Answer: NOTE: if you spool the line from the wrong side of line spool you will add twist to the line! If you slack the line and it makes a loop (twists) you need to turn line spool over. If not it causes problems with tangles and loops on reel spool. If spooling a bait cast reel you need to add an axle to line spool to unwind direct.
Answer: You will want to use a decent line anywhere from 6-10 lb test. Simply tie the line around the spool, some say the type of knot matters, I say if you are down to the knot on your spool, you have bigger problems than the type of knot. Make sure the bail is open before you tie the line on. Close the bail and keep gentle tension on the line. Reel at a comfortable speed until the line is about 1/8” from completely full. This reel goes well we a 6.5” or 7” medium action rod but you could go bigger or smaller with the rod depending on if you purchase the 2000 or 4000.

i picked up a sougilyang spinner reel for $20, comes w spare spool and overall feels great. felt more like a $40-50 reel. i have a few kastking reels i nabbed for $50 and felt like $80... even one that had issues outta the box cuz incorrect assembly was still awesome after i fixed it.
the plussino reel however did not get that same emotion.
at first glance, its a gorgeous reel. definitely looks like a $80 reel. my buddy’s cheapo $15 reel? definitely looked cheapo with plastic parts falling off. so the plussino has that, along with a smooth retrieve.
its biggest issue was the drag and some really sharp edges... and its heavy!
the drag was a mess. i had to take apart the drag completely and found metal shavings in the felt. there were also some imperfections and cross threading happening here and there. even with it cleaned out, drag was still super rough. wasnt till i added some drag grease that it gotten smoother.
then the sharp edges. the machining on the spool looks “sharp!” haha puns - the slotting in the spool is literally sharp. i had to go across it a few times with some ceramic rods to clean and smooth it out.
its also a pretty heavy reel for its size - wished i paid attention to that. whereas other reels of this size are in the 8-10 oz range, this feels much heavier.
am i happy with it? meh. its what i paid for so i cant complain (but i just did complain! lol) - it’ll suit its purpose as a backup reel. its just, i was hoping for the same fit/finish and waulity reel vs some of their other competitors which ive had good luck eith.

NC Coast : Great product
I recently purchased 4 of these after reading the positive reviews and the reasonable price. The reels were received in just a few days after ordering on Amazon. Out of the box, the reels were very sharp looking and did not disappoint regarding appearance. Visually, the reels easily compare to other much higher priced models. The reels were smooth and had the feel of a quality product. After reviewing, I purchased two more of the reels, since I try to keep several available for when we have visitors that would like to go fishingon the East Coast. I am looking forward to trying out, fishing for reds and trout in Eastern North Carolina. I will try and post a video soon after. Take care and happy fishing.

Overall, the reel is very sleek. It rotates cleanly and spreads the line evenly on the reel (something I’ve had problems with on many other reels). The reel itself can hold up to 10lb line so it will be good for most of your fishing needs!
Another thing that I really like about the design is that you are able to switch between which side you want the handle to be on. Most rods come preequipped with right handed knobs but I prefer to reel with my left hand and hold the rod with my right. It is a small detail but I think any fisherman who is just beginning to test the waters will greatly appreciate that option.
This product also comes with a velvet carrying bag which is kind of nice. Most people typically just keep their reels on their rods for the entirety of their life time; however, the bag offers you a chance to either store this reel or a reel you may be taking off one of your other rods so that it won’t be subject to any weather damages it may go through otherwise.
Overall, I really don’t have anything negative to say about this product. After testing it out and giving it a try, it definitely feels well crafted and is better than most of the reels I already have. I highly recommend this product to anyone who’s looking for an inexpensive yet effective piece of fishing equipment!!

The reel seems to be a notch up over other reels priced in the same group. Very smooth and precise operation, and well balanced. Looking good too. It is a little heavier than my other reels, but it seems a good trade off. I have only used it once but I am very happy so far. It will likely end up being my go to reel for me for fresh water fishing.
One minor issue is there is a point where you cannot open the wire release (it is locked). It seems to position it self there more often than one would expect. I think a fix may be to reposition the handle a little (handle can be inserted at multiple positions) to see if it eliminates the locking of the release when ready to throw. Gadget Guy : You Will Want to Show This Baby Off
Lots of reviewers have been talking about how smooth this PLUSINNO Fishing Reel is and how well built it is. Both of which are very true. I've never owned a reel that operated this smoothly and was this light. But what I want to highlight is just how good it looks! I love the black and gray aluminum, the angles, and the cutouts. I'm going to love showing this off to fishing friends and after they are suitably impressed, telling them how much I paid for it! I've checked out our local fishing supply store and any reel close to its quality sells for twice the price. They also include a nice black bag to store it in, but since it will mostly be on my rod, I don't think the bag will be seeing much use!

Fishing gear is really a difficult thing to purchase unless you have recommendations from other people or a lot of experience. I have not too much of either, so it has been a long and slow process figuring out what is a good purchase. I have had the cheapest bargain reels which made fishing a hassle, with tangles and rough reeling and difficult casting. I have also had a more expensive (~$100) reel that served me well for quite a while. I haven't had experience with the $300 reels other than playing with them in the store because well, that price point is absolutely absurd. This reel is the best reel I have purchased so far.
Plusinno seems to have hit a fantastic combination of the silky smooth function of the really pricy reels with a price point close enough to the bargain basement to make purchasing one a no brainer. If you are just starting out in fishing (or probably experienced as can be) do yourself a favor and get this reel, you will be more than happy you did.

I have been looking around for a light weight smaller reel for backpacking. Its packs well and looks nice. I already own two telescopic Plusinno pools and this fits perfect. My wife and I love backpacking and always take my set-up with me. I also have a ocean and fresh water set up in my truck at all time...you never know! Over all I have been very please with Plusinno's products and this is another one I'll add to my collection!

A few months ago, I paid $18 for a beautiful shiny gold & black Plusinno spinning reel and have to admit that it is as advertised. The box states it is a size 5000 and compared with other brands, it seems to be a little larger than expected. I would have to guess that it was mislabeled or placed the wrong box. It also weighs more like a 6000 but nevertheless the difference is not hardly worth mentioning.
What is worth mentioning is the fact that I like the size and weight after trying hard to find a flaw, I haven’t yet. It’s a well balanced large freshwater spinning reel with a beautiful high gloss black paint job and detailed in gold. If judging from looks alone, it’s prettier than my Slammer by Penn.
Highly recommended for any beginners or old timer. I have not used it in saltwater or even brackish water yet. However, if I do, I’ll be sure that I rinse it down with tap water such as a low pressure water hose to make certain that all salt water is washed out before I store.

Got this reel to pair with a medium heavy rod I own and it works great. It spooled up 300 yards of 15lb spiderwire braid perfectly. My only concern is the piece that you can hook the line to, to keep it under tension, is partially blocked by a graphite (I think it's graphite) bar. I got the line in there, but had to position the reel just right. All in all, this is a very nice and smooth reel.

First impression was wow, Plusinno knows how to make a spinning reel folks. This makes my second Plusinno fishing reel and I have not been disappointed yet! This thing is crazy smooth for the price. I have a 40 buck shimno spinning reel and this puts that shimano to shame!

There is nothing I dislike about this product. It came in a nice box and has a pouch to put the reel in. The action is smooth. The line spool has a very grippy feel to it. I have only used it a few times. I caught a few two and three pound large mouth bass. I plan on taking it to the coast with me this spring because it is ok to use in the salt water. I have spinning reels that cost $100+. I'd love for a reel maker to sit me down and explain how this Plusinno product is not just as good as theirs. I also can't find salt water spinning reels at my local bass pro. I don't know if that is a covid thing or what? I've never actually looked for salt water gear before this past weekend. I'll update this review if I change my mind after further use.

I fish both saltwater and freshwater and was looking for an excellent 4000 series reel as a pompano set up and I took a chance with this one. I cannot express how impressed I have been with this affordable reel! Surprisingly, it held up to a strong 15+lb stingray that took 22 minutes to bring in! Honestly, I thought my drag after the ray would be shot but it is still good as new. The drag on the BE4000 is buttery smooth and more than adequate and the reel is incredibly smooth and looks good doing it. It's a great lightweight combo on a 7ft medium-heavy rod.
I primarily bought this for a pompano rod and for smaller fish such as whiting, but I have caught other species as well, including a smaller 2ft shark without any issue.

It says its a 4000 sized reel when its the size of a large 2000 and a small 3000 of my reels in that size series. Fishing gear is really a difficult thing to purchase unless you have recommendations from other people or a lot of experience. I have not too much of either, so it has been a long and slow process figuring out what is a good purchase. I have had the cheapest bargain reels which made fishing a hassle, with tangles and rough reeling and difficult casting. I have also had a more expensive (~$100) reel that served me well for quite a while. I haven't had experience with the $300 reels other than playing with them in the store because well, that price point is absolutely absurd. This reel is the best reel I have purchased so far.
Plusinno seems to have hit a fantastic combination of the silky smooth function of the really pricy reels with a price point close enough to the bargain basement to make purchasing one a no brainer. If you are just starting out in fishing (or probably experienced as can be) do yourself a favor and get this reel, you will be more than happy you did.

This reel is a piece of junk, line does not properly spool on reel forcing it to jump out of reel and clog up reel. have tried relining and no luck. Tried to contact company in China a for warranty purposes and i get no response. Waste of money , do not buy this product. Very poor customer service on part of company.
DIDDY : Great Freshwater Spinning Reel
A few months ago, I paid $18 for a beautiful shiny gold & black Plusinno spinning reel and have to admit that it is as advertised. The box states it is a size 5000 and compared with other brands, it seems to be a little larger than expected. I would have to guess that it was mislabeled or placed the wrong box. It also weighs more like a 6000 but nevertheless the difference is not hardly worth mentioning.
What is worth mentioning is the fact that I like the size and weight after trying hard to find a flaw, I haven’t yet. It’s a well balanced large freshwater spinning reel with a beautiful high gloss black paint job and detailed in gold. If judging from looks alone, it’s prettier than my Slammer by Penn.
Highly recommended for any beginners or old timer. I have not used it in saltwater or even brackish water yet. However, if I do, I’ll be sure that I rinse it down with tap water such as a low pressure water hose to make certain that all salt water is washed out before I store.

I fish both saltwater and freshwater and was looking for an excellent 4000 series reel as a pompano set up and I took a chance with this one. I cannot express how impressed I have been with this affordable reel! Surprisingly, it held up to a strong 15+lb stingray that took 22 minutes to bring in! Honestly, I thought my drag after the ray would be shot but it is still good as new. The drag on the BE4000 is buttery smooth and more than adequate and the reel is incredibly smooth and looks good doing it. It's a great lightweight combo on a 7ft medium-heavy rod.
I primarily bought this for a pompano rod and for smaller fish such as whiting, but I have caught other species as well, including a smaller 2ft shark without any issue.

Amazingly well built and engineered, very fast line retrieval, smooth and quiet operation. Only one minor concern with the machined spool and trim parts: sharp edges that may yield a small cut to a finger or possibly the line if not taught on the spool. Minor issues given the overall quality, easy to deburr the edges, certain this reel is built to last.

Like most anglers i like having different rods and reels for different ocassions. However i don't want to break the bank to get everything i need. I have tried some of the more expensive reels but i have recently purchased a couple plussino reels. The prices are great to cover all my rods but the reels are not cheaply made. The parts and build look and feel high quality and most important they work. The drag is very smooth when you hook into a good fish. I like to use light line and drag is very important at those times. I just recieved this reel but have brought in some nice fish on other plussino reels that i would have lost with light line and lesser quality reels. Overall a great buy. They will continue to be my go to reel.

This has got to be one of the nicest reels in this price range I’ve owned. It looks amazing and works great. I loaded it up with 250 yards of thin braided line on my surf rod and cast a country mile. Wish I would have come across this earlier when I needed to replace a reel on another rod. Easily better than the $40 Plueger reel I purchased recently. Feels heavier duty than the more expensive Plueget, has an anti-reverse switch that the more expensive Plueger lacks, and looks cooler than any of my other spinning reels.
Definitely going to snatch up a few more of these... cheap enough to just keep a few on hand for future rod purchases and/or backups in case anything dies on me.

1st impression the reel is super smooth and has true anti reverse! Well built and seems as smooth as my lews abu Garcia and six gill spinning reels. It says its a 4000 sized reel when its the size of a large 2000 and a small 3000 of my reels in that size series. Will spool it up with 10# braid and do a full review with pics after i use it fishing. As of now for the really great price i match it up with reels 2 and 3 times the cost. So looks like a steal at the price point

This reel far exceeded my thoughts about it for the price. I paired this on a 7' medium Heavy rod with 30 pound braid and it is perfect. I thought for the price it would be worth a try. The reel is so smooth and has no play. The bail moves nicely with a great amount of resistance but not to much like some cheap reels. I took it out to a pond for a few casts and it has performed far beyond my expectations. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good spinning reel that won't break the bank.

There is nothing I dislike about this product. It came in a nice box and has a pouch to put the reel in. The action is smooth. The line spool has a very grippy feel to it. I have only used it a few times. I caught a few two and three pound large mouth bass. I plan on taking it to the coast with me this spring because it is ok to use in the salt water. I have spinning reels that cost $100+. I'd love for a reel maker to sit me down and explain how this Plusinno product is not just as good as theirs. I also can't find salt water spinning reels at my local bass pro. I don't know if that is a covid thing or what? I've never actually looked for salt water gear before this past weekend. I'll update this review if I change my mind after further use.

Best bang for your buck took the boat out a couple days ago and lost a few of my favorite favorite rods when a bigger boat flew by me and rocked us pretty bad and had to buy all new fishing gear pretty much and these reels are actually pretty great took one out to see how it would hold up and I am actually pretty impressed with it not heavy by any means and held out great easy break down and pretty much plug and play!

This is the best freshwater fishing reel I’ve ever owned! I have many that we’re more expensive (Diawa, Shimano, etc.) but none are as smooth and responsive as this gem!
I couldn’t wait to get my lime in it and put it to work. Fist time at our dock I caught a nice large catfish and my wife caught a nice bass the following day. Also, this reel uses aluminum and stainless steel so this reel can be used in saltwater as well! Next week we’ll be going up to Crystal River to try our luck with some redfish!
You’ll definitely enjoy this reel and you won’t beat the price with a fishimg reel of this quality!!!

Overall, the reel is very sleek. It rotates cleanly and spreads the line evenly on the reel (something I’ve had problems with on many other reels). The reel itself can hold up to 10lb line so it will be good for most of your fishing needs!
Another thing that I really like about the design is that you are able to switch between which side you want the handle to be on. Most rods come preequipped with right handed knobs but I prefer to reel with my left hand and hold the rod with my right. It is a small detail but I think any fisherman who is just beginning to test the waters will greatly appreciate that option.
This product also comes with a velvet carrying bag which is kind of nice. Most people typically just keep their reels on their rods for the entirety of their life time; however, the bag offers you a chance to either store this reel or a reel you may be taking off one of your other rods so that it won’t be subject to any weather damages it may go through otherwise.
Overall, I really don’t have anything negative to say about this product. After testing it out and giving it a try, it definitely feels well crafted and is better than most of the reels I already have. I highly recommend this product to anyone who’s looking for an inexpensive yet effective piece of fishing equipment!!

Corporal Knobby Knobbs : Great reel for the price.
My 7 year old got a small pole and reel from his grandmother for his birthday and had been asking to go fishing. I hadn’t been in years so I picked this reel up to use with an old pole and some light tackle. We’ve been fishing off the dock at my MIL’s place in Mississippi and both my 7 and 5 year olds have been able to handle this reel absolutely fine and have even caught their first fish. I would post a picture of our catches so far but I would need a zoom lens to make the fish fill the photo. Who cares about the fish size, the kids have had fun.

Even with my bad setup, this reel delivers. I am not educated fully on open faced spinning reels. I put too much line on it by accident. I also only had one pole, a cheap Zebco casting rod. This thing hauled in a 3 lb. fourteen incher!
It is very smooth, light, and it performs!
Only issue is that it needs to be broken in. The bar that holds the line does not click in place every time yet. This could be the newness or the fact that I probably put way too much monofilament on it.
You will not be disappointed!

I have been looking around for a light weight smaller reel for backpacking. Its packs well and looks nice. I already own two telescopic Plusinno pools and this fits perfect. My wife and I love backpacking and always take my set-up with me. I also have a ocean and fresh water set up in my truck at all time...you never know! Over all I have been very please with Plusinno's products and this is another one I'll add to my collection!

I purchased this PLUSINNO Fishing Reel and was pleasantly surprised on how well built it was. it was not only smooth but Ultra Smooth with it's 9 + 1 Ball Bearings. The construction was solid and firm on my pole. I used this reel this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is one of the lightest weight Spinning Reels I own and has quickly become one of my favorites as I own several other top named reels. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a high performance spinning reel that can be used at your favorite pond, lake, river or even to go ocean fishing! I don't believe you could find another lower prices all around spinning reel anywhere. So if your new to fishing or have been at it for some time, I highly recommend you give this a try. I don’t understand how the reviewers that mentioned this “quirk” or defect, can still give the reel 4-5 stars. See photo for the comparison of when the bail fully opens and *clicks* and when it does not. I am holding it open in the photo.
At this price point however, I was planning to make some modifications and take the loss if it didn’t work by cutting the bail wire and making it a bailless reel. However, since I usually manually close my reels, I decided to try removing the bail trip wire first ( see photo )... and it worked!
Initially every 3-4 iterations of opening and closing the bail, it would stick. After removing the part, 20-30 tries and no issues with sticking. I am still going to give the overall review 2 stars because of the bail issue, but if this fix works after I take it out for a real reel workout, I will change my review accordingly.

They Call Me Mr. Gibbs : I really liked it but
I really liked the reel but the first trip I used it on it developed an intermittent clicking sound when retrieving. None of my other reels ever did this. Felt good in hand, did a great job with casting but I had to return it because I was concerned the clicking was a bad sign for longevity. May have gotten a dud since so many love it and it is a nice reel.
