Can I put 50lb braided test

Answer: yes it can hold 50 lb braided test line and i have 40 lb braided test line on my new one right now and when i get another 15 foot surf rod that is where it is going to rest so i can catch those big stripers in the san francisco bay and in the surf near the cliff house in the pacific ocean in san francisco. keep fishing!!!!!

Answer: i guess the 40 lb is like 8 lb mono so i guess . you wont get as much this reel has a good bit of play in the handle get a pflueger reel way better or kast king mela.i use mono and fluoro for wacky wormin so i guess 50 mlb braid will work pflueger has a apprentice combo on sale for 33 bucks and it blows this reel away and u get a nice rod. flueger fishing.com

Answer: Yeah why not, spool is not that big though. You can probably spool around maybe 100-150 yards of 30 lb braid(maybe)??

Answer: No clue... I wasn’t too happy with my purchase of this reel.

Answer: Of course you can. Not sure where these other guys get their braid but 50# is normally around .3mm and this 3000 can hold 100yds+ of it.

Answer: I would not recommend this brand of reel I had a 7000 and it broke I had a 4000 broke I had a 3000 and it broke so I would recommend a Penn Pursuit 2 9000 I have purchase three of these Penn reels and have used them in the surf and they work really great

A bit of Chinese trickery there. It reads Eight Ball Bearing. If you pay attention you'll understand this means one bearing with eight balls. I believe that many will be misled to read this as Eight Ball Bearings.

I bought the 500 version for my son, and I find it great value for the price. It has a nice and smooth reelling action and seems quite sturdy. It casts quite nicely as well, when spooled with a 10lb braided line. I would recommend this as a beginners reel, and is definitely leagues above the reel I got him initially that failed on his first fish. This reel should last him for years to come.

What a great deal!! I have bean using Shimano spinning reels for the last few years and thought I would try one of these for a backup. After using this for a couple of hours fishing for Bass and catching a few I was very impressed. When I got home I ordered two more and plan on using my Shimano for a backup. Great quality, very smooth reel. 12BB really make a difference. I now have this reel in a 500 size and a 3000 size. I know the price seems low but the quality will make you think it is a much higher priced reel.

After coming across a website mentioning this reel, I decided for 15 bucks to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised how nice the reel is for the price! It looks good and works great. With 12 pound Trilene XL, it casts a long distance and retrieves very smoothly. The wooden handle is a nice touch and works well. Another neat feature is the button on the handle. It allows the handle to be folded for easy storage. I didn’t expect much for a $15 Chinese product, but I am very happy with my purchase. I put the reel on a $13 rod, and the combo works as well as some of my other rigs costing many times as much.

Falsely claimed 12 ball bearings. There is none on the roller which is critical when fishing with braided line. Regretted having bought 2, and don't expect to last long because the braided line already cuts into the roller. I'm using the reels for snares crabbing which often involves casting of 8 to 10 ounce sinker.

I didn't know what to expect for the price. I was extremely impressed. It was as good as most $100. reels I've had. I was surprised to see the wood at the end of the handle. Although attractive ( like I care) I'm curious to see how the handle end will hold up in the long run. I will mostly use it for saltwater.

Seems to be a pretty great reel for the price. Just got this in the other night and loaded it with 20lb test mono line. Threw a couple practice casts in the yard and it has been great so far. Silky smooth and easy to operate. Has quite a range of draw weight you can select. I bought a cheap roddy hunter rod and reel combo on amazon a year or so ago, and this reel was a great way to revitalize my backup surf pole (got the 6000 series). I can't give 5 stars until I get a fish on the other end of it, but I will try to update my review at that point.

This reel, out of the box, is very smooth and has the feel of other well made Chinese spinning reels. I can't say it will last forever and it may succumb to the rigors of salt spray, as almost all reels do in time, but it should provide some use for the local fishing holes. This is an EF2000 I purchased at $14.99 and free Prime delivery. It looks good and the first thing I did was lube all easily accessable openings to bearings to give it a good start. It casts well off the spool and the retrieve is moderately fast. On a lite rod, it will suit the casual fisherman, just don't abuse it by soaking it in salt water and then not rinse it off after the trip. Be smart with your equipment to help it last a little longer.

Got the EF500. Needed a ultra light reel to fish 4lb test line. Not as smooth as a reel with 12 bearings should be. Rather loud in fact. Don't think it will last too many trips. I like the design of the spool lip. It is on an angle in the direction of line flow, instead of being just flat. The spool holds a lot of line. Its a good backpacking or kayak reel because if it breaks or you dump your kayak you won't be losing too much money. Good for a back up reel or to last 1 season with regular use. For the money, I have to give it 3 stars. You can order this reel on ebay cheaper, but it comes from China and may take weeks to get delivered. I got mine here on Amazon in 2 days.
