Answer: The Concept A2 is the generation 2 model and the Concept A3 is the generation 3 model. The generation 3 model has a larger body, larger spool, and a higher max drag rating. The Concept A2 is smaller in all these parameters.

S. Rivera : Not impressed. I'll stick with Piscifun and AbuGarcia.

Maybe its just me, but I could not honestly give this reel a 5 star rating. Although this reel looks and feels really nice, I was not impressed with its performance. It was lackluster at best. The spool was too deep and heavy. Not enough engineering behind the design.
The Piscifun Phantom reel blows this one out of the water in "castability", which is #1 in the baitcasting reel world. The Piscifun Phantom is only $70. If you look at both spools, you will see a huge difference in the caliber of engineering that went behind the Piscifun spool. I also noticed that for the money you pay for this Concept A reel, it is too heavy. The Piscifun reels are on par in retrieving and breaking systems with these much lauded 13 fishing baitcasting reels.
From now on, I will stick with my trusty AbuGarcia and Piscifun gear.

Ordered 2 of these Concept A2s, love them and love 13fishing. However, had to return one of them twice. First one I ordered it was used, whatever figured I'd just send it back for a 100% brand new. My replacement came in and it wasn't even the same reel. Assuming someone returned it or some how it got swapped around. Overall not happy with that situation so I stopped trying. The other reel is great tho.
