difference with X & B ???

Answer: Nothing. I just paid for the one with the box. It is a garbage reel, not like the one I ordered a year ago. Made for Amazon. They shoved the reel in a bag, then shoved the whole thing in a box for an extra 6 bucks. It didn’t fit in the box,, so the reel was damaged in shipping. Box was mailed in a cheap bag. I’m sending it back. All this stuff is made at a 50% reduced wholesale rate to Amazon.

Answer: The X comes in a box, the B comes in clear, plastic packaging. Otherwise no difference.

Answer: Without knowing the specific model it would be impossible to say, however the line capacity is listed on the spool of each model and found in the owners manual for each model. Also, if you are interested in a particular model you can go to the manufacturers website and read the specifications for each model there. Hope this helps.

Answer: I personally like pflueger products I have used shimano but I like the prefer pflueger they really smooth casting and reeling reels but it's like any thing try one and if you don't like try something else and you'll find what you personally like I hope this helps

Answer: The new models that just came out do not have the switch that allows you to turn the anti-reverse off. This is a growing trend with spinning reels.

Answer: Sure, but not designed for it, line capacity varies by braid mono etc. Better use braided line if you hope to catch catfish that big on this reel. I suggest you buy something with more drag for catfish that big!

When putting new line on this reel, why isn't the spool getting any line on it, in the opposite direction of the drag?

Answer: Not sure what you mean but if your trying to put line on make sure the knot is tight to the spool and also that the drag is tight enough to make it spool up

How do you turn on the anti reverse lever? Pried the N/R cover off, only to find no lever.

Answer: Newer models do not have a lever to turn it on/off the anti reverse is basically automatic a feature I like from pflueger

Answer: I have older model Trion20. It’s anti-reverse is a small flip switch on bottom of the reel. Looking at the new model pictures, I don’t see the same switch.

Answer: It is a slide-type switch just behind and under the bail. You can barely see it in the 3rd picture view on Amazon. It slides left and right. If they had a bottom picture it would show up clearly. Mine works great.

Answer: On a Trion20, I’d say between 150-200yds. Mono is 2lb/200, 4lb/100 & 6lb/80. 10lb braid is = to 2lb mono I believe.

Answer: I have a 10lb braid on an ultralite rod and works perfectly, but I would probably size up for a stouter rod.

Answer: I would go with either the 25 or 30, depending on what you’re fishing for. Bass or bigger the 30. Panfish or trout the 25. I use the Trion20 for trout and pan fish using 2-4lb mono on ultralight rod. Hope that helps.

Answer: One means boxed and the other means clam packed, so it's just a difference in packaging has nothing to do with the reel itself.

Answer: I use it for saltwater ocean fishing, then wash off after each use. It still looks clean and operates well.

Works like a dream for ice fishing. After reading reviews it was mixed between this reel and the Shimano counterpart (which I already have). So I decided to try the Pflueger Trion and give my opinion. I like it just as much as the Shimano. It handled a few 20" trout this winter through the ice. Everything seemed to work great. The drag was smooth, as was the reeling when fighting the fish. I really like this little reel and would definitely put it on another ice rod.

Great reel. Paired it with a 5'6 gx2 ugly stik fast action ultralight rod along with some 4lb test fluorocarbon mono. First trip out I caught 3 largemouth, 3 slab sunfish. First largemouth was close to 4 lbs, 2nd about 2 lbs. Had zero issues, no bird nests and the casting distance with just a 1/8 jig head is phenomenal.

Liz : THIS REEL STINKS AND CORRODES - DON'T BUY!!!! Corrodes quickly, flakes, and seizes up within days!

This reel is the worst I ever have owned. Within 1 week the bearings inside the reel started to seize and within 2 days the spinner bearing for the reeling action itself failed. The little ball bearings fell right out! See the attached photos. I emailed the supplier directly 3 times with no response. I called them and they were not helpful at all. I would avoid this at all cost and buy something better. Heck anything is better than this junk!!!!! Save your $$!

Rio Grande : I think these Pflueger Trion series reels are the best bang for the buck out there in light and medium weight spinning.

Very nice reel and about the right size for medium to large fresh water fish like big browns, lakers, pike, and bass. Mine runs really smooth with 10lb stren mono on a 6'6" medium action Ugly Stick. Balances nice and easy casting. Catch pike all day long. This set up would be too heavy for most trout fishing and smaller bass or pan fish. I own a selection of rod and reels sets for different types of fishing and various conditions. The reels range from Shimano, Pflueger, Okuma, to DAM Quick. So i have some range of reference. This is one of two larger spinning reels that I own and I really like fishing with it. Remember modern light weight spinning reels are more fragile (as are rods) so not for dropping on rocks, throwing in the bilge of your boat or stuffing carelessly into the trunk of your car. Most rods and reels are damaged during transport and storage not use. My experience is 60 years of fresh water fishing (not salt water). Good luck!
