Answer: I think it can. I was able to cast Arkie Twist Tail jigs about 15-18 yards. This is with 10lb test braid and using a medium heavy rod. If your intent is to use a true bfs or ultra light rod I think you will be able to get better distance. I hope this helps...tight lines!

Answer: To this date there is not.The only spare spools provided by Piscifun is one for the Torrent, which is too big and a BFS spool for the Phantom that has a centrifugal brake system.

Answer: I have never fished for peacock bass, but I don't think this reel can hold enough heavy line and it was not really designed to cast big lures. It's better suited for lighter lures and small line.

What would be a nice rod for this?

Answer: I’ve paired mine (6:8:1 ratio)with a 6th Sense Milliken MFer 7ft medium heavy rod. Excels for chatterbaits, hair jigs, Texas rigs, small cranks, and the occasional upscaled Neko rig. Another slightly cheaper rod option is the Piscifun Serpent 7ft medium heavy which will do the same thing. The 6th sense rod is around $120 and the Piscifun 1 piece is around $90. I believe Piscifun makes a 2 piece rod at $70. All work really well with the more expensive rods having slightly better action and sensitivity.

Answer: My reel is on a medium heavy Wright & McGill Trait Lady Pro Advantage rod (LOL!!!), but this reel has a shallow spool. For this reason it can work on a BFS style rod (light to ultra light) but a M, MH will do just fine if you want skip jigs and other lures.

Answer: I am not an avid Baitcaster reel user, just learning..I am using the Spark Pro a little different than most..I have set the combo up for the smaller Catfish that I target for consumption, (3-8lb), with the potential to handle a much bigger fish. There is a 50/50 chance a 20+lb will hit this setup.. I initially spooled it up with 20lb braid but it is so thin, that with my inexperience with Baitcaster reel, I had a RealReel problem..I now have it spooled with 8strand SeaKnight in 40lb and it is working great.I figured that if the reel has a 16.5lb drag it should be fine. With 40lb,, I have about 80yrd.

Isaac Engle : Good but better reels available at this price range

I am an avid fan of Piscifun and own quite a few of their products from their serpent and elite rods to the phantom and alijos reels. I’ve tried other Chinese knock offs and most well known companies at various price points. One thing that I have enjoyed about Piscifun is that they offer a quality unique product at a lower price point than other manufacturers and their models often have more features. The Spark Pro is a good reel but here is why I think there are better options in this price range:

At $70 they are now competing with companies like Lews, Daiwa, etc. The reel performs well but doesn’t perform mechanically up to par as other brands in the same range. For the cost you are purchasing this reel for the paint scheme, carbon fiber handle, and EVA knobs. I suppose if matching rod colors or appearance is important than its worth the price tag. I tend to swing toward more solid reels. Any of the current Lews speed spools in this price range out perform the spark mechanically in my humble opinion. I did like that the spark was well oiled when I received it, that seems to be a rarity these days.

I also noticed typos on mine regarding the line capacity. The L in pounds appears to be a number 1. doesn’t affect the performance but it shows the lack of quality control on some of these reels.

Overall: If you are looking for a reel with a fancy paint scheme, carbon fiber handle, and foam knobs this is for you. Just don’t trust the incorrectly printed line capacity on the chassis! if you want a more mechanically sound reel I would suggest spending your hard earned $$$ elsewhere. There are many better options in this price class from more established manufacturers and from Piscifun as well. Function over finish for me.

I was so excited about this product. It came completely assembled. I simply tied on my line, put on the reel and went out on the river to fish. I was fishing off a boat for small mouth, when the entire bearing on the one side that keeps the spool shaft in place, just fell right off and into the water. Now it is unusable. I'm not hopeful about my ability to just replace the part that fell off and I'm very disappointed that something for this price was not properly assembled resulting in this incident.

First of All,, I must say that this reel is awesome..I have pretty big hands and it is so small..I Catfish mostly, and while targeting BIG fish with Big Rigs, I always have a couple of Rigs targeting the 3-8lb range. The little Spark Pro and the 6' Medium combo are perfect for this bracket but, be known that this reel is capable of much more.I have only fished the Spark Pro and it's PB is a 6.5lb Blue Cat.

I am extremely new to Baitcaster reels so my *backlash ratio* is higher than it should be with this reel. In the hands of a Pro, I can only imagine the performance..

This is a great reel for the money. It's lightweight and smoother than I expected it to be. It doesn't feel quite as solid as my Shimano SLX, however it didn't cost as much either. The only minor gripe a have is that the spool capacity with thicker line (50lb braid) is quite low. I respooled with 10lb and it's perfect. I've only had it out a couple times but it's landed fish just fine.

I got this one for my leftie son to have a more enjoyable fishing experience. He has never loved fishing because he’s had to use his non dominant hand and it feels foreign to him. This was easy to change after already doing one. It casts so nice, I’m jealous and want mine switched again - ha! He’s a much happier Fisher now. He says it’s smooth to cast and reel back. It holds a decent weighted fish with ease. The low price is definitely deceiving! I would’ve thought this one was much more expensive. Let’s see how long it holds up.

I am pleasantly surprised how great this thing is. This thing casts FAR.

It casts further and is easier to control backlash than my Shimano Curado DC which costs $200 more. It’s also lightweight and looks great.

The only downside is it has pretty limited line capacity. I put 40lb braid and was only about to spool about 50-60 yards. 10lb mono will get you about 100. If you use it as a finesse reel with light line it shouldn’t be a problem.

I recommend this to anyone especially if you’re on a budget.

I like Piscifun as there are a cheap option to get into the hobby of fishing. The spark pro arrived fast and I put it to work in no time. The case is plastic, but so what. It looks cool and functioned very well. You can cast this think a mile and it won’t back lash if you have it setup right. It’s very slim and comfortable to hold while fishing. It’s not bulky like my other bait casters. I do have a torrent made my Piscifun and love that one too. I just can’t justify spending over $100 on a reel, so Piscifun allows me to have a good reel at a hell of a price!

This reel is simply a pleasure to fish with. Super lightweight and smoooooooth. I mean like the smoothest reel I’ve ever used. No backlash issues at all and feels so good in the hand. The color, while not at all important to catching fish is stunning to look at. It changes from metallic purple to metallic blue depending on the light angle. Very slick piece. Frankly, the current rod I put on it isn’t up to par for this reel. Probably going to upgrade the rod soon.

Don't buy a BFS reel until you try this one. You will thank me. This is the best BFS baitcaster at this price point and higher. You have to use it to believe it. Piscifun makes excellent fishing gear.
Great castability for 1/8 oz. baits. Strong and smooth drag. The breaking system works excellent. Spool tension is easy to setup.
This is finness heaven. You have to get a $250.00 Shimano to do better.

OK first of all let's get this out of the way: its a really cool color. OK I said it... I've never bought a fishing reel because of the color, but I have to admit the cool purple wash on this is pretty neat! OK with that out of the way, lets talk about performance...

This reel is small and lightweight - easy to palm and the retrieve is very smooth. In fact the quality of the operation seems to conflict with how light this reel is at this price point. (I tend to equate quality with weight at this price point. 0 (think Abu Garcia of the 1980s)

The retireve is good and fast for ripping small topwater plugs, but its not so fast that you can't finesse a shaky worm through the weed beds.

The magnetic braking system really works quite well, and I am able to set the "cast control" (magnetic brake) so that when my 1/4 oz lure hits the water surface, the reel immediately stops spooling. Does it 100% prevent backlash? No. I'm not sure there is a reel at this price point that does that anywhere, but this operates as well as any high-end Shimano or Daiwa reel I have.

I have not hooked any monsters yet (unfortunately) so I can't speak to the effectiveness of the drag, but in testing by hand it feels like it is smooth and linear in terms of adjustment.

Overall, a very good value and surprisingly not a "cheap" feeling reel at all. Far better than what you'll find at this price point in a big box sporting goods store.

Got this Piscifun Spark Pro for my wife, Is her first baitcasting reel. Works great so far. I am impressed with how light it is. I even found her a 6 ft 6 in rod that almost matches it, spooled it with some 12 lb mono. It is by far lighter than my Shimano SLX DC. Just be aware that has a small reel on it so only holds less than a 100 ft of the 12 lb mono.

All in all is a great reel! I will be getting me a Piscifun soon!

Anthony Klepic : Can’t spool enough line needed for bass fishing.

Casts and retrieves BEAUTIFULLY! BUT the spool is so large if you put 12 lb fluorocarbon on it you can only get about 70 yards. I’d feel better with 100. Need to be able to spool more line than that. This could be a 5 star reel but due to this issue I can only give it two. Maybe it will do for just flipping and pitching.

This reel is beautiful and very light with good ergonomics.
However, That is where my positives for this reel end.
My reel would not spool no matter what I tried. The spool just would not spin. I’m sure this isn’t very common in Piscifuns reels but at the very least the quality control isn’t great based on the reel I received. I still have it 2 stars because I really like the way it looks. I’m just sad I was unable to use it on my first trip out.

I'll start first by appearance-the paint on mine looks sloppy and smeared, also the logo does as well.
The second is spool size-putting a .24mm mono line on this i was only able to put on 80yrds which is a far cry from the claimed 109yrds.
The third which is the feel of the adjustments-i bought a 45 dollar Abu García combo from Walmart and it feels better than the drag and brake on this one.
The fourth is casting-is does cast fairly well easy to control and action does feel pretty smooth, definitely like that about this reel.
The fifth is over function, sits low to the rod It retrieves line smoothly, the line does tend to keep spooling up more on the right side of the spool, thats with both sizes of line ive tried on it.
Over all its in that price bracket that I would just spend another 50 bucks and get something a bit heavier duty in the same class of reel, next time I buy a bait caster. Also I would classify this as a lite, not a medium in any sense.

The durability after fishing 6 different spots has proven to be great, the line still spools on the right side much more than it should, I have refined it 3 times now hoping that would fix it, but not so far. Still with .21 mm line on now it still only holds just over 95 yards of line.

This reel is great. Very easy to set up and adjustments are easily made. The brake control is very forgiving. The only thing I would change is the grips. They are a little larger than I'm used to. All in all I would purchase again.

Used it two times so far. And it doesn't always disengage when you push down to cast.
I'm not a beginner.
It just seems to catch on something when you try to cast.
