Only issue with Sougayilang is the handle likes to comes loose, locktite fixed that issue. Solid reel and above average drag. The weight is not an issue, BUY IT.

Answer: I have not had any problems with my reel, Maybe you filled it to much and it doesn't stay within the groove for your fishing line. My reel works very smooth and doesn't stick while retrieving my fishing line. I wonder if when they put the spool on and they didn't put any grease on the gears?
Answer: Mine does not do either .... out of the box I always oil my reels and rinse them even after fishing as I fish a lot of saltwater. Also there is a specific way to load line on the spool of a spinning reel .... they have videos on YouTube that can help you with the bottom stick and lip roll.
Answer: I have the 2000 and my line loads towards the bottom as well, but only on the plastic spool (BTW that's not graphite). No problems with the retrieve.

All reels may not be adjustable though, and your reel may be set and not adjustable, but this information may be useful. I rarely write reviews for things like this. I buy a lot of fishing gear. i had a credit so I figured why not. the reel is nicer than some of my high-end reels. the handle is comfortable. its made out of metal and not plastic for the most part. I used it this morning. Had to lift a few 4lb bass up out of a quarry to unhook them. everything was fine.

The problem others have stated when the line goes over the spool is non existent in my model the Eva foam grip is amazing for those who palm or full and the grip like a surf reel. I've caught 5 fish already with it and It performed great. I loaded the standard spool with 6lb fluro and the extra with 20lb braid for salt fun and both work fine.

Not a bad reel for the money. I've fished it for a month or so in saltwater, and so far its been pretty good. Its a had a couple hang ups with the bail flipping closed when trying to cast, but other than that, its a very smooth nice feeling and looking reel. Time will tell how it holds up over time, but for the price, its gonna be hard to beat. Much better than the plussino reel I ordered at the same time, that thing was garbage. I got the 2000 and paired with a kastking perigee ml rod setup for redfish, flounder, and speckled trout.

Just received this reel, have not actually used it fishing yet, mounted it up on one of my crappie poles, it seems to be very well made, very smooth action, and very solid anti reverse, looking forward to putting some crappie in the boat with this reel, if anything different comes up I will redo this review, but I'm not expecting any problems with it.

A much higher quality product and they have exactly the same line capacity regardless of information provided. I don't know if the Sougayilang that I received had a defect or if they're all like that but on mine the drag wouldn't hold adjustment and when reeling in a moderately powerful pan fish it had a knocking sound. The over all size of it is more like a 2,000 size and the high bearing count does nothing but add weight and more maintenance. It is a smooth effective tool for the price but not the best.

This reel is awesome! It’s super smooth, fits perfectly, easy casting and the drag settings are very sensitive. It has the feel of a much more expensive reel. I’ve been a devout Shimano fan for over 25 years and this reel competes easily with them!

It is very smooth, but I kept getting a lot of knots in the line as I would cast. And the handle is now loose. And yes I have tightened the handle tension screw multiple times. Update the rod is binding up and getting hard to reel. I am getting tons of knots. Honestly I would like to have my money back or a replacement . UPDATE!! I have been contacted by the seller and they are sending me a replacement. So I’ve moved to 3 stars for the seller contacting me on their own. Will update once again once I test the new reel.

Okay reel, but this reel is corrodes easily if it gets wet. I had all of the screws rust on me after about three uses. Also, the spool knob has begun to rust on the inside as well.

Really like this reel. When i received it i was very impressed with the looks. Only negative thing i have to say is the chrome part on the heel of the reel had a stripped out screw hole and the cover fell off. It didnt effect the functionality of this reel though. The drag is butter smooth amd cast great. I put the reel on a 5ft ultra light i use for crappie fishing under bridges. I have caught a few 5lb bass with it and the drag worked better then some of my $ 75 on up reels. I will be buying more to replace my worn out reels. Over all great product .

This is probably my fifth reel from this company. I figure the Big Name Brands don't support my fishing addiction, so why get hung up on spending money on a name. I use these reels to build travel poles. Telescopic rods with lightweight reels. So far I am Very Impressed, and the action is Very comparable to my Penns, Abu Garcia, and Okuma rigs.

Really like this reel. When i received it i was very impressed with the looks. Only negative thing i have to say is the chrome part on the heel of the reel had a stripped out screw hole and the cover fell off. It didnt effect the functionality of this reel though. Great shipping and I ordered wrong seize but they credited it back and sent right seize. Feels great up ang loaded going fla. Next week hope it get ya work out, this is my third reel all great

This reel is so smooth. I have had way more expensive reels and this stacks up against them. I really like the extra ball bearing so there is no back play in the reel. It feels very well built and is great value for the price. Idk how they’re selling it for this price

LRH : Very smooth drag
Got it yesterday, went fishing from shore of Tampa Bay. Caught a 19 inch Permit on a goofy jig. Drag worked flawlessly. Landed fish and released it. Forgot to take a photo. Beautiful fish. Also caught a 14 inch Jack Cravelle and a snook. I took a chance buying this reel, but it is high quality. It casts a country mile. I use 12 lb. stren monofilament with 20 lb. leader. Take care of this reel and it will last years. The included extra spool is nice too.

*Updated*... Was contacted by the seller for a refund/return. At least they care enough to try and make it right. And aside from the spooling issue, which I fixed, it casts and reels smooth. Caught 2 bass last weekend with it.... Spooling it with line and noticed the line wasn't laying evenly across the spool. More at the back. Took the washer out and it helped a little bit but not near enough. Had to take a dremmel to the inside so spool so it dropped down further on the pin. Works good now!

I caught 3 carp with this reel. I put 20lb braided line on it. All 3 were in the 7lb range. Worked very well in fighting them. Nice and smooth retrieve. Drag worked well. So far so good. Will definitely buy a few more.

Just received this reel, have not actually used it fishing yet, mounted it up on one of my crappie poles, it seems to be very well made, very smooth action, and very solid anti reverse, looking forward to putting some crappie in the boat with this reel, if anything different comes up I will redo this review, but I'm not expecting any problems with it.

Very light and smooth. I was really pleased with how this reel performs. Not sure how it will compare to my Shimano and Daiwa reels that have caught thousands of fish but so for I like how light the body is and how smooth the drag is.
STICK UP KID : Good reel for the money
It's a good reel, quality and spins really smooth. My only issue is that for a 5000 size reel it seems a little small. Feels more like a 4000.

It is very smooth, but I kept getting a lot of knots in the line as I would cast. And the handle is now loose. And yes I have tightened the handle tension screw multiple times. Update the rod is binding up and getting hard to reel. I am getting tons of knots. Honestly I would like to have my money back or a replacement . UPDATE!! I have been contacted by the seller and they are sending me a replacement. So I’ve moved to 3 stars for the seller contacting me on their own. Will update once again once I test the new reel.

So far it's worked great. Just showed my buddy and now's he's ordering one. Got the 1000 size as we're in idaho and the fishing us finesse or bust right now. Can't wait for topwater!! You no what I'm talking about. Casts pretty good with micro jigs. Can't really say anything bad about it. I usually buy expensive reels and rods but figured what have I got to loose? 30 bones..

For the way it looki give it a 5 but quality and performance wise ill give it a 1star.. line dont even out on the reel theres a space top part of the reel.. after 1 day of using on a freshwater the smoothness was gone and when i opened it, it was rusty.. cant return it anymore coz tried it too late after i got it..

This reel is awesome! It’s super smooth, fits perfectly, easy casting and the drag settings are very sensitive. It has the feel of a much more expensive reel. I’ve been a devout Shimano fan for over 25 years and this reel competes easily with them!

I wish I could give it zero stars. I excitededly opened my package and proceeded to crank it (as anybody would do with a new reel). It was buttery smooth.......for about 4 cranks. At that point it stiffened up considerably and the spool wouldn't even go up/down anymore. Do not waste your money!! It's already on it's way back same day as delivered, and I just ordered a Lew's like I should have done in the first place.
