Can i use this reel for saltwater?

Answer: Bought two, 1st time I used it the adjustment knob kept falling off and finally it went overboard. The second reel, the drag is always tight, star is all the way out and there is about 10lbs. Of drag at the lowest adjustment. Tighten the drag a little and it locks up. Wrapped pliers around the line, pulled and snapped 30lb. Braid. But they were brand new so saltwater didn’t have anything to do with the failures.

Answer: The width and line capacity depends on the size of the reel...4000, 5000, or 6000; however I would say its about the same size at the Abu C3 series for the same size. I strongly suggest you read my prior review on this reel...it is inexpensive but you get what you pay for. Mine lasted me about 5 fishing trips...

Answer: Clicker being loud is a relative term. When I first got the reel and tested the clicker, I thought the sound of it was sufficient for me. Unfortunately the reel is horrible and broke within 2 weeks and half a dozen fishing trips for me to have actually used this reel with the clicker. Personally, I would avoid this product. Very poor quality.

I cannot write a review about how the reel worked while fishing because as i was putting line on the reel i noticed the reel made a lot of noise and level wine had come out of the grove, i also attempted to pull line off the reel by hand but the drag would not let me so attempted to loosen the star drag but it was as lose as it would go. So i am returning it with the hopes of getting one that works.

Reel looked great out of the box. Made some pratice cast and set out fishing. My first fish on this reel was about a 2lb catfish. The handle would turn but not the spool. I tightened the drag and tension. I had to roll the spool with my thumb. I never seen such a bad reel in my life. I think a zebco 202 could do better.

This is an amazing reel! Light weight and super smooth. I only do salt water fishing and I have enjoyed the performance of this reel so far.
I love the fact that the clocker can be turned on or off. The clicker is really convenient when fighting big fish.

I recommend using braid 0.3mm or under with this reel to maximize the spool capacity. I also love the drag system on this reel very easy to dial in and the level wind ensures that the line leaves the spool evenly as well.

The only thing I can't seem to figure out is how to open up the reel to get the spool out but that's something I'll figure out eventually.

Overall I love this reel. Switched to baitcasters mainly because of the challenge they seem to pose and I'm loving this one so far. I highly recommend this reel.

I bought the 4000 about 2 months ago because I was looking for an alternative to my old abu ambassador. Mainly use it for river fishing for smaller channel and blue cats and common carp so I decided to get the smallest one. I was very impressed with it after about 5 or so outings so I bought a second one, for the money it's hands down worth it and I'm going to slowly phase out all my old ambassadors (when I say old they were all purchased in the late 80s-early 90s) as they break with these because I think they're that good.

ok so good build quality, strong, cast far, ect and most importantly its cheap. what you give up for the price is a good breaking system. you will be using your thumb and maybe a glove. this is not the best choice if you have never used a bait caster and arent experienced in fishing and fixing ratnests of line. but if you want a good build quality cheap reel that can reel in a large catfish, pike, muskie, salmon, ect on 60-100lb braided line then this is a good choice. it can hold a lot of line, but i have only tried braided so far. when reeling in a small 5 in fish it is actually very hard to tell if you have a fish on the line. fished in very dirty muddy conditions and the reel hasn't had any issues or rust. has a clicker. caught a large channel cat on it and reeled it in very easily.

After a a couple of weeks a screw came out making it hard to reel. Had to loctite it but then snapped, but still held the reel in place. After a month the lock quit working so I couldn't use the drag as an indicator if I had a fish. Pretty good reel if it wasn't for those defects, otherwise this would be an awesome affordable reel.

Roger Aubert : The model failed to perform basic features expected from a casting reel

After ONLY two trips the reel can no longer adjust the drag resistance and the backlash breaks on both sides.

The reel worked fine straight out of the box. I have rinsed the reel using low pressure water hose after each trip.

Lost several fish because I could not reduce the drag resistance.

Cannot tell if it was a bad unit or overall bad design but cannot recommend the product

I have to say I have been very pleasantly surprised! I have used this reel 2 or three times a week since I got it (about 3 months). I don't know that you can beat this for the price. I will say this is the second one I got. The first one did break after the first use but amazon replaced it and I have not had any problems with this one. I can cast this sucker a long way! great for shore cat-fishing!

After testing the reel, the lever to free spool for casting fell off. Then when turning the handle to engage the spool to reel, it would not engage. When I took it to ups to print my return label, it would not allow me even on their computer. I through the reel away. No more China crap for me and you lost my business!

After reading some of the other reviews with higher praise, I think I may have simply received a "lemon". I had high hopes for this reel when I first received it, although I did notice that some of the handle/knob parts seemed a bit plastic-like and the handle assembly didn't seem to be screwed on straight (Perhaps cross-threaded during assembly). Well, as it so happened, the first time I used it fishing, one of the plastic-like knobs ended up snapping off when I accidently dropped the rod & reel assembly. I shook it off and continued to rig it up to fish. I proceeded to cast it for the first time and it refused to cast even though I had it in "free spool mode". The inertia of the cast broke my 20lb. mono leader and all the tackle and bait went flying with it. The same thing happened maybe three casts later...it for some reason locked up and sent my leader flying into oblivion; except this time I had the worst "bird's nest" I've ever had to contend with. I ended up having to cut all the braided line off of the reel. I originally gave this a one star review due to my frustration, but will upgrade this to a three star because the customer service was really great and that is hard to find in this day and age.

I bought this (the WA6000) for a replacement and to learn how to use a baitcaster (I have avoided it for years). I think this is a great reel for the money. I was able to make the adjustsments easy and picked it up fairly quickly. I can cast pretty far for me, about 65 yards (30 LB Slimeline, Mad Katz rod and a 2 oz weight for practice). I like that the free spool goes off when you start reeling in. I would buy this again.

Perry Slayton : Not the quality I was expecting

I purchased one of the warrior 6000 reels in September 2018 purchased a 2nd one of the warrior 6000 reel in October 2018. Now both the original and the new one have stopped functioning. One has major drag issues and the other you cannot adjust the reel for drag and reel in your line. I thought these would be good reels for the price as they seemed solid. Wish I would have looked inside. Been trying to get through to customer service but no one acknowledges my request. I would have discussed this issue and gave them a chance to explain and make it right. So far lousy product and no customer service! I should no by now it is not about price.

I've literally used this reel 3 times and it has already suffered catastrophic failure and is unusable. The drag adjustment will not work and the bait clicker will not disengage. Jim Presley - Bluesman : Sougayilang Warrior 60 - Not Bad at All

The reel came in a box with a parts diagram on the box. No instructions of where to write to get replacement parts. One negative in my mind.

The reel is all metal and seems substantial and solid. Black side plates, golden spool, with golden adjustment knobs, (attractive to look at)

Inside most of the parts are brass except dor the levelwind gear and the clicker gear. At $49.95 this is not bad at all especially if you are planning to remove the levelwind altogether to make it a surf casting specialist reel like I am.

The cast control knobs ( 2 of them ) are better and more effective than the Kastking Rover 60s but not as good or effective as those found on an Abu 6500 C. Then again you're talking $49.95 vs $139.95.

The drag advertised 30 lbs which I didn't believe but to my surprize it delivered 37.7 lbs on a pull test. On a 5 lb drag setting it was a little jerky over a 20 yard walk test.

I put abiut 350 yards of 65 lb Power Pro line on the reel and added it to a 10 ft medium light surf rod rated for 1oz to 5oz weights and went to the field.

Right out of the box, as is I was able to cast 2 oz & 3 oz sinkers 105 to 111 yards with one breakoff and one bitds nest out of 21 total casts.

Casting it compares favorably to the Abu 6500 out of the box. I will say the levelwind assembly is noisey and robs you of significant distance.

I had to set the spool tension a little higher than I wanted because of the somewhat ineffective centrifugal brake.

Future plans for this reel include removing the levelwind and all gears associated with it. Removing the centrifugal breaks and adding a knobby mag brake.

I may or may not swap out the bushings on the spool for a set of dry run ceramic bearings.

There isn't a lot of roon for a knobby mag.
6mm to 8mm at max. An N52 magnet at this size should do the job.

I fish the surf in the Gulf of Mexico with Redfish, Spotted Sea Trout, and Flounder being my most common target species.

The reel should be able to handle them without any problem but with this high drag strength you will need 50 to 80 lb braid to keep from the heavy but sticky drag.

Over all at $49.95 this is not bad at all

The reel bunches the line up into a hump in the middle, vs spreading it evenly across the spool. The biggest issue was the line slipping between the spool and the frame. It did this constantly. Once there, I had to spend time trying to extract the line, ruining it of course. Needless to say the reel is now in a special place and is banned from going fishing with with me ever again.
