What is the difference between 10scb and 10scx besides the price?
Answer: The 10scx is preschooler with 6lb test, the 10 sub is spooled with 10lb test. I know it says 10scx but I don’t think it came with that? In addition the 10scb has a higher gear ration, thus a faster retrieve rate. Hope this helps.
Answer: I believe one is the under spin and one is the push bottom on top. I have both plus the open faced president. I like the under spin except the way it is geared cause it take more cranks to get your bait back in but if you never had the open faced one you would never know the difference. the under spin also you can change the handle from one side to the other. jim

Answer: I returned the president and got a Trion TRI10SC because the president cannot be reverse cranked to let out line if needed, like hooking yourself in the finger. The TRI10SC came with 10 lb line and it states the capacity of the 10 lb line at 75 yards.

Answer: Yes, it will handle 17 lb. line, but that is about the top of the range. It works best with 10 lb. Trilene. The reel does not like braided line.
Answer: I haven't tried 17# on it but I don't think it will work. My experience with other spin casters did not cast heavy line very well.

Answer: If you are accustomed to zebco, this reel is more in line with the 202 or 33 platinum.
Answer: This is a lightweight reel. Good reel but not for the rigors of catfish. Try a Zebco 303. Comes with 15 lb mono.
Answer: I had old zebco reels as you noted and they did not work well at all as they ages. I looked at this reel and took a chance and was very happy with size but especially how well the reel casted. Great reel and to answer your specific question - this reel is comparable to those and the size is about the same as the two zebcos you mentioned

Answer: I have the 10scb on a 6' medium ugly stick, works as expected, casts well, but keep it clean and lubed as with any reel. It's more the size of a good ol 303. Grandkids can use with ease, but rod length gets them mostly.
Answer: The "10" or "6" in the model number refers to the optimal line size it's desgned for. If it has a "U" in the model, it's an underspin. I got the 6uscx and think it's right sized for a 6# reel.
Answer: I’m not as knowledgeable as you on various models, but as a novice fisherman I find this reel to be “mid-size” I guess and very nice to use.

Answer: No, and be glad. Its worth your money to get better line that hasnt sat on the spool for a long time. Usually all curly and tangles, doesnt cast far from curls as well as being thicker diameter compared to better line. Its a blessing not coming with cheap line you pay for to get irritated at.

When I purchased this reel it was $20. It then doubled in price so I guess I caught it on sale. I am really impressed with the reel and it is not a cheap plastic one. It is all metal and should last a lifetime. I put 12 pound test monofilament on it and it cast smoothly without any snags or bird-nesting. I feel lucky to have got it for the price I paid and if you catch it on a similar sale it is a definite recommended buy. Even at the regular price it is a good reel if you don’t have time to wait to catch it on sale.

Kids amount us fishing enthusiasts will have some difficulties to use it. The reel performance is good and the materials used are durable. I couldn't observe a single line tangle of any sort. However, the main point against this reel is the crank.
Firstly, the crank is too short. You will have to spin it a lot and fast. Secondly, the crank loosens over time and i mean several times during a single fishing trip. You will need to constantly check it in order to avoid losing it while casting. A multi-tool in your pocket will be a must-have accessory if you have this reel on your rod.

While casting a Whopper Plopper lure recently using this reel, the release button jammed, rendering the reel useless. Upon further inspection, I found that the tiny plastic peg that maintains the spring that provides tension on the release button broke. I was frankly surprised to find a flimsy plastic peg being used for a part of the reel that is under constant tension and pressure. I purchased 4 of these reels last year and plan to retire all of them - I don't want to be in the middle of a fishing trip and experience a similar failure of the reel.

Comparing the Zebco Omega ZO2..This is a solid rig. Seems to be able to pull fish in relatively easy. The cast is smooth and long. Holds a lot of line. I switched the line out with 20lb braided Spider Wire and had no trouble with binding. I would say it’s worth the money. The upside to this versus the Zebco is the line capacity. The Zebco Omega has it beat on the retrieval. The product doesn’t retrieve as smooth. Kind of has a plastic feel. Additionally, after the cast there is a large gap between when you start reeling in and the line grabs. That part makes it hard for bass fishing. However, if you’re fishing for brim, crappie or catfish, this would make an excellent reel. It seems pretty durable and hasn’t lost its casting depth in the past month. I would recommend this product as a backup reel, or perhaps a lending reel for friends and family. Overall it is a good quality reel and beets the handle of a bait cast or open face reel.

Immediately liked this reel. Had a bass pro baitcast reel only 2 months old break one of the mounting rails off, made of cheap plastic. Pfleuger uses aluminum on this reel so that is a big plus! Casting is smooth and retrieval is easy and like butter as well. Opening it up it just looks well put together, not the typical junk of today. Will update later, but I have zero reservations about this reel. At this price, no way to go wrong, nothing compares.

This reel is very nice and compact. I used it yesterday for the first time and so far it’s awesome. Too early to report on durability so that’s the reason for the 3 stars but I’m glad I purchased it. It’s smooth, very easy to cast and handles a wide range of lure weights easily.

This reel works well. It casts a long way. The drag is smooth. All in all, a good purchase. Update to what I put in as a review right after receiving the reel new. After using this reel for 2 months on and off, I noticed the handle was working its way loose. I removed the outer cap covering the slotted shaft that holds the hand on, and upon removing the handle, discovered the handle itself was crumbling. Now I only used this rod for bass fishing. The largest bass caught with this reel was 5 lbs. If this reel will not hold up any better than this, who needs it! I should have stuck with the Zebco Reels. They go the distance. As for this Pflueger Reel, don't waste your money on this peice of junk!

Bought my first one 6 months ago and love it. A great reel. The best closed face reel I have ever used. I greatly prefer the Pflueger over the Omega and I own both. It's even better than my trusty old Diawa Goldcasts and I fished with those for over 30 years.
