Answer: The real is a excellent match for a medium action rod. It is a great real for braid, very smooth retrieval, and a great drag.

Does the Honor XT 1000 model have an anti reverse switch so one can backreel?

Answer: I have the XT3000 and XT4000 models and they both have an anti-reverse switch. Located just under the reel at the base of the spool, there is a lever that you can move left or right. That lever releases the instant anti-reverse so you can reel forward or backward with ease. I am assuming the 1000 series reels have the same build.

Answer: I have a 3000 model I use for inshore salt water. I have 20# premium braid on it, roughly about 150 yards and it is more than enough. As far as a 5000 series goes, I would guess about 250 yards of the same line.

Answer: I only have the 2,000 model. I'm running 30 lb test braided off the spool. it has maybe 200 yd capacity with the braided line which is plenty for me. The real works great. It's well balanced as you may know by now and it looks like it's solidly made.

Answer: Should be fine for cat fishing. Seems pretty durable, and the drag runs smoothly. I liked it enough after receiving it that I immediately ordered a second one. I've only used it a few times because I've been too busy too fish much. But it seems like a pretty well built reel that should stand up to strong cats if paired with the right rod and line.

Answer: I use mine more for pan fish and bass fishing. Depending on the size of catfish you are chasing you may need a larger reel. I do find this reel very smooth, powerful, and retrieves extremely fast.

Sturdy construction. Seems good value for money athough it hasnt been used yet. The manufacturers packaging is no different to other brands. The parts diagram is the usual black and white printed sheet. The parts are better vued online.

The Honor XT hands down better than any reel you will get at your local walmart or sporting good stores. Its relatively affordable and handles like an expensive reel. I have the 1000 series matched with an UL rod and it feels so light and feels good when fighting those good size fish. Downside is it doesnt have a reverse switch but dont really need that. Just used my honor xt 3000 gor the first time yesterday and was very disappointed. Once i put line on the reel and started to use it the real became very loud and grindy. It is s loud my buddy fishing nowhere near me could hear it. The reel feels nice and looks good and i have many piscifun products that are great. But this reel has something wrong with it not happy.

Cons very cheap feeling the little arches on the line roller side of bail is a big weak point I dropped mine from a 3 ft height onto my livingroom floor while attaching to my rod and it snapped right above that arch on the line roller side of the bail if not for that weak point this would be a great reel but ive had 15 dollar reels that took more abuse than the honor xt did and lasted more than a week as well I'd expect a 70 dollar reel to be better quality. Get a pursuit 3 better reel and cheaper

I bought the 3000 for my 8.5 ft Clarus and the 4000 for my 10.5 ft Dialuna. They both fish smooth and solid. The best feature is the round knob on the 4000.

Really like the reel and want to give 5 stars but it's not as smooth as it should be. Crank handle seems to hang up a bit. When you reel slowly and stop it takes a good amount of force to get it moving again instead of a nice smooth action. Hoping with some more break in time/ oil it will get better

I received the Piscifun Honor XT 4000 reel and immediately gave it a try fishing the Southern California surf and inshore bays. What an amazing reel. For the price point, I wasn't expecting much, but when I opened the box, the reel was impressive. The parts, mechanics, smoothness, and overall appearance was jaw-dropping. For a reel well under $100, it looks and performs like a reel twice that price. If the body wasn't made of plastic (it looks really good by the way), you would never guess it's price point. This reel is such a deal for quality and value.
I have the Penn Clash II and Shimano Stradic spinning reels and the Piscifun reel looks and works as effectively as those two high quality reels. The Piscifun is smooth as butter and the drag is no joke. I wanted to test the Piscifun's drag claim (33 Lbs). I put it on my scale and got over 33 lbs. I went to bay and fished for bat rays. Not a normal fish for me, but they produce some screaming runs and they put a reel to the test. It wasn't long before I hooked into one and off it went. I had the drag set at 3/4 max and this reel slowed down that bat ray after a short screaming run. I tightened down the drag a little more and was able to bring this fish to the dock in a couple minutes. I immediately went back out and caught another bat ray with the same results. So far, this reel has met up to its claims. So much so, that I've purchased 3 more Honor XT's (2000 model, 3000 model, and another 4000 model). My only knock is I don't know how to say the company's name. Is it pronounced Pisk-c-fun or is it Pisci-fun? However you say the name, their products are both Quality and Value.

I bought a smaller version of this reel to put on a panfish rod, since I saw a video of someone catching crappie with it. So, haven’t caught any monsters on this reel, but I will say that I was pleasantly surprised with it out of the box. It’s nice and smooth, the anti-reverse is solid, and it feels well built. I’m willing to wager it would do nicely for finesse bass applications, too. Time will tell on durability, but unboxing and a few panfish later, and I’m very happy with this purchase.
