Answer: If you want to put the handle on the opposite side of the reel (or change to lefty) 1st, go to the side of the reel you want the reel handle to be. 2, locate the handle cap which is about 1/2" round on the reels side plate. 3, unscrew the cap by turning counter clockwise & pull cap out. 4, pull handle out of other side (should slide right out). 5, put handle in the same place you unscrewed the cap. 6, Screw cap on opposite side you unscrewed it from & tighten down snug. YOU'RE DONE!

Went fishing in Galveston, Texas. The first two reels that I ordered, the breaking mechanism stopped working after a couple of fishing trips. The company replaced one of the reels. I’m still waiting on the second reel. The replacement reel that I used on this trip worked great. I think they fixed the breaking issue. You will not be disappointed. I’ll let you know when I receive my second reel, and write another review on how it works. I would give 5 stars after I evaluate the operation of the other reel that should be on the way.

Reel worked great for first hour reeling in fish up to 10lbs, but reverse stop quit working after an hour. Had to bump it with hand to get it to lock but wouldn't work correctly even after adding oil. Return policy is useless since it would cost as much as reel to ship back overseas and they won't refund shipping and can charge 50-100% restock fee. No way to contact seller and no contact listed online

Looks great worked great for 4 hours then it started back lashing. The handle would free spin no matter what position you put the lever in. Talk about putting a salmon fishing trip to its limits. Not sure why it failed but for the money it should not have.

Ivan Nitta : Last for two fishing trips

This reel has a problem with the reverse wind lock. After 2 fishing outings it broke by cranking in both directions regardless of the switch position. I took it apart and the cam lock looked clean and new. I think its a poor design. I lubed it and tried to use it again, same problem, it cranks in both direction. Disappointed in the Diwa brand. Also, crank handle bearing was rusted already after two months of use, must not be stainless bearings.

Bought 7000 model hope it will handle crabbing. The handle and body size is small, about the size of 4000 model from other brands. Well it is stylish, quiet and smooth. So I figured should give it a try. It's so under powered and on 2nd use, the anti-reverse lock broke. It was beyond Amazon return period, so I was forced to try to fixing it. Never opened a reel before but you see, I am a handy man and not afraid to do it. The spring on anti-reverse lock is RIDICULOUSLY thin and week. Changed it with one found in my toolbox. It's fixed now but I already see a lot of rust here and there. Cleaned it and put a lot lubricant. I don't think it is suitable for salt water so I took it off my 12-foot rod and use it for fresh water fishing now. So if you buying a reel for crabbing or surf fishing, stay away from it, even though they claim it 7000 or whatever!

Taken it out 4 times. Works well enough. Isn't the smoothest real but you get what you pay for. Tried taking the side panel off to lubricate and maintenance gears but one screws is completely seized and stripped. Otherwise it works fine until it rests out from the inside.
