Centrifugal braking systeam

For light lure casting and long distance casting, centrifugal braking is better than magnetic braking, while having lower stability. Especially in wind or dead wind, backlash can be caused easily. Casting reel with magnetic braking system has better stability while having poorer performance for light lure casting and long distance casting. In the initial section of casting, casting reel with centrifugal braking system has the maximum centrifugal force. Lure gradually slows in the flight. The revolving speed of spool also slows, and centrifugal force diminishes gradually. Once winding or airflow changing, lure slows suddenly. Revolving speed of spool will exceed than speed of wire outlet, resulting in backlash.

Magnetic braking system

Magnetic braking system - the initial speed and the force on spool in flight are the same as centrifugal braking. What difference is that when the balance between revolving speed of spool and the speed of outlet are broken, the function that spool cuts magnetic line of force and own magnetic force work in the meantime, slowing down spool and reducing the possibility of backlash.

Answer: I honestly can't tell you where this thing is made, however I've been doing a lot of research on larger spool low profile baitcast reels. And I did not want to spend$250 or even $150 because my past experience is most of the ones that I've purchased weren't that great anyway. My fish saltwater hard and I'll feel horrible if one gets ruined because I drop it in the sand or in rocks. I researched the piscifun Thunder, kastking Spartacus Maximus, Lew's Super Duty wide spool, and a few other popular brands. I ordered a piscifun funder and the Goture Ares. After I had both of my possession I sent the Goture Ares back.

On arrival, I was impressed by the quality of fit and finish of the reel. Extremely smooth. I took it to my local sporting goods store and compared it to some name brand reels for smoothness, line capacity, drag and fit and finish. I’m happy to report that out of the box it was as good as reels in the $170 - $200 range.
I paired it with a heavy/medium rod for saltwater fishing and was not disappointed. It cast excellently. The magnetic break is an easy one thumb action , nice for adjusting between cast. It’s quick for when changing casting directions during windy conditions.
The line capacity is second to none. I used 30 Lb. braid with no problem. Only one birds nest , but that was my mistake for not increasing the magnetic break before casting into a cross wind.
The spool tension is nice and smooth to adjust. On a scale of one to ten , I only went to a 3-4 for the proper lure weight. ( even when using a double trout lure of approximately 3/4 oz. )
Only had a few minor but negative issues. One being the retrieve seemed to have a bur ( a slight catch ) in the gears, but didn’t affect the reels performance when retrieving fish. The other was a slight intermediate squeak that seemed to be coming from the crank handle shaft assembly. Like a dry “ O-ring “ , I will take it apart and add some reel oil and see if the issue persists.
Other than that, I couldn’t ask for anything better for the price .The Goture Ares-Max isn’t big in size and weight compared to a conventional drum reel for the amount of drag ( 22 lbs. ) and line capacity it has. Not much larger than a normal low-profile Baitcaster. It will bring in the big ones and not look back. Thumbs up to Goture. I’m happy and am buying another one for a friend. Great job Goture, keep up the good work.

The catch in the gears washed itself after adding a quality reel oil to the gearbox via the spool shaft bearing and the drainage port on the bottom of the gearbox housing. The gears are nice and smooth on retrieval now . Probably a small burr or shaving from production. Issue resolved.
The intermediate squeak coming from the crankshaft assembly also resolved itself after oiling.

Frankly speaking, I rarely make videos and post reviews for Amazon products, but I bought this Goture Ranger Baitcasting Reels, and after actual use, I really like this Baitcasting Reels, so I think it is necessary to introduce good products for everyone

for fishing, I use a p-line 15 pounds. From the video, you can see that the water drop wheel is very smooth and the line is in very good condition. I think this is most likely due to the Japanese NMB bearings. I have learned about this before. Bearings of the brand are very popular in Japan, and the technology of making bearings is also very superb.

Right now in California season just got open basically, getting warm and fish start to bite. It’s a pity that I didn’t fall into the fish, it's a pity that this baitcasting reel has not been able to show the actual effect of this baitcasting reel , but this baitcasting is indeed the best fishing reel I have ever used. I like it very much and highly recommend it.

I can't speak for how the reel will hold up as of yet but I will be sure to update this review once I get a chance to rip some lips when it gets a little warmer.

Complete junk. Seems nice but showed up un-functional. I’ve been trying to get it to work for 3 months now and every time I take it out it fails. The drag is caught somewhere and will not allow the reel to roll smoothly. Save yourself the money and go with something quality

A decently priced entry level bait caster. I found that it likes the break set high (7) on mine and once I had it out for a couple hours it felt really smooth. Had one birds nest first day with 20# braided spider wire. Removed it all and went to a 12# mono spider. For me it acted better. This really is a nice product and well worth the money. If you are new to bait casters it's a good one but remember to watch videos or be with friends who can teach you how.

I found this reel after seeing a review on you tube. I have never spent more than $100 for a bait caster so this was at the very top of my budget but after hearing this reel was good for saltwater I decided to give it a try. It is a little bit more on the heavy side but that makes me believe it is better made than some other reels with similar features. I got the cork handles and I love the way it feels. It has a larger spool than similar sized reels which attracted me to it as well. It does not have the audible click spool tension knob but neither do several of the big named brands. I have used it several times and it has performed just as good as my most expensive Lew's Mach II reel (which I got on sale). Everything about this reel seems very solid and if you are looking for a sub $100 bait caster I would give this a try. It came with a nice pouch and a couple of rod straps which was nice.
