When it says "left handed" do you real in left handed or is it that you hold the rod in your left hand and you real in with your right hand?

Answer: Reel with left hand. Hold with right

Answer: You hold the rod with your right hand and real with your left.

can these be used for catfishing?

Answer: Takes up to I believe 20lb test, so it should be good for catfishing

Answer: Yes. If you have used a bait casting reel before, other wise you might have trouble casting it. It would work good if in a boat or just casting a little ways out.

Does it work in saltwater

Answer: I’m sure it would be fine in saltwater. I do know they are great reels.

Answer: I fish in brackish water, part salty. I have not seen any corrosion yet after a year but I would surely recommend a fresh water rinsing after salt water use.

Answer: Not sure about ocean but brackish in Chesapeake bay has not been an issue. Reel is still fairly new though.

How big of fish am i gonna be able to catch, is it capable of pulling in a big sturgeon? Or should i stick to smaller stuff like bass and northern?

Answer: I bought this reel specifically to use vertical jigging king salmon. Pulled in plenty of 25-30lbers. I have no doubt in my mind it could bring in a sturgeon. The only issue in my eyes would be the line you'd have on. I don't know exactly, but I do believe this could handle 40lb braid or larger. Its only a matter of how much line can you spool onto the reel at that point. But I do not have a bad word to say about this reel. Its wonderful.

Answer: LOL, sturgeon, okay that was funny. Uhmmm yeah just stick to Northern Pike and bass. You should be good for 15lbs-20lbs and below.

Answer: It's made for largemouth bass and catfish and smallmouth bass and northern pike and musklunge would all be perfect for a big sturgeon would break this reel or at least the heaviest fishing line that it calls for in the manual! :)

Answer: A reel can have any line you want. Just remember the heavier the line the less you can put on the reel. I suggest a line less than 10lbs test or up to 30lb test breaded.

Answer: Yes, it's not top of the line but for the price. It really performs well.i have had it for about a year already and it still hold out. No issues and I still continue to use withe my abu garcia renegade rod.

What line is best with this reel?

Answer: I use 6 - 8 lb kastking monofilament line. I also use 10 -12 lb braided. I find these work the best but it dependable what you are going to be fishing for. These are good for normal everyday fishing. If your going for large fish, use larger line

After getting introduced to fishing with a traditional spool type reel, I decided to try the bait casting technique and went for this reel. Being the first one, I cannot compare with any other, but at least I can say I've been able to use it and have not had much of a trouble apart from some occasional "bird nest" I've been able to solve more or less quickly. Love the look and even being small, feels sturdy somehow. I like how smooth it is when reeling in compared to the traditional spool one. Biggest catch at the moment: 6 pounds.

Over all the reel cast very good and drag seems good however I have not had the chance to pull in a big fish yet. The major issue I have found with this reel is the gap around the spool will allow line to slide inside the housing. This is a major issue for me because I fish 10lb mono on rig. This caused a small cut in my line and it happened more than 3 times. That is why I’m giving it a three star and I will release the video review on my YouTube channel soon. I had high hopes for this reel because I like most of there Products.

got 2 reels,loaded with 20 and 30 lb sufix braid on Powell rods ,set up for inshore/jetty work.
My 1st bait casting reels, after a short practice session these things will pitch a jig a mile, a couple of very minor snarl's, after more minor adjustments zero issue now,thank you YouTube !
The braid is awesome to pitch, ditch your old mono, ya its more money but its worth it.

Great reel. Was skeptical because of a lot of the reviews were all 5 star but for around 30 bucks this baitcaster is a steal. Aesthetically its lines are a bit rough and the finish isnt perfect but it works and thats what matters. I accidentally ordered a left hand reel by mistake (my bad) but ill just have to live with it. I used this with a Medium Ugly Stick and 10 Lb spiderwire. Works like a charm with a texas rig and spin baits. Casting and retrieve is smooth and once I oiled and greased everything with benchmade blue lube it was perfect. For a first timers baitcaster you cant go wrong.
