Answer: This reel is fairly small - it matches up nicely with 6 to 6.5 foot light to medium weight rods. I fish strictly 6 pound test on this reel (the line capacity is not great - it is my one complaint with the reel). Any heavier line (8 or 10 pound test) and I move up to the next larger reel in the Shimano series. Overall, an excellent reel - I've purchased three now.

Answer: These reels have NO 3 way SWITCH, which I prefer, reel is designed in ONLY, WIND LINE ON REEL GEAR , with, of course, a superior adjustable drag system - no chance to bump switch out of preferred gear, lose extra line trolling, or the famous bird nesting and over- run casting !! Good luck, I have 7 Shimano Spinning Reels ,2500’s, and 4000’s, ! Very satisfied- and on my Falcon and Duckett 7’ rods , they’ll throw a bait a country mile ! I use quality braid with fluorocarbon Leader, or just quality all fluorocarbon! Good luck, this works for me !!

Answer: I'm with you. There are so many different models. I *could* try the manufacturer, but I'm not going to buy from someone who can't answer my questions. If they want to sell product they should be able to provide these answers. That why I'm going to go buy a Pflueger President XT. I know what I'm getting.

Non so se si tratti di questa particolare edizione, fatto sta che è pessima. Non imbobina i fili come dovrebbe e non è per niente fluido. Mi sono sempre trovato bene con la shimano, ma questo fa letteralmente schifo. Soldi buttati. Sconsigliato.

Me hice con el Shimano Sahara 4000 para spinning medio y he acabado adquiriendo el 2500 para spinning ligero y el 1000 para rockfishing. Muy buena relación calidad-precio, muy suave y con buen freno. solo requiere un poco más de cuidado que modelos más caros como el Stradic o el Stella (más protegidos contra el agua). Endulzándolo y engrasándolo después de las jornadas dura mucho.

Purchased the reel 1 week before using it on my fishing trip. I've used shimano rod and reels pretty much exclusively throughout my 45 years of fishing. I was hoping that purchasing this product in line would be the same as at a sporting goods store. UNFORTUNATELY that was not the case. I felt cheated because reel that I tried in the store was definitely not the same one I received. It felt used, it looked used, there was a noise when reeling in my line and all the unit was so disappointing that I may never buy a shimano product again. There is no warranty paper. Yes it has been used and I did use the unit to the full extent but as a vessel to get the piece to be, I feel that Amazon has let not only me down but the company who's products they are sell. Not sure what to do but I will not be satisfied until an answer has been put forth as to why this reel was the way it was!!!!!!
