Answer: Garbage.....the gear ratio is garbage. The reel is garbage....do not waste your time. Got two different models and both felt like they used sand instead of grease. Stay away from this brand.

Answer: Ignore pics, If you prefer left hand retrieve, choose left. Otherwise choose right.

The colors on it are pretty cool. Excellent casting, smooth drag. Smooth and easy to use with little backlash and Its light weight which is good but also bad because it felt really cheap and would break. Its not a bad reel but not a great reel either. It would be a good choice for someone who is fishing a baitcast reel for the first time. The drag and gear ratio is really nice.

I was hoping this was Pure Fishing’s way of rereleasing the Penn Sargus SAR64LP Baitcast reel but I don’t think it is. If you are looking for a beater reel and lucky enough to find this on Amazon for under $20, do it.

R. Tom : A Reel Grinder

When this reel was new it was smooth as butter and a pleasure to cast and retrieve. 2 weeks later it became a grinder. Rough casting and retrieval, felt like gears were grinding...sounded like an old movie projector. I returned it to Kastking (excellent customer support) and they sent me a new one. Again smooth like butter. One month later it was a grinder just like the first one. Both reels we're never taken apart. Interestingly both reels without the spool was smooth like butter. When the spool is put in place it starts grinding. I set the spool and the removable cap in place multiple times to ensure it was set right but to no avail. I bought a Picsifun Torrent about the same time as the 2nd Legend 2 for about the same price and it still casts and retrieves like butter. Kastking let me know if I'm doing something wrong, otherwise the Legend 2 will be put with my pile of lost lures never to be seen again. (I'll buy another Picsifun Torrent to replace it).

I got this item as I love to bait cast and fishing season has started again. It was nice construction and took the line really well. It has a smooth cast and retrieve with great braking. I love the feel of it. The only small issue I have with it is that it is for a left hand crank while I’m used to right hand crank, but I got over it. I’ll be using this all season long. Great find!

I am going to write this review in the simpliest way possible...because while I love to fish, and this is my favorite reel... I don't know how to accurately descrbe the drag and everything else.

My husband installed this reel on all of my rode (I ended up with two reels for me and one for my husband , a lefty). We both like all of these. They were easy to install and they work perfectly. He adjusted all of the knobs on mine.

It doesn't back lash easily (unless I hit a tree with it when I am throwing) and it doesn't when it hits the water either. There was no learning curve with this reel either. I caught a 10 lb bass (my b iggest ever) using this reel. I am thrilled with it and I would recommend it and even buy it again.

I’ve caught a little over 20 bass with it using squid as bait . I can’t use a lure or jig on it because it won’t cast out more then 5 feet .

Won't cast more than 5'. Even with zero side tension the spool won't spin freely. Rough winding, seems like gears or bearings are not meshing correctly or simply poor quality. Save yourself the headache and buy something better.

Seems like a great little reel. I couldn’t get it to stop rats nesting and my buddies were making fun of me for it. So I gave it to them to try and not a single one of them could get a good cast out of it either. Could just be a bad setup on my part but we all tried several times and it just doesn’t seem to work right.
