Answer: Spool holds 65 yards of 12# line. Max drag is 10#. Holds 75yards of 10#, and 90 yards of 8#. 10# will do the job unless you have to pull a big catfish out of a tree.

Answer: I could not find the weight of the reel. To be honest with you I do not like a heavy reel. This is not a light reel but it is an excellent reel and the way it is built it should hold up for a very long time. I was not sure when I purchased the reel but when I found out it was a Pflueger I never wasted any time to purchase it. I have a open face Pllueger and I have had it sever years. Excellent price for an exceptional reel. Hope this helps you.

I just got back from a week in Canada, and even though the fishing was not that good, I gave this reel quite the workout, and it performed flawlessly!!! I got turned on to Pflueger reels several years ago when I was gifted a "Cetina" model, and I was truly amazed at their silky smooth action. This reel performed as smooth as my "Cetina" model and it didn't cost an arm and a leg. I highly recommend Pflueger reels.

These are junk. I bought 3 of them for my kids. Two broke the first time it with them. The handle came off 2 of the 3 and feel in the water. I made sure everything was tight and ready to fish on both of them. You can't buy replacement handles from what I can see. Found fine on eBay but they are more then the reel.

I Have used this reel a few times and the handle keeps coming loose. I tightened it really tight 3 times and it still keeps coming LOOSE!! I got Mad last time as It was only a couple dozen cast and the handle was wobbling all over the place. I got it home and sure enough the bolt that holds the handle on was loose AGAIN. This time I took it out,wiped the threads down and put LOCK TIGHT on it. I tightened it REALLY TIGHT AGAIN!!! I hope this does the trick. I have not used it since I have done this. Time will tell. Pflueger really needs to own this FLAW as I See it's a common problem with this reel. SHAME ON THEM as they keep making and selling them with this well known flaw. Take Peoples money and run. The smoothness of the reel is ok BUT!! what good is a reel when the handle falls off during your fishing adventures? Google It And see for yourself, They say the hexagon on the handle will strip out too, another common problem with these reels. Oh did I mention the PLASTIC push button breaks all the time too. Can't WAIT!! I ordered a new button JUST IN CASE it happens while fishing. Looks Like I Better Take A Tool Box Too!!!

This reel is fantastic! I paired it with an Okuma Cerros 7' MEF for finess walleye fishing and it performed better than expected. The reel is a little heavy for me because I'm used to Pflueger Patriarchs but seves its purpose well.

I bought this for my wife who prefers closed reels. The operation of the reel is very smooth. It seems that a lot of closed reels don't function well after a while where the line seems to get snagged inside or the mechanism fails to pick up the line when you reel in. So far no problems with this one. The quality of the construction seems to be better than others. After this purchase I bought myself a Pflueger open faced spinning reel as well that I am very happy with.

Straight out of the box it didn't cast right. I thought it was my son or the line was bound up. But the spool would not release and after messing with it for awhile I gave up. I bought one of these to set up a bass fishing combo for guests that come to our house. I am so glad I bought this over a Z33. This works great. It casts forever, drag works great, reels in smooth, and I haven't had any tangles. I did change the line as soon as it came in to 6lb fluoro, and I recommend you do the same if you buy this.

I just wanted to update this review after one full season of use. I still rate this reel as 5 stars as the issue I had was very minor. My father-in-law stress tested this reel by using it all summer, it is now his go to reel when he comes over to fish. The minor issue he had was the handle came loose 2 times while he was fishing, but some red thread locker fixed this issue and it hasn't come loose since. IMO it isn't worth losing a star because it was a simple fix. Even after heavy use this reel still casts a mile, retrieves smooth as silk, and has remained tangle free. I couldn't be more satisfied with this reel. Again, stripping the line and replacing it with quality line has really brought out this reel's potential. I wish I had one of these when I was a kid. FISH ON!

I wanted to have one spin cast reel in my collection and did a lot of reading to pick this out. Right out of the box it got hung on every cast. I thought maybe it was the line so I restrung the feel with quality line and it still wouldn’t cast without catching. Do NOT buy this reel.

I have been zebco owner for years, all my reels will be this this brand from now on. It built very well and it casts with ease. I like to fish for blue gills and any pan fish so the test of the line is perfect.
