The thread on the new rods people will use this year got me thinking, "why not reels?"
So here goes.
I'm looking at the following reels for 2015:
Daiwa SS SV
Daiwa T3 MX
Daiwa Zillion TWS in the 9.1:1 ratio.
And for a change of pace, Hootie's post on his Shimano Scorpion got my attention. Nice reel at a really nice price.

Definitely getting the new Aldebaran. Definitely getting the new Conquest 51 if they release it this year. Maybe on the alphas SV, told myself id never go back to daiwa but this reel might do it !!

Whats the news on the new Revo Elite Aurora? The old Auroras always peaked my curiosity but I never owned one. Any release date out there yet? Im gonna grab one of the Aldebarans for sure and depending on this new Aurora I may have to grab one of those too.

Looks like its going to be a revo elite with the titanium nitride coating and maybe a lighter spool. Might be a limited edition like the last one.

Well as an update I pulled the trigger on the new Alphas SV 105SHL. I ordered through Japan Lure Shop yesterday, and got shipping confirmation this morning. I also bought a Tatula from Ripppin Lips and that should be here soon, too.
I'm excited to see what all the fuss is about for the SV spool!

Impressively light. I just played with them at the Quantum table of a local shops tent sale. 20% off and I know I'll regret not getting one in 30 size. But they had 50% off on the baitcasters so I picked up 2 Exo's. I must say the Quantum staff was the most pleasant to talk to from all the factory folks there except Gary Loomis who has to be the nicest man in the fishing industry. Edge rods now have his long lost beloved Wiebe reelseats.

I've already ordered 2 reels off my list. I got a Conquest 200 a few weeks ago and have an Alphas SV on it's way from Japan, should be here next week.

Extremely nice! Congratulations. I love the Alphas format. Got to get one too, but probably will have to wait until someone else sells their's so I can afford one.

I've got a JDM CI4 on the way. It was cheaper than driving to my local BPS and buying US model. Add to the list a *** I picked up for Christmas, as well as my existing arsenal of Shimano, BPS, Lews, Diawa, and Abu Garica.
I take out different reels based on what I'm in the mood for, but my Cores, Lews, and Concepts get the most use.

Im thinking that Elite 8 is a darkhorse. Ill bet it rivals the Metanium in performance. Its got a really light spool.

Cheched the EMS tracking, and my reel has been stuck in Customs since the 17th! WTH! This has never happened before, usually it's only been there for a day.

Any time I've had a shipment get stuck in customs I've ended up getting hit with a duty charge. I ordered a reel a month or so ago that was stuck in Chicago Customs for like 2 weeks.

My EMS tracking showed my reel in Chicago customs on the 16th, but then today it showed it was released. It was actually delivered today. You'll be okay.

I get around 2 shipments (not fishing items) per month from the orient, been doing this about 8 years. Whether it's EMS or RR usually my delivery comes in about 10 days from the time it's dropped off at the their PO. These items do get "lost", delayed and sometimes returned to sender. I have a shipment that cleared customs March 4., have no idea where it's at. I have had deliveries when the USPS tracking system can't locate the item. This type of thing just happens with international shipping.

I have both the A & C and really don't notice any difference in casting distance. The C is fractionally lighter. Just got an email from Hedgehog Studios about dress-up parts for the new Alpha. Offset star drag wheel,mechanical brake cap,screws,level wind bar,handle locking plates,and knob caps are available. My Metanium DC was in customs for 6 days earlier this month. Here's to hoping for a speedy resolution for you!
I have some higher end stuff like the Metanium and I do like owning and playing with that stuff. Though I am generally a kayak fisherman, as such my reels get wet and often take a beating so... I use a lot of the $100-150 reels. I am waiting on 5 Daiwa Lexa, I got 3 a couple weeks ago but were no longer on sale locally. Tough to beat that reel at the current sale price at TW.
Also just received a couple of the Okuma RTX spinning reels. Nice light option for anyone looking!

As one can see this item has been returned to sender after clearing customs March 4. This has happened to me well over 20 times, from all over the orient. On average I get about 2 shipments per month, some fishing items and other items too. I've had the same scenario happen from Europe.

It's really nice. Casts great, smooth, and the set up I have it on is ultra light. I have picked up a reel I retired this year and then that combo, the reel I'm retiring weights more then both together (less then 7.5oz). I got it for a great deal and wish I could find another one for the same price as it was $160 on Ebay. That was a steal for that reel. I wouldn't hesitate if you're thinking of getting one, it's a great reel.

l suspect there will be a Citica i at icast 2015 and if so I plan on getting one of those& possibly a quantum energy.i've always found the energy's attractive and I would finally like to be the owner of one! may even try to hunt up a shimano curado D&E I would love to add those two to my arsenal.

I just picked up two Daiwa Lexas while they were on sale on TW, and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed. These are my first Daiwa products so I'm excited to get them out on the water. Just out of the box I like the look and feel.
