Is this the model supsp35x?

Answer: Yes, this is what I ordered and received from the LG Outdoors Amazon vendor. The Pflueger packaging indicates SUPSP35 on the 4 sides of the reel box but says SUPSP53X on the bottom where the UPC code is printed. Can't wait to try this one out. I wanted a "35" model for the combination of line weights and lengths it can hold. My sweet spot.

Answer: No. There is an SUPSP35 and an SUPSP35XT. The XT is more expensive. I have two of the SUPSP35's for walleye fishing. Great reels.

is this a good reel for large and smallmouth bass? I need a reel for a medium action 7' ft rod and want to use 15 to 20lb line..

Answer: I really like my reel. I use it for all freshwater fish. I think the 40 is a bit of overkill for most of my fishing. I think a 30 series is a great all around freshwater reel and would be fine with heavy line. Where I fish I generally don’t use any mono bigger than 8 pound and the heaviest braid I use is 15 but whatever. The reel is very smooth and reliable and easy to clean and maintain and I feel a solid reel for the price.

Answer: I have 4 of them for bass fishing. But I use 20 lb braided line and 12 lb leader max.

Answer: It a 35 size amazon probably got it in the wrong spot when I put it in but yes it’s a 9 bearing system

What kind of drag? the has a stainless steel/felt drag system, and then directly under it in the bullet comments it says it has a carbon/SS

Answer: Oil felt. It's quite decent and smooth. The carbon on the Supreme XT is a negligible difference in my experience w large bass. I own both. Personally, I'd save the $50 and buy this one all day.

Does this have 9 ball bearings?

Answer: Yes it has 9 bearings. Great smooth reel.

What country is the Pflgeur Supreme made ?

Answer: Made in China, right on the bottom of the box.

Does the 35Xhave slow oscillation gearing?

Answer: Not sure I understand. It is a fast retrieve as far as I am concerned.

Would this be a light enough creek for an ultra-light setup?

Answer: Perfect for that - I use it in an ultra-light setup - and have pulled in a couple of 4+ pounders (bass and catfish) with it...

Answer: I have mine rigged for ultra light trout fishing and it works great.

Answer: The supreme is ideal for ultralight use.

Is the 25x the same as 2500?

Answer: The supreme is a little better real for the money I have two of the size 30s for trout fishing very smooth excellent drag also.

Answer: the supreme is better quality and a good deal lighter. I have both and can tell the difference in weight easily.

Answer: yes I bought 2 a couple years ago. Not sure where.

Answer: No. I have used both, but find braid has many advantages; no tangles, casts further, more sensitive. I use mono leader for abrasion resistance and ease of changing lures.

Has anyone had trouble with grinding in this reel..?

Answer: As a matter of fact, I did! Mine was "grinding" as you describe, not turning smoothly, and sounded/felt like it has sand inside. I contacted Pflueger and described the problem. They had me send it back to them, they found the problem, (something had worked/broken loose) fixed it and send it back quickly. VERY good people to work with, I was 100% satisfied.

What is the best size for bass fishing in creeks and ponds in Fla? I’m buying it for my son and can’t get a visual as to the right size.

Answer: I have fished there and suggests the 30 or the 25. Personally I find the 35 and 40 a bit large, but I own all sizes and they all have a specific use.

Answer: Model#SUPXTSP30 is a perfect size reel for 0-7 lb bass. I have mine on 6’8 medium/fast action at croix pole and love it.

Answer: This size reel is better suited for heavier lines and rods! I have a Pflueger President reel that is great for lines of 8lb or less! I also have another Pflueger reel small yet called a Summit XT that has a smaller line capacity rated 4-8 lb! I love Pflueger reels and cannot imagine owning any other type again! I hope this tells you what you need to know!

Answer: I go with the 30 on a medium or medium light rod for bass. FL bass are larger than here in the Midwest so at most you’d need a 35.

I’m one of the biggest Flueger fans out there. Not sure if it was the luck of the draw but I bought this reel for my 9 year olds birthday.
He got to use it for 15 minutes and the screw came out of the bale and dropped into the lake. What a horrible experience for a first time reel.

I was for a long time a shimano reel guy. However, I have migrated to Plueger for light and ultra light fishing. Great drag system. I fish for spring trout in gulf and often hook into Reds and Jacks, the reel handles the larger fish with ease. Also, when fishing freshwater for Bream , I routinely hook into bass, cats and carp, these little reels will land the big one. I recommend spending the extra cash and getting the supreme if you have saltwater plans.

I loved it until it started getting "sticky" on retrieving. Feels like a bearing is already shot. I've had it a month. My other identical supreme is great after I reattached the bail wire that fell off two weeks after buying it. Not the same confidence in Pflueger anymore but if the reel is right it's great. Caught this 50" on the still good one while Walleye hunting so it can handle a fight. Idk, Abu Revo 2 has been awesome for a year without any problems for another $20 it's worth it.

When I 1st spooled up the reel with line, I thought it was super a smooth reel. Casts nice, but when retrieving lures it has what feels like a gear slightly not meshing right that you can feel. Light lures like plastic worms it is ok, but when is has a load on it is when it screws up. Returning for a refund, very disappointed..

I was very disappointed with this reel. The drag is nice and smooth however, I did not have nearly the casting distance as my old Shimano Symetre or Shimano Sedona reel with equally weighted lures. Additionally, the line would consistently knot up for no apparent reason. It was not overspooled or anything but could not cast well consistently.

I bought this reel in 2018 for the 2019 fishing season. First, the dust cover popped off and I had to buy a replacement part. Then, after about the fourth time taking it out, the bail broke right at the hinged joint (rotor broke), simply by opening and closing the bail. I’m extremely disappointed as this reel is expensive.

I have been using $ 100.00 to $150.00 spinning reels for about 7 years and the Pflueger reels that cost less are some of my favorites . They might not be quite as smooth as the more expensive ones but they take a licking and keep on ticking when you need them most. The worst thing you can have is for your reel to malfunction when your in the middle of your trip and that's where the Pflueger quality really shines.
