Not a bad little reel, bought the 1000 series for my son's ultra light trout setup. I feel like it's more a 1500-2000 style compared to my Okuma Ceymar C-20 (Okumas 1000 series) see pics for comparison.... This reel does have good cast-ability, spins nice, drag has a nice feel to it. The only complaints my son and myself have with it is the handle and the line holder.... for the handle assembly the shaft itself is fine, but the big bulbous foam knob is annoying... It's like they stuffed a small bobber on the shaft and called it a day.... The line hold/stay is just a little brass button that doesn't stick out past the spool and doesn't hold the line at all, Other than small petty things, it seems pretty good

Received quickly! Y'all... This reel is light! I got the 4000 version in Gold. Wanted it to match with the Sougayilang Telescopic Spinning rod I ordered.
With the machined spool, it is braid ready. Spooling the line is just as smooth as the retrieve. No issues.
I paired it with 25# SpiderWire Stealth Braid and a buzzbait for my first day out with the set up. I took off to Baffin Bay, off the coast of Texas, south of Corpus Christi. They said salt and freshwater, so I was gonna put it to the test.
I hooked a couple speckled trout and some black drum. The 30# drag really made bringing both the trout and the drum in almost effortless.
Seriously... with the $30 for the reel AND the $30 for the rod, this was an amazing investment. I couldn't be any happier with the purchase.

Shipped fast - surprised at the quality since this is only $25 reel , however I had to take apart bail & adjust it to keep from eating line between roller & bail????

After filing down which was easy to remove the material being composite not cast pot metal . That was all the fine tuning needed . Extremely smooth reel matching the $100 reels I looked at , I ended up ordering 2 more of these in different sizes so if I get a years working time couldn’t ask for more - great price & product otherwise

This seems to be a good reel. I don't really have much to complain about but the handle (or ball) is big and i feel like it is weird and bulky. other than that though, it's smooth and seems heavy duty. only used once so far.

Reel feels and looks great. Works just fine. It is a cheap reel and great for the price. Anyone complaining about it locking up after a week, doesn't clean their reels. That will happen with anything if you dont clean em.

Had this for about a month now and made about 100 cast and caught 7 fish. Holding up really good I’m actually really surprised. Wish I would have gotten the 200 but 300 still works good on my 7’ bass rod. I can see it lasting a couple good seasons.

Needed to replace my #2 size spinning reel. I have other Sougayilang gear and it has been a good value and performed well. I took this reel to the catfish home today and a large turtle took the bait, WIth 4 lb lihe I was able to use the drag to bring it to the bank. I think it was a good test for this little reel. I feel the oversized cranking knob is a little too oversized, but it isn't uncomfortable. The real test will come when I' crappie fishing on Lake Toho and one of those monster Florida largemouth bass take the minnow!

I purchased this as a back up to my back up and it worked great. The only thing that bothered me enough to just spend a little more to not have to used this one is the handle itself just felt very cheap. It was a very hard foam and I just did not like the way it felt. I prefer the Winn grip designs or the t grip and this is some king of tear drop. I ened up fishing it for a few hours just because I wanted to see how it performed and the drag works well enough to catch 4 lb large mouth bass so no real worries there.
