Hey everyone;
It looks like folks are itching to do another get together. That sounds fun to me!!
I'm thinking of a few different places. We could do Hopkinton again, or we could do Franklin Pierce in Hillsboro. It's a big lake with a fantastic launch area. We could also do Massasecum in Bradford. All have good populations of fish...LMB and SMB. Frankilin Pierce also has pike, trout, etc...
If anyone wants to suggest a lake or a series of dates, please feel free. I'm wide open on the weekends and fridays for the most part. I think we should do it on a Friday if possible to avoid as much boat traffic as possible.
I'm also game for a a more northern lake like Winnisquam or Newfound Lake, or a little honey hole that I know up near North Conway.
As far as a date and time, I"m thinking Friday july 16, 2010 at 8:00am. That could change beased on everyone's availabliity.
Fridays are usually good for me, and usually Saturdays as well. I hear ya on the boat traffic, and Fridays are usually much better. So, maybe July 16th? I have no preference on location. Those are all new to me, so it will be cool wherever.
I'd love to come. I think Friday is a good day to do it. Better than the weekend. All those places are new to me, too, so I have no preference either.
I could do a friday too with enough notice. The earlier the better for me. The wife works in the afternoon.
Friday is good for me. Hopkington or Fanklin pierce are fine by me, either way
It looks like there is a tourney on Franklin Pierce on the day after the planned get together. It may be OK to still go therte, or there may be some guys prefishing the tourney and it could get crowded. It may be wise to choose somewhere else.
I like Hopkinton, so I'm game for that again. Any other suggstions?
Looks like the 16th will work for me. I'm new to bass fishing so I'm game for anywhere. I've heard that Hopkinton is a great place to fish.
im in.
The 16th works for me. Sounds like we will have a good bunch of us this time! I really need to get an aluminum prop for that place from the sounds of it, though. I don't wanna hit a stump with stainless!
I'd be down but I'll no more that week.. I don't have a boat but I have gas $$ and treats.. ;p
I will have a seat available.
The 16th sounds good to me, if someone has an open seat that would be cool, if not i can borrow my dads canoe as long as the wind is manageable.
-matt-
Someone's welcome to fish out of the back of the Skeeter.
I may also have a seat open on the nitro. I'll have to check and see if my buddy can make it.
There are a lot of people fishing this time! That is great! We may have to pick a place a little bigger than Hopkinton. Sounds like Franklin Pierce may have to do it. We can decide that later.
OK. Let's get a good list of people that are coming/boat status. If there is a ? after it, it means I'm not sure and please let me know.
Boats
Myself (Jay) - Boat. Possible open seat.
Wagn - boat. open seat??
fmoore - boat Open seat.
Shane J- Boat. Open seat??
nashua fisherman - boat
Needs seat
bassmaster6- canoe- could use seat.
NHfisher - needs seat?
If anyone has an open seat, I could probably get the day off from work, I missed the last get-together because of my annual 2 weeks for the army, so I definitely wanna make it to this one.
Yup, I can say certainly open seat in my Nitro.
Hey boys I can make this one. I am gonna take the Bass tracker and am not sure if Nashua Fisherman wants to ride with me on not. Just need to ask him. Have any of you guys ever fished Baxter Lake in Farminton? I heard good things about that lake.
Nope, I never have.
Nope, I've never been there. I like Farmington though.
So, here's the update:
Boats
Myself (Jay) - Boat. Possible open seat.

Shane J- Boat. Open seat
nashua fisherman - boat
UNHbass - boat

NHfisher - needs seat
bwillis- needs seat
You guys want to try it out? It's a old apple orchard from what I am told.
QuoteYou guys want to try it out? It's a old apple orchard from what I am told.
mmmmmmm standing timber. My kinda fishing. haha. Might be a little far for me though. Solid 2 hours. Then again, I'm about an hour west of most here
Yeah they may be a bit far for you. I have never fished it, but it's just a thought.

I'll need a spot on someones boat as well.. But like I mentioned I really won't know till the Friday before if I can make it.. doing an addition on Lake Winnisquam and I don't know if it'll be done by then.
I got the day off from work, so I'm definitely going.
Any thoughts on changing the location? I'd hate to rip the lower end out of my outboard from a stump. I heard it has a lot of hidden ones. No problem if everyone still wants to go there either. I am still in either way.
I'd be up for Farmington, but that does make a long drive for fmoore.
I'm thinking we may just want to hit up Franklin Pierce Lake here in Hillsboro. Hopkinton could get crowded, and it''s so shallow prop busting could be an issue. There is a chance it could be busy, but I guess we risk that with every lake at this time of year. It's very big (500 acres), and it's got a good launch.
So, here's the latest update:

Either Hopkington or Franklin Pierce is fine by me. Franklin Pierce has a great launch....are we all cool to fish there Jay without being down residents?
I don't have an open seat. A friend from work will be fishing with me.
Also I still have all of those trophies I made for the tourney that got cancelled last year....we could give them out for biggest fish by lenght or something. No money involved but just for fun.
Hopkington does have hidden stumps, but really only within the areas of fallen timber. If your motoring through there and not trolling your really asking for a torn up prop
My vote (for whatever it's worth) is for Franklin Pierce.
I'm thinking to fish a place where no one has been yet. Makes it a little bit of a challenge for all of us, but I will fish wherever you all choose. Just throwing it out there.
Yeah, wherever is fine by me, too. Just if we end up at Stumpfield, it'll be all trolling for me.
QuoteI'm thinking to fish a place where no one has been yet. Makes it a little bit of a challenge for all of us, but I will fish wherever you all choose. Just throwing it out there.
I agree with the idea, but my concern is having everyone show up at a lake that no one has been to before and finding out there's a bad ramp, no parking, or even just bad fishing. The one good thing about fishing a lake that at least one of us has been too is that we can at least know what to expect.
I'd still like to do one of these on Powdermill sometime, but it has the same problem as Hopkinton...shallow dangerous spots for props.
I'd be up for changing this to Powder Mill Pond. It certainly has the facilities, and none of us have really fished it all that much. I've only fished it once, and I think wagn has fished it a few times.
Just make sure you charge up your trolling motor batteries!!!! I hit aa good sized log there at the beginning of the year with the new boat with the big motor down. No damage, but it made me pretty wary of running the big motor in unknown waters.
It will be pretty funny to see all of us making the long run between the two ponds with our trolling motors set to 5! LOL! It sure will even the field between the boats.
If we did decide to stick with Franklin Pierce, we are all fine to fish there. They never check about residents at the launch, but I'll bring little signs that say "Guest of " for everyone that comes just in case.
The only problem with Franklin Pierce is that it is a busy lake with waterskiers, jet skis, sea planes, etc... Not a quiet place, but it holds good fish.
Powder Mill is kind of a mystery to me, and I'm always up for a challenge.
Really Jay, I'll fish wherever you decide to go. let's just pick a lake and time to meet. Franklin Pierce, Hopkington, Powdermill, all of them are fine by me.
My only real concern would be if I had to drive a couple of hours, and so far every lake is within an hour of me, so that's fine.
Well, I've got to pull the trigger at some point on the decision. I'll have it figered out very soon.
So, where's it gonna be, guys?
im down for whatever. i only have my 10footer so anything smaller than winnipesaukee is fine by me.
i have limited internet access right now so if i dont respond to an pm dont think im blowing anyone off.
Well, I think it is decided, but I'm just wanting for a report on the water level and I'll let everyone know ASAP. Please let me know if the info below is incorrrect.
Boats
Myself (Jay) - Boat. open seat.
Wagn - boat. no open seat
fmoore - boat Open seat. questionable
Shane J- Boat. Open seat
nashua fisherman - boat. no open seat.
UNHbass - boat. Open seat

NHBass fishing - needs seat
Yup, good as far as my info shows. I got my new prop yesterday, and I'm ready to rip it up!
Yep. Mine is correct.
Mines good too. I will need a seat.
I'm looking iffy for Friday. Might end up having to work
Could someone please PM me their cell # for a contact in case I get lost going to wherever we're going. Thanks. I will be without a computer from later this afternoon, until Wednesday evening, so if you guys don't hear from me, don't worry, I'm definitely still going. My cell is 219-8487 if anybody needs it.
you are all set Shane. Just sent you my cell #.
OK guys. It looks like it's going to be Powder Mill Pond in Greenfield. It's a very shallow lake overall so it's going to be a lot of trolling motors and fishing the weeds/milfoil.
Wagn, if you want to do those trophies, that would be great!!
If anyone needs directions, the launch is just off Forest Road in Greenfield, at the south end of the ponds.
Sounds good Jay. I'll bring trophies, since I have them anyway. We can give them out for most fish, or biggest fish or something. We'll just go by the honor system since it's just more of a gag then anything
Is this still kicking off at 8am?
I won't be able to get there till about 8:30 or so. Let me know also.
QuoteSounds good Jay. I'll bring trophies, since I have them anyway. We can give them out for most fish, or biggest fish or something. We'll just go by the honor system since it's just more of a gag then anything
Sounds good to me. I think most of us will have livewells too if we catch a hog to show everyone and then drop her back.
I'm still planning for 8:00am, but I'm sure 8:30am will be fine as well. It's going to take a while to get everyone launched and ready.
I'll be coming Friday. If anyone wants the backseat, shoot me a PM
Also Powdermill is only a few minutes away from my house. If people want to do a barbaque or something afterward we can....just let me know
ok. powder mill at 8-8:30 it is.
im taking a buddy from work so i do not have an open seat.
should i bother bringing my little gas motor or will my trolling motor be enough?
All right! Back in action, and ready to go to Powdermill! Somebody wanna throw down the directions?
Tom, I think the trolling motor will be needed, but it's def. big enough to bring the gas motor. There is a short run down a river channel from the launch to the lake.
Shane, where are you coming from? I'll shoot you some directons.
Anyone else that needs them, just send me a PM with your address or town you are coming from and I'll get you some directions.
OK. Here is the final list of people:
Boats
Myself (Jay) - Boat. open seat.
Wagn - boat. no open seat
fmoore - boat Open seat. questionable
Shane J- Boat. Open seat
nashua fisherman - boat. no open seat.
UNHbass - boat. Open seat

NHfisher - needs seat
bwillis- needs seat
NHBass fishing - needs seat
We have 4 open seats, and 4 guys that need seats, so that works out fine.
I'm going to get there pretty early (maybe around 6:00am or earlier) to try and check out the early morning topwater bite. If anyone wants to meet me, let me know! I'll come back to the launch at 8:00am to meet up with everyone.
I'm coming from Pembroke (on 28 next to Bear Brook). Nhfisher PM'ed me about my open seat, so he will be with me, as long as that's cool.
Jay, I might be able to make it down there around 6 depending on when/if I make it to bed.
Hey guys, I wasn't expecting to be able to make it, but as it turns out I might. I wont know for sure until tommorrow night. If I can make I'll be there with a buddy of mine and my crawdad. If someone can send me some directions that would be great. I'll be coming form the Bedford Mall. Thanks!
Is this the boat launch off Forst Road close to the Hancock Greenfield bridge?
QuoteIs this the boat launch off Forst Road close to the Hancock Greenfield bridge?
that is exactly where it is. It's a big area on the right just after the bridge if you are coming from 202.
Sounds good bwillis. My cell is 440-3009 if you want to give me a call in the AM if you are going to make it there early.
Here are the coordinates for the launch to plug into the GPS if you have one:
N42 57.340' / W71 56.141"
OK...here's a potential list of people and partners. If anyone else already has a partner, let me know and I'll amend this:
Myself (Jay) and bwillis
Wagn and guest (NH froggin?)
fmoore and NH Bass fishing
Shane J & NHfisher-
nashua fisherman and guest
UNHbass and bassmaster6
badcrawdad and guest
It looks like we may still need a spot for NHfroggin unless he is with one of the other boats already. If not, we can try to squeeze 3 into my boat. It's only 18 feet, but we can give it a shot!
Final note for everyone, get ready and bring the heavy line. This place has a good amount of weeds, and there are some big fish in there!
That's what I'm talkin' about, badcrawdad! Hope to see you there. We are gonna have a blast at this get together, with most of Bassresourse's NH members being there. Awesome! Bring on the HAWGS! Thanks for the directions, Jay.

Jay
NHfroggin pm'd me and had planned to come on my boat.
I changed my name from bassmaster6 to NHfroggin sorry about the confusion. I sent fmoore a pm and made plans with him to fish tomorrow.
-matt-
The address for the boat launch is 1492 Forest Rd, Greenfield, NH for those of us that have GPS.
Looks good. My buddy Dunphy is fishing with me and we'll be there at 8
Ok its official I'll be there tommorrow. Just want to make sure I'm correct the launch is on the south end. I was just looking on my map and it shows a launch at the north end as well.
Yup, south end. it's the down by the covered bridge. You can launch a canoe on the north end on 202, but there is no real boat launch there

OK. I think that';s it. Let me know if I screwed anything up!! See y'all in the AM!
Well it was nice to finally meet all of you guys. I ended up with only one bass (3lbs 1oz) and lost count of the perch and sunfish. Thanks alot to Jay for organizing this also. Hope you get the trolling motor fixed soon.
It was nice to finally meet and fish with everyone. Here is a couple pics from the day. Fmoore caught a couple lmb and crappie. I caught a lmb and smb. thanks again fmoore for letting me fish out of your boat!
-matt-
It really was great to meet you guys today. Sorry I ahd to leave a couple hours early to deal with the trolling mottor. Look's like my boat is out of commission until I get a new one.
We will have to do this again in the fall, or in about a month or so when all the lake activity has slowed down. Then we can just go where we want regardless of boat traffic issues.
I've also have to commend wagn and Dunphe for the outfits and extra effort. You guys rock!!
Here's the Bassresource flotilla!!
It was great to fnally meet everyone even though the fishing was tough, and thanks for letting me fish from your boat Jay. I stopped at the boat launch at Hopkinton Lake on my way home and caught 2 bass and a good sized pickerel in 20 minutes, which was more than I caught in the few hours at Powder Mill.
Good to meet everyone in person. Today was probably one of the toughest days I've had all year.
Here was our big fish of the day. 3lbs 5oz
and a couple of shots of everyone hanging out
QuoteIt was nice to finally meet and fish with everyone. Here is a couple pics from the day. Fmoore caught a couple lmb and crappie. I caught a lmb and smb. thanks again fmoore for letting me fish out of your boat!-matt-
Matt - I had a great time even though the fishing was slooow. You're welcome on the boat any time. It was great to meet everyone, although I do have to admit, when I saw Anglers Inc. pulling up I was like huhhhh? haha. That was awesome!
Nice fish wagn and the shot of the Skeeter is cool! I'll have to save that. Thanks
I had a great time out there, and am glad we all finally got to get together. I can't wait till the next one, and hopefully we can all get on some fish. Thanks for puttin' it together, Jay, it was a success, even though the fishing wasn't for all. We really got a cool bunch of guys here.
Hey guys glad I made it. Wish I had gotten there a little earlier and had a chance to chat with you all but it's nice to be able to put a face with your names. I had a tough time gettin around once the wind picked up and had to head in much earlier than I wanted to.......but that led me to 3 LM (4.2lb, 1.8lb, and 1.1lb)and 1 SM (2lb) all caught between the launch and the covered bridge.
Had a great time meeting everyone.
Shane, I enjoyed fishing with you. Thanks, we'll have to get out sometime.
nice pix, looks like you guys had fun
Great pics everyone!!!
Any word of what happened to NH Bass fishing? Anyone hear from him yet? I hope all is OK.
Here's a vid my buddy Dunphy made of Angler's Inc at the get together.
We used the pics everyone put up on the thread. Hope that was cool with everyone.

Enjoy!
Angler's Inc rules! That was awesome!
That's great!! Nice work!!!!
we had a good time too. all i caught was perch, but my buddy caught a couple bass
Quotewe had a good time too. all i caught was perch, but my buddy caught a couple bass
Yeah, I caught more perch that morning than I have in my whole life. There were some good sized ones in there.
Cool videos guys.
Wagn that was hilarious! Can't say I've ever seen a bass faxed before How bout the 'merger' of the 'acquisition' back into the water. Priceless. Awesome vid! Like the soundtrack too!
Thanks guys.
I really had a great time meeting everyone.
Can't wait to do it again.
Due to many obligations I'll be taking the next week or two off of from fishing....man is it killing me already
