I know most people, including me, pair up rods and reels due to performance and techniques they're being used for, but doggone it, some rods and reels just flat out look good together, too.

So what rod and reel combos have you seen that just flat out look good together? For me, one that jumped off the page at me recently was the new Bass Pro Bionic Plus reel on the new Bionic Blade rod (the maroon rod, not the micro guide white one). I'm sure there's more, but if looks alone was enough to make me buy one, that one would be it. Of course, I make better buying decisions than that, but this post was just for fun anyway so there it is. What ones have you seen and liked?

I think the Okuma Helios baitcasting combo and spinning combo are pretty darn sharp looking.

Coastal Zillion or Abu Toro NaCl would look good on an Abu Garcia Volitile. I like the blue.

I try to aesthetically match my combos when possible. How the combo looks factors into the purchase for me.

The Damiki on the far left now has a Fuego on it and the Zillion is on a Zillion rod but the others are the same

I love coloured reels on white rods -- don't know why. I finally got to put that in action when I slapped on a burnt orange reel on a white rod for a topwater setup I put together.

Yes sir! The reel seat matches the finish of the reel perfectly. Even in indoor lighting it is stunning!

My St. Croix LTB and the Pflueger patriarch spinning reel. Not only does it feel great and perform well, the blue color finishes on both are nearly identical.

Im about to get the Revo S and im having trouble deciding what rod to get, but I think imma get the Veritas cause they are both white. I think it will be very sharp

I like the way the Curado E brings out the little green highlights in the old Cumara. My favorite is the Ci4 on an NRX though.

I'm just the opposite, I like white reels on colored rods. That's why the new Bionic combo flipped my switch, it's a white reel on a maroon rod.

I must confess that I almost bought a Carrot Stick just because of the brilliant orange...and I probably would have slapped something like a white reel on it if I could have found one up here...

Quantum Catalyst PT baitcaster 2009 model (orange) on a Lamiglass XL704C (also orange). Sharpest looking combo in my limited arsenal. Also like the looks of my Pflueger President spinning reel on a St.Croix Premier.

I never remember how to attach a photo here, but I just finished a butt wrap on a rod where I used a metalic gold underwrap on the first 8in. added a couple of trim bands and a feather pattern in brown/orange/red. Thought it would look awesome with my Sol until I mounted my Browning on it. Black and gold, my fav. Of course blue and silver really jump start the bling thing for me. BTW jbsoonerfan, my favorite fishing shirt is aqua and I wear a red/white/blue hat most of the time and no, my momma doesnt' dress me.

oh, my Gen 3 SX matched with a Phenix Recon is arguably the best looking combo i have ever laid eyes on. Everytime i look down an see it on the deck i think "thats just one badass looking combo"

I've got a gen2 SX with one of my Recons, gotta love the blacked out look.

Any gold (Conquest comes to mind) or orange reel, matched on the brown Legend Elites look fantastic. A Sol spinner on a Fenwick Elite Tech walleye stick is really nice as well.

The Zillion Type R on a Steez Compile-X looks pretty sweet.

The original Fuego/Fuego combo is slick.

I will soon be matching a Certate 2500 on a new Legend Xtreme 7'ML.

The only time I noticed color when putting together a combo - I had this PX Type R first and needed a light-power rod to go with it. The Recon fit the bill performance-wise and I noticed that the red accent on the rod would match the reel. Black on black, red and red - looks OK.

It's funny you posted that. I purchased the LTB Finesse Jig stick this past year, and currently have it teamed with a Calcutta TE 101GT.

That is a great fish! My reels are still being serviced at the moment, otherwise I would post pics. Sadly most of my reels match the rods!!!

I like that Recon and SX. I tend to like the Darker colors better than the bright colors.

My Favorite Outfit based on Color is my SX on a Falcon Bucoo Rod.

I like a classic look. Calcutta on an older GLX rod with the full cork. I had a fishing buddy (hes dead now) but he had several calcutta and GLX combos and those to me just stick in my mind as "classic"

I put a lot of thought in picking rods and reels to go together. I'd be lying if I said I have never turned away from some rods simply because it didn't match the color of my reel.

Best: I have a Shimano Catalyst PT (orange) mounted on a Berkley Lightning Rod Shock and that looks pretty smooth. Also I have Lews TSS on a Powell Diesel that looks nice.

Worst: Shimano Curado E on St. Croix Mojo. Purple, black and green just looks horrible.

Don't have one yet, but I think a Shimano Symetre would look outstanding on my Compre spinning rod. Both being dark green, that would be a fine pair.

I know I've posted this before, but I'll do it again.

7' ML CS Wild with an Okuma Trio High Speed that I swapped gears on to make it a low speed. I'm not one to really "match" colors, but these were both clearanced and I was able to get a discount of top of that for them both. Couldn't pass it up.

My core 51 came in today, i dont have much line in stock, i found a spool of 8lb transoptic and threw it on. All i can say is wow. Core/cumulus combo is amazing...

there are alot of choice! but one of my favorites has got to be my Stradic Ci4/ Cumara drop shot rod combo. It's like they were made for eachother <3

Doesn't look like no one has mentioned this combo but a Revo MGXtreme paired up with an Airrus Nano Fusion. Hawt!

I got a Revo SX a couple of weeks ago and waiting for my Airrus Co-Matrix 2.0 to arrive tomorrow. I think that will also be a good look together. Hopefully this combo will have me pulling hawgs outta th slop in the near future. Yup it wasn't the first requirement but it didn't hurt that both combos are black accented by red.

I have my Revo S on a Veritas, it looks cool but it's also a great combo, I have my new SX on a Vendetta 2, and soon my STX will be on a Villain micro rod. I've always liked abu rods, so it's a plus that some of their rods now match up to certain reels.

My shallow crank and topwater combo, a Sol on a 6'10"MH Carrot Stix Gold with 12lb Trilene Sensation in blaze orange. It's probably the lightest and most balanced combo I own next to my Zillion/Alphas combo.

KYtucky that oragne isn't too visiable in clear water?

Where I fish clear is a few feet and for cranks and top water I'm not too concerned with visibility. Im not going to throw suspending jerkbaits with it bit if its an issue a leader is always a viable solution.
