripping...actually not convinced that this isn't just weed wacker filament
You get what you pay for, so you could a) put your $30 in the trash of b) buy this reel, try to use it, then throw it in the garbage out of frustration (a is less frustrating).
But really, this may work out for some people (the reviews aren't terrible) but I would avoid this and do what I'm doing, which is find something a little pricier from a (relatively) reputable company like MaxCatch.
David L Phares : Not a bad little back-up reel for the money.
Interestingly, it came set up for a left handed caster, which was exactly what I needed for a “lefty” friend of mine. ????
Shane Gersbach : Meh
I bought this to throw on my cheap 2 weight glass rod. Feels very cheap and I’ve had a few issues with it randomly unspooling while pulling line and exploding into a big tangled mess. Also have had the line get stuck on a little piece of the frame multiple times which could def damage your line. My last complaint is that it’s not ambidextrous and you can only reel with your right hand. I’d suggest buying a nicer reel but if it’s just for a cheap little rod to throw in your trunk I guess it’s not terrible.
Charles Johnson : Reasonable price and great quality
I purchased this reel to add to a new fly rod that I had been given. The reel is of great quality and I have used it on several excursions recently. I would purchase it again.
Mark G. : Nice reel
Great price
Jimmy breeze : Complete unit is nice.
Beware of clip flying out very very quickly when changing reel. Needs extra clip. Smoothe, all in one good reel. Can't beat the price
PatinPoconos : Nice set for the price but no instructions
The reel looks fine and the backing is top notch. The fly line is WTF but the wide (weighty) part is somewhat further from the tip than other lines and there is no loop in the fly line to attach a leader. There are two loop ends in the box which do provide easy leader changing but they are very limp and don't transmit the casting effort as well as a direct link to the fly line or a stiff leader butt. The leader supplied looks of good quality as are the actual components. The fly line appears to be good quality and was loose packed but with the tip properly identified. Loading the reel by myself (no helper) required multiple untangling because of the loose packed line so try to draft a helper to hold the looped line.
With all that said this is still an excellent set for the money and a great buy. It would be nice if they included directions as I was concerned that I might have to load the reel twice if I used all the backing - that was not a problem.
peter black : Nice reel
Ended up with a left handed reel but will make do
Angeline D. Allison : Fantastic!
Just what I was looking for.
U.B. Ware : A perfect 3/4 reel for my set-up and trout fishing....
I have to admit that I’d give this a 5 star rating any time…This is a great reel! My rating (4 stars) the 3/4 ANGLER DREAM AnglerDream, I think is to all of these “large arbor” reels and directed to the industry as a whole- world wide. It seems that the fly line itself is bunched, really packed tight on the spool…and, the SA 4wt line I put on the spool, I noticed it filling the reel to the fullest. And due to this, I’m wondering if I should have clipped off some fly line on the back side before I attached to the backing itself. Thus leaving a little more room altogether for rewinding. The light blue line that I replaced- didn't seem as long as the SA 4wt. In fact to save I rewound the blue fly line that came with this reel to the empty SA 4wt spool, I found that it was not filling up the spool. I had to convert this reel to left hand wind...really no problem, but it would have added class to these reels if one could choose left or right hand wind from the get-go from the Amazon Dot Com Nation. Now with that being said, all the years I’ve fished, I’ve never let a trout take me to my backing. That’s just me when I’ve fished. Bring ‘em in.. admire the catch, then release.
Enough of the fly reel industry comment…I purchased this reel as an update to my small reel collection. Something new from the industry itself…I fish small streams and love my 4wt rods, including a bamboo rod. Also, through our TU club, we have, at times- Saturday morning “Meet-Ups” for Casting Tournaments. Yep, I cast to targets when not on the streams. Practice my stroke and socialize. This reel and set-up is ideal for years to come. ANGLER DREAM AnglerDream is perfect 3/4 reel. Thanx:}
Amazon Customer : Cost
this flu reel works well and exceeds my expectations for a low cost reel and line
S9plus : Good
Perfect for winding up small diameter antenna wire. You can get about 60-70feet of 26 AWG PTFE on there.
I will be replacing this reel soon.
brock f. : My new go to setup!
I bought this real for my 5/6wt trout setup and absolutely love it. I wanted more durability to replace a plastic reel I originally purchased. I’m very pleased with the smoothness of the reel and drag functionality. My old reel would sometimes bind when the line got under the plastic but this has a closed design to prevent such frustrations. Definitely buy yourself this reel and hit the water! Tight lines ????
Amazon Customer : Great buy.
Bought for a beginner fly fisher, would recommend for even advanced fishers.
Mason E Young : Two thumbs up!
I believe it's a good bang for ur buck. I've had fun catching some whoppers on my fly rob this year. with this real.. to me it's a good deal.
Larry : Surprisingly good quality.
Really good quality reel. Very pleased.

Robert Stolzenberger : Nice reel
I'm pleased. For my intended use it's fine - does the job. What more could I ask? Not delicate and for me that's important.
Oz : Easy compact smooth casts
way easy smooth reel. Small profile. Easy cast. Doesnt get spaghetti up. drag dial works great. I'm impressed.
Rainingdonkey1 : Great affordable reel!
Reel was great for a last minute replacement for my original set up. For the money you can't beat it. Was perfect for bringing in salmon all day! I would buy again 100%
Customer : Awesome Fly Reel!!!
This reel is fantastic if you’re looking for a quick and dirty way to get into fly fishing. It for sure catches fish and the fly line and backing work just fine. I have no idea if the drag is sealed but I always end up dunking it in the water and it continues to work fine. Just as long as you take care of it after you’re done. The drag is a bit touchy but I don’t really need it for the type of fishing I do. This is an awesome reel for the money!
Jay : I use the 1/2 weight reel with a 1-weight rod...
As you can see, I had to tape the reel to the rod. That's because the section that seats into the rod is too short, such that even when I have my seating tightened all the way up, it's loose and not snug. I can't say that it's the fault of the reel, or the rod. Still, all it took was a bit of hockey stick tape to rectify the situation. The reel itself is great. I fish small creeks and streams, so pairing this reel with a 6' 1-weight rod is perfect. I had no issues landing that trout yesterday on this outfit. However, the only issue that I have, which I contacted the seller about, is that the counterbalance weight fell off. Not sure when or how I did this, but I don't expect the counterbalance to become loose like that.
Russell S. : Few small changes needed imo
Reel over all is nice good drag system for bigger fish only 2 complaints would be instructions for changing reel from left handed to right included with reel . Also having fly line on a spool to prevent tangles in line wich can kink it . Other that that is all around a decent reel cant wait to test it out .
you can compare the product price from Costco, wayfair, bestbuy, lowes, target, homedepot, Walmart, ebay, amazon to find the best price for you
