Wally world.com has vendetta 2 rods for $29. The only options are 6'6 And 7', but no option for power. I'm assuming these are M rods though. Just a heads up.
i dont see the 2's, all I see is the original?
Wow that is a stupid good deal. They are the 2's just not listed that way, the pics are of the 2 gen Vendetta. May have to get one for grins.
The description is of the vendetta 2 as well.
Gotcha guys. Thanks. I went ahead and grabbed one. At that price, I will find a reason to use it
Any links to it?

I just picked up a 7 footer. can't pass up a deal that good!!!!!
I just picked one up to. For that cheep you cant go wrong! Im hoping its the 7' medium. I need a good spinnerbait/lipless crank rod.
Are these a 1 or 2 piece rod?
I think they are all one piece.
Pretty sure 1 peice
Thank you! I got one ordered!
this is a killer deal, after tax, my total was $32.25. they must have had them priced wrong or something , cause the vengance models are going for $49.99
i did the free shipping to store also, save a few bucks cause i drive right by a walmart everyday on my way home
Glad to help.
The model number VTC66-5 on amazon refers to the gen 1 and appears to be the medium action. Either way its a great deal.
What's the difference between gen 1 and 2 anyway?
I got one. Thanks for the heads up!
They say they match any price at the register. I am going to print off that sheet and go pick one out at the store. Thats awesome. Thanks for heads up

the one main difference I noticed is the reel seat and the trigger. they have the reel seat that is on the Veritas rod. It is way more comfortable to me.
Walmart doesn't match their own online prices.
On 4/5/2013 at 10:42 AM, TNBassin said:Walmart doesn't match their own online prices.
That is correct. I got into a deep discussion about this with te sporting goods manger at our local Walmart. Online had kvd cranking rods at $82 and when I asked the manager if he was gonna match it that is what he told me. We "discussed" it for about 10 min. I was hoping for some great insight as to why they won't match their on prices but the best he could come with is it is shipped direct from the factory saving cost. Total bs cause I can have it shipped to the store for free.
$34 for the rod shipped to my house, can't beat that. Hoping for the 7ft M but I'd be ok with the MH too, can't have too many rods.
I jumped on that deal and got the 6'6 model shipped to my casa. Figured why not at that price. Now I just need to find a smoking deal on a reel. Too bad I got rid of all my heavier tackle since I've been fishing light tackle only for a while.
It's Walmart. Their stupidity needs no explanation. I find it ridiculous too.

I was just at walmart last night looking at these. All the 7' rods there were all M action. They had them priced at $79.99. Can't wait to pick mine up!!!!
Thanks!!! Going to get the 6'6" for jerkbaits. Amazing deal on a pretty nice rod.
Even if they are original vendettas that is still a great price.
I'm so tempted to buy one of these, seems like a really good deal. Although I really need MH, anybody know if the Vendetta 2 is like the Veritas where the MH is more like a H, which is what everyone says .... that way the M vendetta will be more like a MH...that would be awesome.
For the price, I'd buy one just to find out.
Screw it... I'm buying one. If I don't like it I'll give it to my budy...

that or you cold probably sell it for more than you paid for it
I picked up a 7' M at Sports Authority yesterday for $30....and it is more like a MH for sure.

The Vendetta 2 isn't as stiff as the original Vendetta. It's more of a true MH this time. The 2 is much less tip heavy that the original as well.
So has anyone got there rod yet? Is it the vendetta or vendetta2 ? lol. im confused half of you are saying its the vendetta, other half are saying its the vendetta2

The add says Vendetta but the picture online and the description is of the Vendetta 2. I don't get mine until next week so I don't know for sure. I might push for the 2 if they say anything I will pull up TW site and show them the description!!!
You can return the rod at a wm store if u don't like the one you receive. I hope it's the V2 though. I have a MH V2 paired up with a new SX and it's an awesome feeling combo. The 2 is a noticeable improvement and more true to it's power rating.
Just ordered two. In my opinion the Ms are like most MHs.
Ordered one of the 7'. Whether it's the V1 or V2, that's a heck of a price.
Even though the website shows the V2, I'd guess that the rod on sale is probably the V1 being blown out to make room for the V2.
Thanks for the heads-up!
It says new item on the site, which makes me think its the V2. I just ordered one as well. i went with the 6'6" just cause its a bit lighter
I take it there are no spinning? If not I can always use another casting at that price anyways!
I think i need to buy one, super deal anyway. but i already have two med spinning setups. what is a good use(s) for a med 7' bait cast vendetta?
These rods are another rod maker's MH,they are stiff tip rods.
Ordered one on thursday, 7fter... $31 shipped to my house. Hopefully its a Gen 2, but i have 4 gen 1s and they are great rods!
Well it looks like 7' is out of stock. You think think it'll come back at this price? My buddy missed out so hes contemplating on getting the 6'6 an then trying to return it for the 7' at this this price, when its in stock again. Think this will work...LOL!
Is this just an online price???
Anyone get their rod yet? Mine has an eta of tomorrow, just got the shipped alert a few mins ago but its been in transit.
I didnt know so many people would jump on this when I posted. Lol

Cause it's helping many people. Haha
Yeah. Everyone went after this mug. Heck of a deal!
I just got a text from walmart saying my rod is at the store for pick up. I am gonna stop on the way home. Really hoping for it to be the new model!!!
Thanks guys! I just ordered one! Think about it...you can have either a gen 1 or gen 2 vendetta for the price of a Shakespeare. Can't beat that.
Just got the email saying my rod is in, so hopefully I'll be able to get it tomorrow. Hoping it's the V2, but not going to mind if it isn't. Heck of a bargain any way you look at it.
If these were MH I would be all over this, but I was just checking my rods and have 4 mediums. Granted they are cheap six foot ones, but don't need any more. Was just thinking about getting another rod for Jigs and pigs or frogs. This was my price range though...
Got a 6'6" thanks a ton for posting this, too good to pass up. I just upgraded my topwater rod!
These rods are for the 1st generation model Vendetta NOT the 2nd generation. But.. after talking kindly to the store manager about what it shows and says in the online add he let me trade it for the new model.
It is a 7' Medium action rod. It feels like it is going to be a pretty nice rod.

I just talked to him. I offered to show him on a computer but he said he believed me. He said it wasn't the first time that walmart.com has messed up on things like this. Just see if they will pull the add up and show them the picture of the rod. Where it says Vendetta on it is completely different. It also says in the add the next generation, which is also on the rod.
Good Luck

alright cool, thank you.
Anyone know if the 6'6 are medium power medium action as well? And if going to the local wally world to exchange for the new model would be worth the hassle?
Still not tracking update on my order yet.

all of the 6'6" ones I saw at the store tonight were all medium action. If you try to exchange it, they may only give you the 29 bucks back. Not really sure how that would work.
Ah, boo. Was hoping for a med/fast but for the price I'll find a use for it.
I dont even think my store has new vendettas and the gen 1 will be going back since I have one in the same action already
I opened mine once I got home. Is the gen 1 a good rod or should I go through the hassle and see if i can return it for the Gen 2? Is it worth the hassle? I will want the same action and everything.
The gen 1 is a good rod. The gen 2 is a tad lighter and less tip heavy, and a little more true to it's power rating. For $30, the vendetta is a steal.

so, not worth the hassle of going to try to exchange it? it feels pretty dang light
A 66 medium might make a sweet too water rig. I want to have tons of tip though. How's the 66 mediums gen 1 in the tip?
That would be up to you. I had a gen 1 vendetta and really liked it, but I like the V2 better. Even lighter than the original. On 4/11/2013 at 12:16 PM, ataris41 said:so, not worth the hassle of going to try to exchange it? it feels pretty dang light

I got mine but my wife refuses to open the box while I am away :-(
My walmart has them for 24.99!
I got my rod today. I'm excited as it's a Gen 2 as it says "Next Generation" on the rod. It's a nice rod and I can't believe it was $29.00 It it was a MH it would be perfect but I'm not complaining.

Well, I'm still happy as a clam and to be honest could not tell the difference. As you said it's a great rod for the price and I'm excited to have it. Feel real nice with that reel.
Thanks for the good info.
I haven't put a reel on mine yet. I didn't care for the way the trigger felt on last years model. The reel seat on the new one feels like the ones on my Veritas rods. Just more comfortable to me.
Can't wait to test it out this weekend!!
What are you going to use yours for?
I'm going to use it as a general use rod. Texas Rigs, Jigs, TW and Spinnerbaits. It's a 7' M. What do you think it would be good for?
I think for now anyways it is going to be for spinnerbaits and some topwater baits. Jerkbaits might be good too!!!
I need to learn to fish a Jerkbait well.
I ordered the 7ft one as well, i think itll make a good spinnerbait/ rattletrap senko and light texas rig rod. Should also be good for some topwaters

I got the 6'6" and am thinking I will use mine for topwater and smaller texas rigged baits. Gonna be my back up spinnerbait rod as well. Feels like a really nice rod. Wish I would have gotten a 2nd
Picked up my two $29 M 6'6" Vendettas this afternoon (ship to store). I believe they are the older version, but very satisfied. Most of my applications call for a MH, but these Mediums are pretty stout.
to those of you who have gotten the rod, does it have enough tip to throw a square bill pretty good?
So you guys are throwing jigs and t rigs on medium action rods? Or am I confused and these are medium POWER/fast Action?
On 4/12/2013 at 8:13 AM, sqhertz said:So you guys are throwing jigs and t rigs on medium action rods? Or am I confused and these are medium POWER/fast Action?
1/4 oz jigs and a small 3.5in craw on 2/0 hook with 3/16 bullet weight. easier to fish them on a M then MH for me. and there rods are more than a regular M id say between M and MH
Hm, well just checked my order status and it looks like I'll have mine tomorrow after work. Also have a revo s that should be here tomorrow as well. Really curious how well they will balance together.
My apologies guys. I thought these were the V2s since the description and pic that walmart.com posted were of the V2. Sorry to get everyone's hopes up.

hey dawg, it still seems like a heck of a rod. Im not concerned that it is a V2. The appearance looks better with the reel I strapped onto that mug. Gonna be awesome
Well hopefully the gen 1s work out well for everyone. I really liked mine, and thought they were great rods. For $30 I don't think you can beat it.

exactly, its still a hellva rod for $30.. i know ill find good use for it, picking it up tomorrow on my way home, may even slap a reel on it and take it down to the local pond for a few casts depending on the weather

After getting that *** Wednesday, I can't even look at another rod. Except the *** of course lol.
If i lived near you, i would let you try mine, its simply amazing. Its the exact same as the ***, but better. Lol if that makes since. The *** is comparable to $200 rods, the *** is comparable to $400+rods. My next puechase is gonna be memorial day sale on tw for a 7'1 or 7'3 Medium *** Black. I need one for light jigs, flukes senkos all those lightweight baits
They are something else. I usually don't go for rods made by companies that aren't established, but I just couldn't resist with the Omens after hearing praise after praise for them. Had my local tackle shop actually been able to get my Villain in, I would've never even thought of buying an ***. Glad it worked out for me lol. Awesome rods.

That revos pretty light. I'd say it should work well
Just got home with mine, 7'medium. They are the gen1 but it feels light & looks good. I didnt see a reason for me to try and get the gen 2. Now to go fish it
Got mine and paired it with a revo s and like it so far. I'll try to fish with it this weekend and see how it performs. Definitely a fast tip like I was hoping for. Best deal I've got on a rod, ever. Big thanks to the OP!

This is the same one I received as well, It says next generation precision tuned. I got the 7 m
Received my 7' rod and its defiantly last years model but still a good deal and even better I only paid $20.96 for mine. I received a rebate of $10.50 after I sent and email complaining about them using a photo of a Vendetta2 in there ad.
No complaints here. Just received mine today. Shipped quicker than expected but it helps when the company is based and born in your home state. Mine is a 7' M and as expected has some backbone despite being medium. Best deal ever on a rod.

I was about to post this as well. They were on a different wall than the other walls. Both spinning and baitcasting. I may get spinning and another baitcasting
I used mine for the first time with my new reel. All I threw today was a spinnerbait and the rod seemed a bit too stiff for that. I will use it for smaller plastics and jigs and maybe topwaters. Really light rod. Great deal!
I fished mine heavily today side by side with my BPS JM Carbonlite and I've got to admit I actually prefer my BPS Carbonlite. The rods are identical except the BPS has the micro guides and I don't know if that would make a difference or not. The Abu is still a great rod for the money and it will get plenty of use but I guess I though it would be better than it seems/
Ya i used mine for a little, it just seemed dead to me, like no sensitivity compared to my other rods, i think imma take it back and get my money back and save for a better rod.
After ordering and picking up two "online ship to store" older model Vendettas I noticed a local ad for the Vendettas for $29.96, so I took the ad and selected a 7' MH Vendetta spinning rod (next generation). They were very hesitatant to honor the ad, insisted that it was an "error" in the ad, but with the ad literally in their hand they pretty much had to honor it - which they did.
I realize the Walmart rods take a beating on the shelf, but I have liked the fact that if you break a tip they provide a replacement no questions asked. I wonder how they will handle that policy when/if you have to return one of the older model Vendettas?
You thought a Vendetta was gonna be better than a Carbonlite? Lol. The Vendetta is a nice rod, but it's not that nice. The Vendetta 2 is nice but I still would go with a Carbonlite probably, though my new SX sits on a V2.On 4/15/2013 at 11:12 AM, mtaag3 said:I fished mine heavily today side by side with my BPS JM Carbonlite and I've got to admit I actually prefer my BPS Carbonlite. Well I'm inexperienced and really didn't grasp the quality of the Carbonlite. I assumed (erroneously) that the brand name would be better, and it possibly is at the higher range offerings.
To be honest, I think almost all of my rods will be the Carbonlte series, I just like the way it feels in my hand.
It's in their ad flyer now, no model specified
Sorry for the side photo
Available from the 14th to 20th
Just bought two of the newer ones in store, CSM did the override

I personally thought the 6'6" Medium was a little stiff for spinnerbaits. Maybe the extra 6" makes it a bit more limber. I like a pretty soft rod with a spinnerbait
At Wally World where I live they were not marked down but the guy at the register got a sale flyer and saw the price then honored it (after saying it may have been a one day sale...he then saw it was good all week and said "great deal" and rang em up at the sale price.)
They're not marked that price at my local store, but if you take it to one of the self-scanners they come up $29.95. I just snagged a 6'9 medium light spinning rod that I totally didn't need!
Where can you get the sale flyer?
Go to thier site and you can print an ad for your local Walmart. People in my areas doing this all over. I swear walmart is so freakin cheap and dumb. Some are not honoring it and some are allowing gen 2's for sale. It's like a bunch of monkeys run that place and whatever goes, goes.
I got a 6' 6" Gen 2 spinning rod for 29.99 this morning. They didn't have any of the older ones, just the Gen 2 rods. They had a ton of the YUM baits and cranks that were in the ad, got plenty of those too.
I just went a nd picked up the only 2 that my walmart had. I've never used one, but for 30 bucks, i don't see it a bad find. I got the 7' mediums and I swear they're stiffer than my bucoo 7' heavies. I understand that the bucoo series is a little underpowered but I didn't think this much
I'm headed there this afternoon to pick up one...or maybe two!
Just went there and picked up a 7 ft medium and sadly its a gen 1.
Picked up a Gen 1 7' casting rod yesterday. I mistakenly took a Gen2 up to the counter to ask about the sale price. The area supervisor was in the store and was savvy enough to read the tag and know that it was not the one on sale (VTC70-5 vs VNTC70-5). Unfortunately, she looked it up on the computer and let me know that there were no more in the store's inventory. Even more fortunately, I found a Gen 1 in the bucket of miscellaneous rods in the back of the sporting goods section.
Thanks for posting this. I had an 1-1/2 year old Silver Max in the garage that pairs with this one perfectly.

The people at my walmart were looking at the differences in the appearance in the rod and said the V2 is different because they do not have as much red. Either way, its a good deal on a rod even if it is the V1

I did this three times at two different walmarts, one of the already knew this was commonly happening and never had a problem with it. the others didn't care.
i'd go look at another walmart or try a different department within the store and try again, good luck to you
This is the way they made the advertizement, even the tackle bag they have right next in the ad even has different colors.

Thats EXACTLY what they did at mine. I had the ad from online and the sale flier in my hand, the color one from their register.
At the wal mart in Millbrook, AL, the Vendetta 1s were the $29.99 and the Vendetta 2s were still $79.99. Still a great price for the Vendetta 1s.
Bought one yesterday. Was marked $65, the self scanner said $49. Asked the guy at the fishing counter if it was the one in the ad. He scanned it, which of coarse came up with the $49 price. He said "Nope, this one's not $29, the only one of those I have left is over there in the corner". I picked up that one and showed him it was the same rod, just different action and length and he said "nope" and totally blew me off!!! I stood there for a while figuring out what I wanted to do and he was acting like he was busy moving stuff on the shelves but I could see him watching me like I was going to switch the stickers or something. I finally took the original one that I wanted, grabbed a flyer by the entrance and brought it to a checkout. I told them it wouldn't scan right, they looked at the flyer and changed the price. It's no wonder I try to avoid Wallymart!

Yeah, they had 4 casting rods left. 2 were 7' and 2 were 6'6". THe 6'6" were marked $29 and the 7' were marked $64. I showed the dude at the store that they were the same thing just different size and he told me he would give me the $29 price on the 7'. I went to get some milk and decided I would get a 6'9" ML spinning rod that I will use for senkos ans grubs. Now I just need 2 new reels.

I'm not too concerned. I like the V1 anyway. If it ends up breaking, with that 3 year warranty they will most likely send a V2 to replace.
Just looked at another Walmart 35 miles away, looks like they changed the flyer to fix the problem

Problem was at mine they had no V1, all they had were V2
V1 or V2 they are both good rods for the money. I have both, and like I've said, the V2 is a little less tip heavy and more true to it's power rating, but that's it. The 7" M V1 would make an awesome worm rod. Especially at that price. And LMBO at how many people scooped up this deal. I figured most would blow it off when I posted lol.

Even the V2 makes for a good worm rod.
I remember the good old days where mistaken ads were honored, guess that's what you get when you outsource your advertisement firm who know nothing about the products. But then again there is NO specification listed in the flyer. I think the only difference listed on the V1 states Pac bay on the rod pamphlet and the V2 just says SS guides with Zirconium.
We are visiting family so I decided to take a gamble being in the city that they would have the V1. They did but it was marked at $40. Took me almost an hour to get them to honor the price but I brought one home. Im going to pair it with a bass pro bionic reel and make it a topwater rod.
The store had out sales fliers for sales that being the 28th, they didnt have one copy of this flier in the store.
First cast with my Vendetta Spinning rod, "Snap" it broke about half way up. I was irritated. All I had was a flick shake with finesse worm. ugh.
Sorry for bringing it back ...Hahaha
I got a question though
So I ended up getting the 7'M V1 got away with it for $29 plus tax. I finally got a chance to put a real on it..PQ 6.4.1 an some 40lb Suffix 832 on it this morning and was going to get out with it today but unfortunately it started to pour out... after recalling the 10 pages a lot of guys here saying...like the one above...first cast snapped the rod...
So my question...would it be a really bad idea to use this set up, specifically the rod, with horny toads?
I think it will be fine. mine had to have been previously damaged to snap on the first cast. I got 2 others that are just fine
