When it says "left handed" do you real in left handed or is it that you hold the rod in your left hand and you real in with your right hand?

can these be used for catfishing?

Answer: Takes up to I believe 20lb test, so it should be good for catfishing

Answer: I’m sure it would be fine in saltwater. I do know they are great reels.

Answer: I fish in brackish water, part salty. I have not seen any corrosion yet after a year but I would surely recommend a fresh water rinsing after salt water use.

Answer: Not sure about ocean but brackish in Chesapeake bay has not been an issue. Reel is still fairly new though.

How big of fish am i gonna be able to catch, is it capable of pulling in a big sturgeon? Or should i stick to smaller stuff like bass and northern?

Answer: I bought this reel specifically to use vertical jigging king salmon. Pulled in plenty of 25-30lbers. I have no doubt in my mind it could bring in a sturgeon. The only issue in my eyes would be the line you'd have on. I don't know exactly, but I do believe this could handle 40lb braid or larger. Its only a matter of how much line can you spool onto the reel at that point. But I do not have a bad word to say about this reel. Its wonderful.

Answer: LOL, sturgeon, okay that was funny. Uhmmm yeah just stick to Northern Pike and bass. You should be good for 15lbs-20lbs and below.

Answer: It's made for largemouth bass and catfish and smallmouth bass and northern pike and musklunge would all be perfect for a big sturgeon would break this reel or at least the heaviest fishing line that it calls for in the manual! :)

Answer: A reel can have any line you want. Just remember the heavier the line the less you can put on the reel. I suggest a line less than 10lbs test or up to 30lb test breaded.

Answer: I use 6 - 8 lb kastking monofilament line. I also use 10 -12 lb braided. I find these work the best but it dependable what you are going to be fishing for. These are good for normal everyday fishing. If your going for large fish, use larger line

I tend to fish Abu, Shimano, Diawa...Fishing this weekend told my buddies about a video comparing a 200$ and 30$ real. While the video was not for this real, we thought it was an interesting concept. So I told the guys I would pick up a cheap real and we would see how it does.

First impression:
Reel is very light
Graphite frame feels fine in the hand and has a very nice Forrest Green color
Badging in not great, but does not matter
Line guide seems good, but guide screw seems to be plastic. I tried to capture in the photo. The screw might be metal and just has a plastic guide bar
I like the drag feedback, very responsive clicks and smooth
Spool tension is easy to adjust and allows for smooth adjustments
I really liked the design of the spool. It narrows in the center and line builds in the center until is begins to evenly expand out to the edges.
It held a ton a line, I really like the line capacity(12lb mono). I find reels work better stacked with line.
Overall fit and finish look just fine - I found the overall appearance to be very good

After I spooled the reel I made about 20 casts. Put it on a Lews Speed Stick. I must admit I was very surprised. I have been using baitcast rods for the better part of 30 yrs. It cast a mile.

I will try to add to this after I fish the rod and catch.

Over all the reel cast very good and drag seems good however I have not had the chance to pull in a big fish yet. The major issue I have found with this reel is the gap around the spool will allow line to slide inside the housing. This is a major issue for me because I fish 10lb mono on rig. This caused a small cut in my line and it happened more than 3 times. That is why I’m giving it a three star and I will release the video review on my YouTube channel soon. I had high hopes for this reel because I like most of there Products.

So far so good. Good feel for the price. No need to go out and pay $200 for a reel that this one is capable of doing. Put some good quality reel oil and lube and it is smooth to go. I would buy another if I need another reel.

First try with the reel today and not very impressed. To keep it from bird nesting constantly I had the tension knob set at max and the brake set at max. Been using baitcast reels for years and this has to be one of the worst.

This is an excellent baitcaster for the cost. Very consistent, right out of the box. Being unsure of the build quality, I took it apart and threw in some extra grease. Zero issues after a few hundred casts. The brake actually works very well and doesn't drift at all as far as I can tell so far. The tension knob is a little sensitive and would be better if there was more resistance to hold it in place. I might throw an o-ring or some teflon tape on it to keep it from moving as easily, but honestly I'm just being picky and I'm pretty clumsy. The only other thing that I want to mess around with a bit more is the drag; really easy to lock down, but there doesn't seem to be a ton of adjustment between wide-open and what I'd consider to be loose enough for typical fresh-water fishing (bass, pike). Even with this minor nit, this reel is a fantastic value.

This reel is Awesome!! I was a little skeptical at first. Upon receiving My new reel, I mated it to with a medium/heavy 7' Ugly Stik Lite Pro. I have fished with baitcasting reels since 1997 and I have invested anywhere from $187 to above the $300 range. I can honestly say that "this reel is right there with the Diawas, Shimanos,..etc...
It will cast a weightless worm, lizard or whatever with ease. The hook sets and retrieves are second to none.
