Centrifugal braking systeam

For light lure casting and long distance casting, centrifugal braking is better than magnetic braking, while having lower stability. Especially in wind or dead wind, backlash can be caused easily. Casting reel with magnetic braking system has better stability while having poorer performance for light lure casting and long distance casting. In the initial section of casting, casting reel with centrifugal braking system has the maximum centrifugal force. Lure gradually slows in the flight. The revolving speed of spool also slows, and centrifugal force diminishes gradually. Once winding or airflow changing, lure slows suddenly. Revolving speed of spool will exceed than speed of wire outlet, resulting in backlash.

Magnetic braking system

Magnetic braking system - the initial speed and the force on spool in flight are the same as centrifugal braking. What difference is that when the balance between revolving speed of spool and the speed of outlet are broken, the function that spool cuts magnetic line of force and own magnetic force work in the meantime, slowing down spool and reducing the possibility of backlash.

I usually use 65 lbs braid casting line for muskies. How many yards of 65 lbs braided casting line will this reel hold?

Answer: Not sure of the exact yardage but I remember when I first bought this reel I had 65lb power pro and went down to 55lb to hold more line on the spool. Hope this helps.

Answer: It really needs to be attached to a baitcasting rod. You can do a 1 piece or 2, or using Goture Xceed travel fishing rod, it seem that match very well. I have 3 of these and all of them attached to a 7 foot Xceed rod. These are great reels, and super easy to adjust. Hope this helps!

Where is the reel made ?

Answer: I honestly can't tell you where this thing is made, however I've been doing a lot of research on larger spool low profile baitcast reels. And I did not want to spend$250 or even $150 because my past experience is most of the ones that I've purchased weren't that great anyway. My fish saltwater hard and I'll feel horrible if one gets ruined because I drop it in the sand or in rocks. I researched the piscifun Thunder, kastking Spartacus Maximus, Lew's Super Duty wide spool, and a few other popular brands. I ordered a piscifun funder and the Goture Ares. After I had both of my possession I sent the Goture Ares back.

The reel would barely turn and the micro adjust knob is missing. I noticed that there is some line coming out from the side of the spool, where the gears would be. Which is strange because I never put line on it. I'm guessing they sent me a reel that someone else had returned and never fixed the problem.

So far this reel has performed flawlessly. I am throwing topwater plugs with it and have caught several bass between1and 2 1/2 lbs. . It casts like the more expensive reels and it feels silky smooth. I fish in heavy river current. I particularly like the oversized handle and 7.1:1 gear ratio.

I found this reel after seeing a review on you tube. I have never spent more than $100 for a bait caster so this was at the very top of my budget but after hearing this reel was good for saltwater I decided to give it a try. It is a little bit more on the heavy side but that makes me believe it is better made than some other reels with similar features. I got the cork handles and I love the way it feels. It has a larger spool than similar sized reels which attracted me to it as well. It does not have the audible click spool tension knob but neither do several of the big named brands. I have used it several times and it has performed just as good as my most expensive Lew's Mach II reel (which I got on sale). Everything about this reel seems very solid and if you are looking for a sub $100 bait caster I would give this a try. It came with a nice pouch and a couple of rod straps which was nice.

I would recommend Goture bait casters for beginners because of the dual brake system. I have experienced very few backlashes with this reel and when a backlash did occur it was caused by my error. Buy this to learn how to use a bait caster. It is designed to fail...

The centrifugal brake retaining ring is flimsy
The handles wobble
The centrifugal brake dial does not have conspicuous indexing marks
The magnetic brake has poorly painted level markings I think a molded application is better than painted numbers.

The design of this reel makes it destine for failure. I was casting this reel on 05/27/2021 I purchased in or around 02/2020 this reel did not last under light conditions and I would not recommend buying. I still stand by what I like about this product but it is cheap and you get what you pay for. I got a poorly constructed reel.

The brake retaining ring wore out over time which enable the centrifugal brake components to slip when casting rod began making a loud squelching noise when casting.
See the last three photos of disassembled reel. I think if a better snap ring was used instead of original flimsy retaining ring this reel would hold it own against some of the other major brands .

My intention was to purchase a cheap reel to learn how to throw a baitcaster and I achieved that goal. I would not recommend this rod for anyone planning on doing serious fishing. Very disappointed in this product if you can afford better leave this one on the shelf..

The date of failure was 05/27/2021. I paired this reel with a Kastking rod, 10LB red cajun line, 1/2 oz. whooper plooper. I would not buy this reel if you intend on fishing with it is great for beginners to lean the concept of casting and how to operate the brakes.. In my opinion not intended for actual fishing.

This reel is just ok.
It does cast pretty far, but is quite loud when it casts with some vibration. I’m still not sure we’re it’s coming from.
Where it does shine is the duel brake system. I rarely backlash. It has been able to cast light crankbaits to heavy chatterbaits.
I wish the spool tension knob was indexed. It can back out easily if you bump it with a finger. I had to re-tighten a few times.
Drag does stick a little, but I’ll probably throw a little Cal’s grease to see if it’ll help. Probably lose a little of the drag’s power, but not a big deal.
Grips are nice and overall shape is comfortable to hold for all day fishing.
But still just barely an ok reel.

I would put this reel up against a nice quantum any day. It handles our small 4 to 12lb striper easily and bass are child's play for it. It also paired very nicely with a 2 meter angry fish casting pole...very good balance.

I’m used to baitcaster so I’m familiar with the adjustments to keep from backlashing. No matter what settings I have them on it will backlash if I don’t thumb the spool a lot. The adjustment knob by the drag is hard to turn and I’m thinking it’s maybe defective. I’ve messaged the seller and no response, this has been over 4 months ago
