Kept it so I can leave it in my car for some spontaneous fishing when out and about.. where I live, there’s a lot of car break ins and I honestly got this reel because of the price, and also because kastking reels have been worth every penny for me! Time and time again! This one was $19, free rod, I figure if it gets stolen - whatever!
However, cheap price doesn’t mean cheap quality! This reel is smooth, feels solid and I can’t wait to go try it out! I’ll update later when I get some use out of it!

Im quite happy so far with my Kastking BRUTUS 2000 spinning reel. Love the colors and its also very smooth. Time will tell if its going to have long term durability.

I bought the 2000 size and took it speckled trout fishing in the flats. Yes I know this is a freshwater reel but I wanted to see how it would preform. It did great it handled Spanish mackerel, speckled and sand trout. It’s lightweight made it easy to cast all day. I thought it was a good value for the money. All of that being said I should have taken better care of it while I was using it in the saltwater. About a week after I returned home I took the reel out and it was locked up. I took it apart and greased it and it’s ready to use.

I recently purchased this reel as my Quantum Optix 20 Spinning Reel had problems. I wanted to try another brand reel that seemed sturdier. I had a reel that was mostly plastic because it was cheap, and the cap rim was chipped after a while and the line would get caught every cast so I couldnt cast it very far, but this reel is mostly metal and the line runs very smoothly through. Another thing is that you could switch the sides of the handle so different peoole could use it if they are different handed.

I bought this reel because I purchase another KastKing reel previously. That 1 performed outstanding! I just received this one a week ago and fished it 3 days ago. This is a very nice reel for the money. It's quality compares with my Quantum reel that I've used for years. It's well made and i expect it to fish hard for me. I paired this reel with a seven foot medium heavy Ugly Stick and 17 pound mono for a "light" catfish rig. I recently retired to a home on a lake known for big blue cats so I will be giving it a workout. I only wish KastKing would include a second spool so I could switch between mono and braid.

I have been using vintage Mitchell Garcia reels exclusively, but I purchased this reel for my 6 piece backpack rod. I wanted something that would be low maintenance and if damaged while traveling easy to replace and get parts.

This reel is well-made and very smooth when casting and reeling. I intend to use it as more of a casting reel but it works great for that purpose. The only issue I had with it was line capacity: it states that the 2000 model will hold 400 yards of 20 lb braided line. I was only able to load about 180 yards and I probably should have stopped a bit sooner. That will be plenty for my needs, just be aware. Very pleased with the product.

Good product for the money. Very well put together as is my experience with all their products. Can’t go wrong with this reel. I bought the 5000 which I think is a little big and heavy for my 7’ medium rod. Would consider the 2000 or 3000 next time.

This is my second kastking reel. I also own ine of thier bait casters. This real is smooth and very well built. The 3000 is a great size for bass or trout. Spoiled it up with some 10lb braid. It casts so smooth and far it is AMAZING VALUE.

I’m generally a fan of Kastking. This reel is a miss unfortunately. It’s very rough and catches on retrieves which drive me insane. Also, many of the parts seem loose. The handle, for example, is very wobbly and feels like it’s going to fall off.

This reel is amazing for the price. Have this setup on my 6ft 6in medium action rod spooled up with 10lb braid. Awesome for cranking and jiggin and hitting the creeks. Drag is legit as well, fighting 10-20lb carp / sheephead with no problem
