Anyone have experience using these for surf fishing? How's it been working?Should I go 5000 or 6000 series for an 11ft surf rod?
Answer: These are made smaller than most reels. I bought the 5000 and they looked like a 4000. Get the 6000 so it would look more proportion with your rod or look for another brand if they don’t have anything bigger.
Answer: I would go with the 6000.. I have both.. Great reel! Strong as heck,,44lb drag, smooth..I have them set up on 8' Ripping Lips Supercats. I haven't had the chance to surf fish yet with them, but I have to 12' Moonsniper ready and waiting.

Q:
What is the difference between the 2000 and 3000 model I am going to be using a 12lb test line. Which one should I get?
Answer: Hello get the 3000 if you're using 12 mono. If your going with some type of super line you'll do fine with the 2000.
Answer: Based upon use of 12 pound test line, the 2000 would be the best choice.
Answer: About $3! Ha ha. There both basically the same. The 3000 holds a little more line and has a bit faster retrieval. It also will take heavier lines ( just in case). For the money I recommend the 3000. Good fishin!

Q:
Is the 5000 size OK for blues and stripers? I had a friend say it doesn't have enough line capacity.
Answer: I would go with a bigger size if you’re planning to buy this brand. Their sizes run small. I bought the 6000 and that might be too small for blues and stripers
Q:
Is this comparable to battle 6000. . Jigging for tuna
Answer: It’s a good reel but for tuna I’d go with the battle this ones a little to small
Q:
Show me the bearings.
Answer: No
Q:
could the 6000 be used for tarpon
Answer: I have used it on several Striper but nothing as potentially as large as Tarpon. I personally wouldn’t recommend it. I also have mine on a St.Croix 7’ medium heavy. One of the best rigs I have These reels are like butter. No issues with mine over the last year or so. Again I am a freshwater fisherman. Good luck and tight lines.
Answer: I have a 2000 and 3000. It maybe big enough I would not buy one of these again. I use mine for freshwater fishing. I find when I real up quickly it is not smooth and my line gets loops in it. The only way that happens is a wobble or speed changge.
Q:
is the 3000 model going to be back in stock soon?
Answer: Yes, the 3000 model will be back in stock within 2 weeks. Hope it works.
Q:
Can it be used for right or left handed people?
Answer: Yes it can. The handle can go on both sides.
Q:
Is this a real reel?
Answer: I have $100-$150 spinning reels that aren't made as well as this one is. It handles big River Smallmouth with ease and the drag works perfectly!
Answer: Haven’t gone fishing with it yet but liked the tight tolerances that were noted when spooling on line. I jig walleye and want reels where there is no slop or chunk going from forward to reverse. This reel fits that bill, we will see how it wears.
Q:
How is fit and finish compared with photos?
Answer: The fit and finish is actually better than in the photo, probably the nicest reel I've ever owned. Runcl reels do not disappoint!
Answer: Just like the photo. Great reel
Answer: Looks like the photo,, only problem is the bail sticks on retrieving your line
Answer: All I can say is this is a very nice reel ans extremely light weight......I love it!
Answer: Looks exactly as pictured.
Q:
How many ball bearings are in this reel I have bought others reels from runcl and they lie about how many ball bearings they are
Answer: Not sure but there's as many as you will ever need. Very smooth retrieve same as any other 10+ bearing expensive reels.
Q:
How much line will this hold. i have a 6000 runcl reel. i want to put powerbraid ultra durable braided line 30 lb
Answer: my RUNCL reel was broke when it arrived and I have never returned it or gotten to use it. I didn't open it right away but waited till closer to my trip and uponSorryI couldn't help you but I was gonna use mine with 50# braid for punching weeds in Florida.
Q:
It says 4 colors available. How do i pick the color?
Answer: Thanks for your question. The 4 colors are actually 4 models, hope it helps.
Q:
I have 30 pound spider wire would the 3000 be good with that line and for saltwater ?
Answer: I prefer to use the braided line. 3 strand, you choose your weight. I choose the 25 to 30 lb line cap. Iam very happy with this combination, Unless you have metal line guides on your pool, Id shy away from spider wire, as it will wear groves in those eyes and eventually leave a ware path in the eyelets, allowing other mono line to fray on those groves, especially on the TIP guide.
Answer: i fish creek. 10lb regeler line.4lb largemouth
Answer: Yes. I use 50lb invisibraid when I jig for black sea bass
Q:
what is best line weight for the 3000 and 4000
Answer: I use 6 to 12 pounds on the 3000 model.
Q:
What material is the handle made of?
Answer: The main part of the handle is made of metal and and knob is made of high density EVA, hope it helps.
Product reviews of RUNCL Spinning Reel Titan II, Fishing Reel - Full Metal Body, Max Drag 44LB, 5 Carbon Fiber Washers, 9+1 Shielded Ball Bearings, Braid-Ready Spool, Hollow Out Rotor - Saltwater & Freshwater Fishing
Mekae : Titan 1 6000
I got the 6000 for crab snaring at the beach. It went on a 15ft. surf ugly stick with 50lb braid and a 8.5oz crab snare and it worked excellent. It release's line fast and the gear ratio is perfect for reeling in fast with the incoming surf, and reeling in a heavy double catch was no problem. This is an excellent saltwater reel. I have three other surf and pier fishing poles, each one will be getting RUNCL reels very soon.
MN Mark : Not the quality I expected from all the good reviews.
Admittedly I have never tried this real as I plan to return it immediately. The reel appears to be nothing as advertised. First, they claim gears are protected. The first 2 photos show holes that sand and water will get right into. The first photo it is hard to see but there are openings next to the frame. I doubt this reel would make it through 2 trips surf fishing. The 3rd picture is something the description sorely lacks. 150m of 0.5 mm line. That translates to 164 yards of 25 lb test. About 80% of what a 6000 reel should hold. Pictures 4 and 5 are the reel in comparison to a Penn Spinfisher 6500. Once again it is about 80% the size of that reel. Like I said, I didn't use the reel but I truly have no idea where all the positive reviews came from. I own a Penn Fierce 3 that costs roughly the same as this reel and it is likely twice the reel this is.
Orleans1971 : Wow
This reel is an absolute surprise. Bought it on Cyber Monday because it was on sale. Thought that it would be a mediocre reel. I am eating my words right now. It is solid. Metal frame, but lightweight. The drag is really strong and it cranks nice and smooth. The rotor and spool are well balanced. The 3000 holds plenty of 30lb braid. Wish the spool was braid friendly. Still had to use a little mono as backing, but not a big deal. This reel is actually worth the full asking price, but if it is on sale, don’t even hesitate.
Shane Coon : Makes fishing affordible
I really really like the quality and look of this product. I made an unboxing video for it upon getting it. I had to go out the next day and buy a matching rod to go with it. I can not wait to get it out and try it!
cndboy : Wobbly when fast reel causing looping
This is a really light reel. But is way smaller than I thought. The spool wobbles when you reel fast causing looping that is frustrating.
Michael R. Gordon : Titan Reel
Received as described and appears to be well made. Nice looking and will look nice on my Lamiglass spin pole.
Joe Ragz : FISHERMEN READ ME! Get the truth! **updated 9/10/21**
Update!! The reel did great. I cranked blues and spanish back in the spring so much my arms got sore. The reel cranked them up and over the rail with no issues whatsoever. The retrieve speed was impressive as well. 70 yard casts were back to me really quick. Would give it a thumbs up.**So here is why I ordered this particular reel. I am an avid saltwater fisherman. I live in central VA, but frequent the NC outer banks several times a year. Offshore, inshore, pier and surf. I particularly like pier fishing late april through june which is coming up soon. Today is 3/8/21. When the blues and spanish mack start to run good Im there. Anyone who also does this knows that your reel takes a beating using it as a winch to get fish up and over the rail. I have shimanos, abu’s, pfleuger. Not top notch gear but not cheap by any means. And its usually paired to a St Croix rod, or any brand rod that is a cut above. The absolute worst thing that will make me a Christian man cuss like a heathen and have parents ushering their children away from me on the pier is gear failure. That goes for cheap reels, cheap rods, cheap line. If I lose a fish to the elements, get bit off, etc. doesn't bother me a bit. I will breathe a big sigh bait up and start slingin again. But let my line pop for no good reason, the handle wring off the reel during a good fight, the rod tip snap, and you bout to see a man lose his temper. I work too hard and invest too much time and money to have that crap happen. Which it has. And it really has not been instances where I skimped or cut corners to save a dime. Anyway... the appeal of this reel to me was the drag tension rating. I hope to have no issues cranking up 3-5 lb spanish with the reel. It is fairly smooth. A couple more ball bearings and this could easily be a $200 reel. Its CNC’d aluminium body all the way to the rod seems rock solid. I dont look for it to snap at the spine too easily like graphite. I included a picture of the reel paired to a new Penn Prevail II 7’2” medium heavy fast rod. Should really get those Gotcha plugs to zig zagging good. Spooled the reel with 20lb test Sufix green mono. I usually am a braid man, but wind knots have gotten me several times over the past couple years, so for this rig I chose mono. The shimanos and garcias will be right there as back up rigs with 15 lb power pro braid. The picture is with a ruler and a standard can of WD40 to give you reference to the size of the RUNCL 6000 reel. All in all I have a good feeling about it. It does NOT feel cheap or crappy. Im gonna give it 5 stars for fit and finish. The bail flips over almost effortlessly when you start to retrieve as well. The proof will be in the pudding next month though. I will give an update.
David Morrill : smooth drag and easy reel function.
This reel has functioned well on my trip to fish Northern Pike. It handled 36 inch pike well. During the first 3 or 4 fish fights, when a significant amount of drag is used, we had to make a slight adjustment tighter to get back to the setting we had before. This seems to have been needed because of initial breaking in of the drag clutches. After that tuning period, it works perfect. I had to resist buying other sizes to replace my other reels. You want a quality reel for less than 1/2 of the big names get one in the size you need!
BadMonkey0001 : Flips the bail constantly
This felt like a decent reel when it arrived, but on its first trip to the surf started flipping its bail. Now it flips the bail constantly. I have since retired it to my "loaner" freshwater pole. Maybe someone will borrow it and never return it. I wouldn't care if they did.
Patrick Scaramucci : Not as big as I expected for a 6000 series reel
I bought a 6000 series real thinking it would be decent sized. When I opened it it looks like a 3000 series reel. It looks nice and seems built pretty well, but I was expecting a bigger sized reel than what I got. Like I said it looks like my 3000-4000 reels in terms of size
Quanita Vaughn-Byrd : Good quality
My husband absolutely loves it
Lypiphera : Prefect for the fishing enthusiasts
I am avid Fisher woman. I'm always looking for a great deal for fishing supplies. When I came across this one I had to give it a try. It is an aluminum reel with any plus. It has 9+1 double bearings. It has aluminum drivetrain and brass gears for durability. What sold me was the carbon fiber washers, it can hold up to 44lbs of drag! Yes, I'm extremely happy with this reel. It only weights 8.8oz this 8s nowy go to reel over my major name brand ones
Michael R. Gordon : Titan Reel
Received as described and appears to be well made. Nice looking and will look nice on my Lamiglass spin pole.
brianperfilio : False advertising, not full metal, not 44lbs drag
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!! item is not as described. Description says full metal body. This is not full metal. Lots of plastic parts. Cheaply made and overpriced. I bought 1 of these and another similar less expensive one from another seller... the items were clearly from the same manufacturer and were identical in packaging, user manual and item. Also the listing says 44lbs of drag, but that is also a lie... avoid this item and buy something else.. you are welcome
walter collins : You need to see it to believe it.
My reel arrived on time. I bought the 2000 size reel. This reel is absolutely beautiful, and has a sweet action. It casts a country mile with ease. This is far and away my most favorite reel for well over a year now. I strongly recommend this product.
Candace K : Smooth operating
Got this for my dad for Fathers Day. He is a big fisher and had asked for a new reel. He really loves this reel. He said it operates smoothly both casting and reeling in. It attached to his pole easily too. Everything about this pole is a win.
chicago lou : Sturdy and light weight
Not overly large for a size 5000. Haven't tried it yet. After a few trips I'll give another review.
Randy "RT" : Works very well, seems to be top notch!
This is a beautiful looking spinning reel. Arrived well packaged and even came with a nice "velvet-like" bag. Unsure what it was for but it looks nice. I wound up 150 yards of 12 pound test, grabbed my tackle box and headed for the bass pond. From the first cast the reel felt solid, action smooth, retrieval was easy. I ran a few top baits with no response so I switched to a spinner, again the reel worked flawlessly. I didn't catch anything but the reel performed well and the only thing that keeps me from the five star rating is the price. Let me say this reel is competitively priced and works as intended. It's just, for me, fishing is becoming as expensive as golf, and I gave that up last summer. Bottom-line, this is a solid and well functioning piece of fishing equipment. I purchased some lures from this same supplier last year and they have performed admirably, just as I expect this reel will continue to.........if I can afford to go.
JJF : Awesome Reel!
After reading all the reviews, ended up buying this reel, sealed the deal with good value!

Roll 4 Critical : Absolutely excellent quality for the price!
I've bought RUNCL fishing products before and have never been dissapointed, this time was no exception! This reel is absolutely buttery smooth to operate. I'm serious, it's so smooth you won't realize you're spinning it! This reel operates amazingly and looks great on a red or black reel as well! I highly recommend this reel if you're a novice to professional fisherman! Operation is simple and the build quality is rock solid! Seriously this reel still feels absolutely brand new after a few accidental dips into the beach (oops)! I was able to reel in some decent sized fish from the pier and even off the highway in the keys! I have absolutely no negative things to say, just make sure you do your regular maintenance after every fishing trip and they will take care of you for a long time.

Kenny : Great reel, handles big fish and big bait with ease.
I've used this reel for a few months now with 30lb 4-strand backing whatever leader I need and I'm impressed with the versatility. So far with the Titan II I've caught my PB Walleye jigging a 3/4oz jig/swimbait, several 5+lb bass on senkos, several catfish over 10lbs with big chunks of cutbait, and my best common carp at 23.5lbs just a few nights ago on good old fashion corn. Casts like a dream on a 7' Cadence MH, and even that tank of Carp barely gave the drag any kind of challenge. Fished in the cold, the pouring rain, dusty high winds, and now some much hotter days in full sun and the weatherproofing seems to be holding up as advertised. Good luck finding a better reel for the price.
B. Groves : Good Smooth Reel
I've only fished it a couple times, saltwater 90ft on the bottom, but it's done well pulling up snapper from the deep. We'll see how long it lasts....
Stefanie : Not bad at all!
I enjoy the foam handle. It has a very smooth operation. It’s more smooth than my Zebco. The size is nice, I purchased the 3000. The weight is a little on the heavy side, but it’s actually quality so it’s to be expected. It doesn’t affect performance. It hasn’t fallen apart. I fish daily with it.
Fred : Needed a little something but great reel
So far I love it. Smooth action and great speed. Needed a little lubrication before it ran perfectly but after that I absolutely love it. Would have been nice it it came like that but still like it
Heather Sanders : So far...excellent!
Purchased for my husband who has really appreciated the Titan II 3000. He says it’s smooth and well balanced. He easily hauled in several 2-4 pound bass with it yesterday!
Javier Munoz : Keep getting asked what reel I have
Have used this reel for 2 months now, and have 25 pound braid in it. Pulled a 22 inch Red Fish with it so far, haven’t tested it with anything bigger yet. But people at the fishing spot ask how much I paid, and get surprised at 50 dollar price tag lol
Draco76123 : Very nice reel
I had a spare fishing rod lying around so I bought this reel to make a set. Runcl makes some decent fishing gear at pretty good prices. It seems well made and was very easy to spool line on it. I put 150m of 6lb florocarbon line on it that I also had lying around. Packaged with the reel was a nice reel bag, it's a velvet like material but not really velvet, but it does the job of keeping it safe while stored. The reel itself seemed pretty solidly built, no rattling noises if you shake it and the spinning was very smooth. The reverse brake works exceptionally well too, no play in the handle at all if you try to reverse it. So far, I'm glad I bought it, seems comparable to more expensive spinning reels on the market. I will update when I take it fishing this weekend with some frogs that I also purchased from the same seller. Hopefully I'll have an opportunity to take a picture of some fish to post up.
Tw. : Not for shore / surf
Gears broke first trip out using a 2.5 oz weight. Largest fish on was less than a lb.
Stephanie Wilson : GREAT BUY
PURCHASED THE 4,000 TO PUT ON MY UGLY STIK G2 AND IT LOOKS AND FEELS AMAZING!!!
Tamara Repsher : Fell apart within 3 uses!
This reel fell apart after only using 3 times. The nut that is supposed to lock the reel body came loose and can’t be tightened back down because it pops loose(stripped?)at a certain point. Therefore you can’t get it tight enough and the reel literally wobbles to an extreme amount and feels like it will fall apart. Really disappointed after reading all the good reviews. Very bad craftsmanship on this.
Shannon : Super Performance Reel!!
What can you say about a reel that delivers every time you use it? I ordered this reel close to a year or more ago and i have used it over 100 times in that time frame! I have never once had any issues with the reel. The grip still feels great and the body of the reel always feels sturdy with the highest quality. This reel has easily reeled in over 200-300 fish at this point and it has not worn out or has any failures at all. I have used this reel from everything from Crappie and bass up to 50+ lb shark, blue fish, mullet and more!
I recommend this with all the confidence a hard core fisher man can! Don't think twice, hit that buy now button!!!!
saad : Price and charging carrier are too expensive for this reer
I was thinking it will be bigger than this size its too expensive
If i buy it from our market will be less than this price any way thanks
Amazon4Me : Hubby loves it
I bought this for my husband as a Father’s Day gift and he loves it. He went on a fishing trip with a few of his friends the next day and did quite well. He was impressed with the quality and features of this reel.
Jennie : QUALITY WORKMANSHIP
I WAS REALLY IMPRESSED WITH THE OVERALL QUALITY, VERY SMOOTH, METAL FINISHES VERY GOOD QUALITY, WILL USE IT SURF FISHING ON TEXAS COAST THIS WEEK.
Gnome67 : could have been a 5 star but....
I used this a week ago and stripers are biting by the pier. After catching about 20 undersized fish, I noticed the handle started jamming so i inspected it and the handle came a little loose and the shank cover that is made of plastic was cracked. I asked the community on the item listing where i could find a replacement part but no answer yet. Runcl replied to me asking my order number and that they would look into it. That was a week ago and haven't heard anything since. I will update this review once I hear something from the seller.
Jr : Great reel for the price... perfect size for surf/pier fishing
Reel is lightweight. Very easy to cast multiple times without wearing you out... felt sturdy and the handle grip is slightly bigger for a better grip.. used it on the pier to cast jigs and can’t wait to use it on the surf..
Michael : Strong
It's made of aluminium alloy, but it's not heavy at all. The pulley rolls smoothly. The important thing is that the scroll is very strong.
Mentl : Happy with my purchase
This reel is light but definitely sturdy. It is actually quite a bit lighter than I expected. I am not one that cares that much about a reel being super light. I am no wussy and a bit of weight to a reel never bothered me as long as the reel was study. This one, to my surprise, is both…not going to argue with that. The casts and retrievals are silky smooth which I assume is due to the number of bearings they loaded into this thing. Not going to complain in the least about that, either. Today I was using a RUNCL frog, which I normally would use with my baitcaster, cast a good long ways even with the evening breeze picking up. The grip on the handle is the same material as the grip on the handle of my rod so it is not likely to slip if it gets wet. Carbon fiber drag discs impressed me as did the total drag of 44lbs. Now, a drag of 44lb is probably overkill for this size of a reel, but it gives some serious versatility to this reel that I could not find in other reels I looked at. While I mainly bought it for bass and pan fish, it would allow me to throw this thing on a heavier duty pole and do some serious catfishing if I wanted to…and I just might. Overall, I am happy with my purchase. I uploaded a couple of pics of some late afternoon fishing I did today. I did not pull any in, though I got some great hits on that frog, but that is the fisherman’s fault, not the equipment. ????
Robert : smooth ball bearing action
I was first impressed with the detailed parts diagram that is included. It will make maintaining my fishing reel much longer. The bushings and ball bearings appear to be made of quality materials as the motion is quiet, consistent and almost effortless. The grip has a soft texture helping fingers to grip when wet. I used it last weekend to catch several rainbow trout here in Colorado. I encountered no issues and line replacement was quick. I plan on buying more products from RUNCL now that I see their level of value.
tim pickering : Excellent
Runcl makes Excellent products
ole skool vp : The perfect morning with the perfect reel!
The time was 330am waking up on a cool and crip Saturday morning. Making coffee and breakfast coming up with the game plan of the day. 430am out the door on the way to the fishing hole to try the days luck. The sun was just coming up over the Horizon. The birds were chirping it was the perfect time of morning. The first casted gose out and it's time to wait. Then boom here come the first rock bass! The game is on. So iv been useing the the new runcl titan 2 6000 for just over a week now. I must say it was well worth the money! The cast with it is beautiful and smooth. The drag is easy to change at a moment notice. When your reeling a fish. Its buttery smooth to reel in too. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new fishing reel
Dustin : Excellent reel
Excellent reel. The reel cast very well and is very smooth. I highly recommend this reel. I will definitely be purchasing another one to have as a spare or to set up with different line.
Michael : Strong
It's made of aluminium alloy, but it's not heavy at all. The pulley rolls smoothly. The important thing is that the scroll is very strong.
walter collins : You need to see it to believe it.
My reel arrived on time. I bought the 2000 size reel. This reel is absolutely beautiful, and has a sweet action. It casts a country mile with ease. This is far and away my most favorite reel for well over a year now. I strongly recommend this product.
Fred : Needed a little something but great reel
So far I love it. Smooth action and great speed. Needed a little lubrication before it ran perfectly but after that I absolutely love it. Would have been nice it it came like that but still like it
Jay F. : Good price
It's bigger than what I thought it was so make sure you have the proper rod to use it on . I have not been able to use it on the water yet but the times I have casted it in the yard seems to be a good reel .
you can compare the product price from Costco, wayfair, bestbuy, lowes, target, homedepot, Walmart, ebay, amazon to find the best price for you
