I'm looking for anyone interested in just going fishing and enjoying the water. I don't know anyone in the area and I'm looking for a fishing buddy. If anyone knows any fishing groups in the area or are from the area and just want to go fishing please let me know.

Thanks and happy fishing!!????

My hometown!!!! I don't live there anymore (in the Philly area now), and all my friends are gone. Haha, sorry bud! My parents still live in Dingmans Ferry and I come visit (and fish) most weekends starting in March.

Where in Milford do you live?

fishing user avatarTurkey sandwich reply :

Welcome to the forum!  I grew up near Wilkes-Barre, but also now reside in Philly.  You're in a great place for the outdoors.  The north branch Susquehanna isn't too far (I try to get there at least a few weekends a month), and you're right on the Delaware.  If you don't own a fly rod, pick one up and head north.  The tailwaters of the Delaware down into the main stem are killer trout waters.

I fish there a few times/year. My uncle has a house on the smaller lake next to the dam. Sunrise itself isn't too good, but the smaller lakes are awesome. I'll happily take you out to my favorite private lakes up that way. I also sneak into Gold Key whenever possible and fish the canal.

Check out PAFishermen. It's a great site for the locals.

That sounds awesome. Super excited to for the opportunity to hit the water and continue to learn more about fishing. I definitely have cabin fever right now. I've been in the house just organizing tackle and working on flippin and pitching. Can't wait for the weather to break.

I believe you're also reasonably close to Shahola if you feel like pitching shallow, thick weed mats and frogging.  Wallenpaupack isn't far either.

Cool thanks for the info. I've been to Wallenpaupack and caught a few small bass. Shahola sounds awesome I'm looking forward to giving that a try. I love top water so had me at frogging.

It's a fun, shallow lake that fishes best out of a small craft.  Bring a flipping stick.

I've been waiting to put my flipping stick to use. The lakes I've been fishing don't have that type of vegetation. This is just making my cabin fever worse lol.

Welcome, Perkasie here. If you ever want, I'm  3 minutes from Nockamixon, but fish the "Big D" around Milford a lot, especially during NJ, and PA trout stockings.

I'm very interested sounds great. When the water thaws we should make it happen. When you say you fish the "Big D" are you talking abt the Delaware River?

Yes. Just a little joke. When I lived in CO, we used to joke about the "Mighty Platte River"..."A mile wide, but just six inches deep." Compared to it, The Big D is a great resource, we are lucky to have her.

fishing user avatarMegastink reply :

The Upper Delaware around Dingmans and Milford is a great smallmouth fishery. I plan on doing a float trip in May this year from Milford Beach to Dingmans Bridge. Lots a good smallies to be had in that stretch.

Lol cool. Just trying to get my bearings. I don't know all the local lingo yet but I'm learning.

Yeah some guy working in the gun section at Walmart told me to go there. I tried fishing it from the shore with no luck. But I could see the fish busting on the surface all day. It was breaking my heart.

That would be awesome thank you. I don't have a boat yet I'm working on that. But if you know any good bank fishing spot please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm very eager for this water to thaw so I can get back to what I love.

If you don't have a boat, much of the Susquehanna and Delaware are wadable.

fishing user avatarBigchunk reply :

Yea I'm about 5 minutes from the dam. I know some good bank spots, they only good until school lets out though...

fishing user avatarDogmatic reply :

You live along the best smallie stretches of the river all the way down to Easton, and the Lehigh. Those fish don't care that it's cold.

But I don't know where to go to catch them. I went to Milford Beach before but didn't have any luck. I don't know any good access points to get to the water from.

HEY I ALSO MOVED TO THE AREA A FEW YEARS AGO AND WILL START FISHING THE DELAWARE IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS FOR WALLEYE AND SMALL MOUTH BASS. ID LIKE TO START A FISHING CLUB IN THE AREA. NOT SURE HOW PEOPLE FEEL ABOUT THIS IDEA... BUT DOESNT SEEM TO BE MUCH AROUND US AS FAR AS CLUBS WHICH IS WEIRD DUE TO THE VAST FISHING OPTIONS WE HAVE IN THE 570. LOOKING FOR SOME PPL GO WET A LINE WITH.

fishing user avatarRohan Lupin reply :
