FEATURES

MICRO MODULE GEAR The Micro Module Gear System creates a smooth retrieve. The new gear set makes use of smaller teeth and more of them. This means that there are more contact points between the drive gear and pinion gear. The result is a more efficient gear train with less gear feel. | X-SHIP X-Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This means the gears will stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. The added benefit is that friction between the spool shaft and gear are eliminated. This will enhance the casting performance of the reel with lighter lures, and allow for longer casts. | HAGANE BODY The HAGANE Body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body flexing. The result transforms the angler's actions directly into cranking power. It's efficiency through strength. | SVS INFINITY The SVS Infinity provides easy-to-manage, consistent spool control and brake force. With brake weights that use inner friction against the raceway during the cast, SVS Infinity controls spool speed for precision casting especially when using lighter lures. The external adjustment knob provides for quick, precise adjustments for either the conditions or when you switch baits. |
| | | |
CI4+ The new CI4+ is the next generation of Shimano's CI4 material and 250% stronger. It is over one and a half times stronger than Shimano's normal XT-7 graphite and is over 20% lighter. Because it does not contain metal, it is also impervious to rust. So, as a result of its strength and weight, it allows Shimano to create an extremely lightweight reel with very precise tolerances. | SUPER FREE SPOOL SF was designed to eliminate friction on the spool shaft during the cast. In standard baitcasting reels, when the clutch bar is pressed down, the pinion gear is freed and actually can drag on the spool shaft creating friction that can limit the length of a cast. With SF the pinion gear is supported by a ball bearing so that when the clutch is disengaged in preparation for a cast, the pinion gear and spool shaft are kept in perfect alignment. | SUPER STOPPER Super Stopper anti-reverse uses a one-way stainless steel roller bearing that eliminates back-play. This provides the angler with instant hook setting power. | A-RB These stainless steel ball bearings are specially treated to drastically increase the corrosion resistance of the bearing. These bearings will last at least 10 times longer than standard stainless steel ball bearings in high salinity environments. |

Q:
On that reel do you reel with your right hand?
Answer: 200 series are right handed “reel with right hand” 201 series are left handed” reel with left hand
Answer: I am use to spinning reel so I use my left hand for reeling and my right hand to cast and hold the rod.
Answer: Since I am right handed, I reel a spinning reel lefty, but a casting reel righty. I have wondered that myself a few times- I could probably rip out casts faster if i did not have to change hands.
Q:
Which one works best for northern pike?
Answer: Any Curado would work well for Norther Pike with the appropriate line spooled on. I would take a look at the line retrieve ratio to match with the type of fishing you like to do. For example, if you intend to burn spinner baits quickly, give a faster gear ratio, and if you plan to pull larger hard pulling baits, get a lower gear ratio for more power. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Amazon Customer : SHIMANO
This is a good product. I will use it for fishing on the river and on the sea. Yes.
Very comfortable reel.
Jack49 : Great reel for the money
Love this reel. Very smooth, durable, and easy to use. Has a low profile that allows you to grip the reel with ease. Holds up in the Saltwater too!
Uncle Gonzo : I hate these reels
I bought two of these, one for my wife and one for me. Both of us are experienced baitcast reel users. We thought after all these years of using cheap reals it was time to see what the more expensive reels are like. They're junk. I hate them. Been using them both for 4 months now, spent all this time adjusting them and watching youtube videos that teach us things we already know about baitcasters and still they are the worst birdnesting baitcasters I've ever owned. We finally decided today to put them on the shelf, give up, and go back to our cheaper reels that just work.
Jack49 : Great reel for the money
Love this reel. Very smooth, durable, and easy to use. Has a low profile that allows you to grip the reel with ease. Holds up in the Saltwater too!
gm : 15 year old grandson.
It was a gift for our grandson who loves to fish.
Grifter : My kids favorite reel EVER
I bought this for my son's birthday. He went crazy. Said it was the best reel he ever had and couldn't say enough about it. If you want a great reel at a good value pick this up.
Michael Montalto : Medium Price - High End Quality
This reel is an absolute beast of a value. While certainly not on the "low end" of price points, this reel fishes much like some of it's competitors in the $450-$550 range. It's light, it's drag is amazingly smooth, it casts incredibly well and when coupled with good quality braided fishing line, it doesn't backlash often at all.
You can take this reel anywhere from 20lb-65lb braid so it has a wide set of applications that you can use it for. I personally use it for chatter bats, jigs and top water on a medium heavy action rod.

Highthereherb : Nothing beats the curado for the price
I still have about 2 or 3 curados from when I was a teenager. I'm 45, so my curados have lasted 30 years believe it or not. My maintenance secret is to rinse them with the water hose after EVERY use, and then lube the moving parts every couple uses.
CDK : Gift for my son.
Quality product
Travis Britz : First bait caster and I love it
This is my first bait caster and I love it. I was warned about getting birds nests and expect to have to cut my line out while learning to use a bait caster. It did take a little getting use to but I took it easy and quickly got use to it. I feel the quality had a lot to do with it and I'm happy I went with this model.
I was sent a left handed reel when I ordered a right handed. As it is my first bait caster I didn't notice until a buddy pointed it out. He uses left handed bait casters while he is right handed.
Amazon Customer : Best reel in the arsenal
Best reel I've ever owned! I have this reel paired with a 7'4" heavy lews mach speed stick and man is it a killer combo. This curado pulled in a smallmouth, landlock salmon, and a lake trout all withing a couple days of each other with EASE. Having the 8.5:1 gearing is just ridiculous in the best of ways. My friend has the curado DC and we have done many A/B comparisons and I might just be a little bias but my curado k casts further and smoother than the DC. Would absolutely reccomend this reel to anyone! And I would for sure buy another one!
James B. : Some anoying things about this reel - Still a great buy
If your spool is tightened and you unclasp the plate it will not clasp back unless you untighten the spool. I have not been able to adjust my dial but I haven't needed to adjust it so that's good. Otherwise the Curado K is a great reel, very smooth, and I am glad I bought it.
Amazon Customer : SHIMANO
This is a good product. I will use it for fishing on the river and on the sea. Yes.
Very comfortable reel.
robert saul : Happy
Love this reel!! Best curado yet been using them since 1998.
Keith D Reece : Five Stars
This is a really nice reel, casts great and very smooth retrieve.
HUNGIS HEMMI : It's a Shimano
Never had any bad experiences with Shimano and definitely not this one, rides low on the rod cast great beautiful action
Toni : smooth
good product

Eric : The Citicas Bigger, Badder Brother!
Arrived in time stated. Brand new in box. Perfect condition & smooth reeling. Box includes reel oil, extra brake pads for the spool and paperwork. Great little reel for BFS style fishing. If you own a Citica you'll love this reel!
Seth B. : Excellent reel and good value!

Mike : Nice Real
Nice and simple to use, I thought it was a little pricey after I saw it but it will still make a fine addition to my collection.
Kindle Customer1 : Great reel
Great reel.
Lon Parr : Well done Shimano! This is well worth the price.
This reel is much smaller than the old Curado 200. I was skeptical until I used it. This is the smoothest longest casting bait caster in my collection. It has an additional thumb wheel adjustment for backlash at the beginning of cast. I dialed the reel in and am very pleased. Used for Salmon fishing in the Northwest. A+
Shaun Moon : Best reel for the money
Outstanding reel for the price. Precision manufacturing and precision performance
A T : Very nice, too nice
Its so smooth and premium feeling that I'm not sure i want to use it outside
Highthereherb : Nothing beats the curado for the price

Jesus : excellent
working very good
FL bassman : Tops
Never going back to kastking again. By far the smoothest reel I’ve owned/used
Rba9 : easily the thing that stood out the most
Very smooth drag, easily the thing that stood out the most.
I was fighting a sheepshead and it was pulling some line off the reel. The line did not jerk and put unnecessary strain on my leader.
Only complaint would be the circular mode switch is very stiff. Just unlatch the side plate and loosen the screw. Put the side plate back on and just turn it back and forth a few times. Minor problem solved.
An excellent reel all around, been wanting one of these since I saw it online in August.
Moon917 : Best reel hands down!
Out of the 19 baitcasting reels that I have of every brand, this tell is by far my best! Easy to adjust and will cast a country mile!
Matthew Motl : The reel of 100,000 casts...
I got “hooked” on Shimano Curados over 20 years ago and my original Green Bantam just died on the water last weekend. So sad to throw it away.
I’ve purchased 5 Curados now, and love everything about this model, the “I”, the “K” and the “70” are all fantastic... I will purchase nothing else. They are so easy to care for and adjust. I usually use 3/8 lures and it handles them perfectly, could even go heavier if I wanted.
I usually fish for Largemouth, but have caught 45” Northern Pike on it as well! It’s very versitile.
I’m my opinion, Shimano Curados are the best reel for under $400. I’ve looked into Shimano Citicas ($125) and they are nice, but a little ‘clicky’ when you retrieve... not nearly as smooth as the Curado! Spend the extra $50 for the Curado. My buddy swears by “Lews” but I can’t stand them as they are over priced for what you get. Can you spend more money for a better reel, maybe, but why?
Don’t settle for anything else, you won’t be happy on the water. I’ve got 20 years backing up my review and am proud to say so.
FL bassman : Tops
Never going back to kastking again. By far the smoothest reel I’ve owned/used
Amber monceaux : exceptional performance and durability at an affordable price point.
My absolute favorite bait caster to use period. I’ve tried cheaper and more expensive reels and always come back to this for exceptional performance and durability at an affordable price point.
Lon Parr : Well done Shimano! This is well worth the price.

Great reel, in my opinion way better than the lews bb series. Casts smooth and far not noisy at all. Hopefully it holds up
