Answer: Definitely jigs and yes with 12lb line

can it be used in salt water

Answer: I am using it in salt water. I wash the reel out with FRESHWATER after every usage. It's a decent reel for the money. (Saltwater will eventually destroy any reel).

After just one use, the clear coat has peeled off and it’s now discolored. Unknown part of the reel broke in the second use.
