Can it reel in 20-30 pound fish?

Answer: Depends on how hard the fish pulls, how loose you keep the drag, & how much longer you let it pull out. It could absolutely reel in a fish that size of you make the necessary adjustments during the fight

Answer: Don't know, but I lifted a 5 lbs weight using 30lb braid line see video of my review. I will test it at 8lb and above.

Any thoughts as to which model would pair best with a 7' medium action Ugly Stik?

Answer: I purchased the 3000 series one and feel that it would work with the 7 foot medium ugly stick. I spooled the reel with 20lb braided line and was able to get around 150 yards plus or minus.

This reel is very smooth and hefty for saltwater fishing. I purchased the 5000 unit and was most definitely not disappointed. I paired it up with a collapsible surf rod for some serious fishing. The reel worked absolutely perfect for grouper fishing off the Gulf. It held up to fishing all day and I really feel that it will hold up for years to come. Great feel, super smooth, the bail has a positive lock to it, anti-reverse and a great finish that will last for years. Can't go wrong with this one!__

I’m into this reel. For the price, I just don’t think you can beat it. It looks and feels much higher quality than you’d expect. I took it out today for the first time and honestly it was great. Casting on it was fantastic. Reeling was smooth. No complaints. Can’t speak for its durability having just purchased it recently or how it would respond to saltwater conditions, but overall I was impressed and happy to have it in my collection of reels. I think it’ll most likely become my go-to spinning reel. I recommend this reel without hesitation.

Bought a 4000. Paired it with a 7ft Plusinno Elite Hunter 702 MS. Put 10lb mono backing on. Kastking 10lb braided (.09mm) line for main line. Thought it would cast at least 50yd. My Wal-Mart Special (Shakespeare Micro Blue Ultra Lite Spincasting Reel) will cast the same lures as far. The 4000 has a real smooth retrieval and very light for an old man. But I can only give it 4 stars because of the casting distance. Do I have it paired with the wrong rod or line?

Update:

Ive taken this thing out about 12 times now surf fishing, and it still works like day 1. I just rinse it down when I get home.

At this rate, it's probably not even worth it to deep clean these things. I'll just replace it when it gives up. For the money this is an excellent reel. Just ordered 2 more.

I bought the 5000 and the 4000 reels. I wanted a reel for bass and inland saltwater fishing. The 4000 pairs well for weight with my 7’ medium weight rod. I put 0.37mm braid on the 4000, which was a larger diameter than the reel states it can handle, but it went on great and casts well with it. The photos are of the 4000 model.

The 5000 was too large for my needs, but if you were looking for a reel for the surf or for catfish, it would do fine.

One thing that’s a little odd is the placement of the line keeper behind this bar that is outside the spool. But that’s a small design issue that doesn’t affect the function of the reel.

I’m glad I have this reel, and you will be too!

I'm a fan of Plusinno gear. I have a number of their telescopic rod/reel combos and use them almost every time I'm out fishing. I needed a new reel--specifically a higher-capacity reel for when I'm inshore fishing for reds and bottom fishing for larger cats--so I ordered a GG4000. After the reel arrived, I spooled it with my standard half mono backing, half braid with a fluoro leader, and I mounted it on one of my stiffer rods as this overall setup is going to be for targeting larger, harder-fighting fish and for punching through thick mats, securing solid topwater hooksets, etc.

Spooled as such, the reel performs beautifully! Casts are consistently long and smooth, and the retrieve is also silky smooth via the comfortable crank handle. I haven't yet made an inshore fishing trip--that's scheduled for July--and unfortunately the cats weren't biting the when I took this rig out for bottom fishing last week, but I did manage to get a really nice bass on a topwater. Once it committed, I was able to land the fish with no issues using this reel.

For the asking price, this is an absolutely great reel. I'll likely order a few of the smaller capacity versions as I need to replace my other spinning reels in the future.

Very good quality reel for the money. Very smooth and quiet. Solid construction and no plastic parts. If you are using braid you will need to tape the spool with electric tape as the spool is not textured. That's usually the case with most smaller to medium size reels where they support braid but are designed for mono. Check YouTube on how to spool up a real thst doesn't have texture to grip the initial spooling of braid. I'm very pleased with the purchase and will buy 2 more smaller sizes as I have some bait rods I want to replace the reel on.
