This might have been asked before on the forum, but let's here what you got.
For me, time and time again....I catch more fish and have more confidence in a Zoom Magnum Ultravibe Speed Worm. Is it just me or is this worm overlooked as one of the best fish catchers there is? I love a green pumpkin, California 420 & Junebug Red with the tail dipped in Spike-it 90 % of the time.
Let's here your go to plastic...I mean the one you find yourself picking up a bag or two every time your at the tackle store. And give a shout out if your a big U-Vibe fan like myself!
A 10 inch Black Berkley Power Worm.
A-Jay
Red shad Yum Dinger. It always catches fish for me no matter which way I rig it.
Another vote for a Yum Dinger.
Zoom trick worm in bruised banana!
zoom trick worm - black
~ 7" ribbon-tail and if I had to pick a color, it would be Tequila Sunrise. Brand name isn't really important to me, I usually use Barlow's house brand.
Tom
5" Green pumpkinish stick. Senko, Dinger or Megastick. Take your pick.

Interesting, never seen this color. My favorite trick worms would have to be 1. Black and 2. Green Pumpkin/Purple flake
What happened to good ole "motor oil" color by zoom? Can someone recommend a straight tail worm brand that has a motor oil color?

Its a yellow worm with brown stripes wrapping around it, its my go to color for muddy/low visibility water!

Where do you buy em? Just check BPS and they don't carry them
My local academy sports always has some packs of them, I don't have a BPS so Idk if they carry them.
Tackle warehouse is a place you can order them from.
Mine is quickly becoming the Rage Tail Cut R worm. I can fish it like a senko, or swim it thanks to the tail. And if the tail comes off, I can still fish it like a senko. I haven't tried rage-rigging, texas rigging, or carolina rigging it yet, but I'm sure it will be great for those applications too.
Zoom Ol' Monster, as of late I have the best luck using Watermelon or Green Pumpkin Magic Red. My old standby was Plum.

Now that's my favorite on a c-rig, California 420, with the tail dipped

I too dip a little of the tail in chartreuse dye.

A little trick I learned from an old timers to avoid split tails a lot.....take a .22 caliber shell and punch a little round cut right at the "V" of the tail. Saves money and time plus has the same action IMO. Gambler figured this out not to long ago and made their "burner worm"

The only time I don't dip the tail is when them bream are nibbling, lol
8" Mann's Jelly worm in grape.
After the weekend I had my choice right now is the Berkley havoc juice worm.

I feel like Roboworm makes that. Check TW.
My favorite worms are Roboworms (hot tips and FX styles especially) and Slug-Go SS worms- the latter combines the front of a 4" slug-go for that erratic jerky motion, and follows it up with a whiptail that seriously gives it a sashay unlike anything I've ever seen. It's the best of both worlds- the wiggle of a worm and the action of a soft jerkbait. Each has their strengths, but I love them both in their own way.
Rage Tail Cut-R is my go-to work right now. It doesn't matter what color I am using, the fish like it.
Strike King fat baby Finesse worms. Great on a Mojo, Drop Shot or wacky. Just love them.
Just left BPS... But I was looking and they have a motor oil color trick worm w/ Chartruse tail.... Optical illusion... That tail just made the worm look bigger...

Add me to the list.
My recycle tip: after the head is hook-worn and won't stay up, cut off an inch and put use the tail on a scrounger.
10 inch Berkley Power Bait Worm
7 inch go 2 baits shaky worm in green pumpkin rigged on a cj's shaky head.
Baby Bass or Watermelon Red/Black 5" GYM Senko
Berkley Powerbait worm, motor oil color. Just like Colt .45, it works every time.
Worm: Berkley Power Worm 7" or 10". Stickbait: Senko. Finess worm: Roboworm curl tail.
Zoom finesse worm in solid black. It's been ridiculous this year.
Love the Zoom Trick Worm and pretty much all Zoom products. They produce and Zoom doesn't price gouge you. You really get bang for your buck!
I actually bought some mend it plastic glue which, imo, is amazing. I take the worm off the hook before I feel like a fish will throw it off and replace it. Once I get home I fix them all up with mend it and I usually have a close to full bag. This goes for any plastic now too, not just the cut r.On 6/4/2014 at 2:54 AM, Choporoz said:Add me to the list.

I've been finding that both Zoom and Yum 4" straight worms work for me, just so long as they're in blue/white or black/white. Green/white is good for certain conditions, but doesn't cover the same number around here that the darker colors do.
I've not tried the Red Shad mentioned, but I'll be looking for a package.
Josh
Jackall Flickshake
Zoom Finesse Worm or 7' Powerworm
Zoom U-tale in gourd-green. Weightless or Texas, doesn't seem to matter.
7" Power Worm for me. stained water=Red Shad clear water=Blue Fleck.
I am really starting to like the lake fork hyper stick...surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet
But I generally have good success fishing all types of worms, I've probably caught more fish on a dinger than anything else.
6" proworms straight tail worm.
Culprits have always produced for me. The various rage worms have been seeing more action from me but they are very soft.
Zoom Ol' Monster in Black Grape in a ribbontail
Zoom Trick worm in Watermelon red magic in a straight tail
10" or 7" Power Worm
The Strike King Ocho (Honey Candy) worked wonders for me at Kentucky Lake last month. Other than that, the 10" Berkley power worm in Tequila Sunrise is the lure that got me into bass fishing many moons ago.

That's my uncles favorite! Probably my second.
I like a Zoom Mag II in Green Pumpkin! I've probably caught the most fish on a Bold Bluegill colored Roboworm.
Culprit fat in purple. I want to say it is a 6" worm, could be 7". Slay so much with em, I put em away to practice other baits and techniques.
Netbait T-Mac 7 inch straight tail worm in Green Pumpkin or Bama Bug (depending on water clarity) ... Good anis scent and quite versatile - bass hit and hold on !
Picked up the C- Mac 11" in color kentucky lake
Also a good bag of zoom tricks in green pumpkin blue
Rage Tail Recon Falcon Lake Craw
Yum 7.5" Ribbontail in Plum has been my worm this year.
Honorable mention to both the Thumper and Recon by Rage tail, they are tied for 2nd.
Charlies Worms- Shakey Head- black finesse, T-rig- Day- watermelon (shallow), red shad (mid), Black (>25' or night) swimming tail. C-Rig Black Finesse or Rage Tail. Drop shot- 4" Robo-Worms. Rage Rigs- Try to keep with color change of the native crawfish. JJ's magic if the fish aren't holding on to the bait long enough. I could go on and on... Conditions really are what dictate my go to soft plastics, these are what I usually start with any givin day!
Berkley Red Shad Shakey Worms 5" and 7"
This year I've been doing real well on a 7" Zoom trick worm in Black Grape. Fishing it T-rigged with no weight. Todd
Zoom ol' monster in green pumpkin.
Zoom trick worm- bubble gum
Senko- martigras
Green pumpkin stickworm, pumpkinseed straighttail worm in clear water or black ten inch worm at night or when im huntin a hawg
Berkley Power Worm. Usually watermelon or some other natural color. Purple hues work very well. Honorable mention to the Lake Fork ribbed worms (ribbon tail). Not sure what the color is but it's kinda green. I think I got them in my Mystery Tackle Box and I caught a 5 pounder last year and several good fish already this year on the Lake Fork worm.
For me, there is no one size fits all worm. I do keep a ton of black Yamamoto senkos and watermelon red flake yum dingers. I also like keeping ex money zman stickbaits for shakeyhead applications. Ultimately, it depends on what mood the bass are in.
7.5 inch Culrpit worm in red shad color. Never found a worm that will out fish it
Liking the 7" Rage Tail Thumper worm this year. Green pumpkin is the way to go.
The Keitech Mad Wag is my new favorite. Im starting to stick by Keitech products pretty firmly. Its hard to beat the action you get out of them.

Colt 45? I prefer .357 mag.... the magnum doesn't leave shell casings... oh, crap, wrong forum...
Green pumpkin zoom trick worm..... i literally have a rod/reel set up dedicated to the 1/4 bullet weight, worm hook and green pumpkin trick worm texas rigged. it has accounted for most of my catches this year!

You got it right...mardi gras or candy craw. These catch more fish for me in any style and size than anything else. Stick, trick, or creature. Candy craw dreamshots are my go to drop shot bait. Bubble gum trick worms seem to work best for me in clearer water when they aren't biting mardi gras.
Zoom trick worm- black or bruised banana.
My favorite all around worm is a 6" curltail worm in green pumpkin or black blue.
Berkley Power worm, 7" Electric Grape or Mann's Augertail worm, 8" also in Electric Grape.

Mag uvibe fan also... Junebug for me though. Use them whacky also when they get beat up. Just cut off the tail and a little of hook worn head and you have a 6" stick bait.
Grande Bass Rattlesnake 4.75" in Vicks #20. Brian.
PowerTeam Lures 7" Finicky Tickler in Kitchen Sink color.
Zoom U-Tail in gourd green. Texas rigged with 1/8 or 3/16 tungsten weight. It's illegal to use lead of any kind under 1 oz on MA waters.

The Cut R has become my go to search bait in scattered grass areas.
Honey Candy and June bug, Love that thing.
Arv,
The thing about the Cut R is If you rig it with the tail rudder up or down it will change it's action.
It will make the tail ride up more or with a downward curve, No matter if you swim it during a steady retrieve, Wacky Rigged and more importantly on a Carolina rig.
Try it
Mike

There are plenty of stick baits on the list... Maybe guys just realizing you don't HAVE to pay twice the money when there are plenty of alternatives out there now.
I never met a plastic worm I didn't like.
If this thread lasts long enough, it will comprise a list of every plastic worm ever manufactured

I'll bet you remember the worm parade.
It began with the Creme Scoundrel (complete with red beads & propeller), moved to Manns Jelly Worm & Culprit Ribbontail;
then plastic worms came out of the barrel like pellets:
Twister Thunderworm, Manns Mannipulator, Gillraker Worm, Producto Worm,
Mister Twister Phenom, Manns Augertail, Rebel Ringworm, Bass Pro Tripple Ripple ~ ~ ~
Roger
I really like Uptons Dragontails. They're like bigger Roboworms with awesome colors and I love that little spade tail. My favorite colors are Hershey Blue, Diamond Craw and Ayu. They smell like candy too which is nice over that fake garlic abomination smell.

The jelly Worm is no better than any of them , I just know when I throw one I'm probably going to get bites . I like using my old lures, knowing I'm probably the only person on the lake throwing it . Fliptail worms are another . Id like to find a pack of lime green fliptails .

Zoom Trick worm in Black & Zman's Saw Tails in June Bug
Upton's Customs, Josh makes excellent big worms now available at TW in most sizes and colors.
I use his straight tails in both 9" & 13" in Aaron's Trajic, Black grape-blue neon, Hersey-blue neon and purple thunder.
Tom
How about protourbaits.com. They make some nice ribbon tail worms and you can buy in bulk which is nice.
I find just about any dark purple worm works awesome for me. 5",6",7",8", or 10" Texas rigged all work great.
Creme Scoundrel 8" in 36-Purple has been my favorite since i was a kid.
Flick Shake.
Culprit 7.5 curly tail in tomato color or a balck with chartreuse tail
BPS Stick-O, 4" in *cough * cough*, I forgot how to type! Dang!
I only fish one worm. Berkley 10" Power worm in Blk/blu fleck, Plum and green Pumpkin.
Roboworm straight tail.
Ribbon tail................Culprit
Paddle tail.................Gambler
Curly tail....................G-Tail
Straight tail................Trick worm

For a salted stickworm the Senko is still the best in my opinion so there I said it .
My choice for a ribbon tail worm would be the 10" Kriet Tail by Big Bite bait, replaced the Power Worm as my go to .
When I want a small salted straight tail the Zoom Trick worm is my favorite in that category .
Big Shaky head would be the X cite Maximus.
Small Shaky head would be custom poured stickbaits that I got from with no salt , though I'm starting to throw the Hag's Tornado which floats up nice .
For swimming through shallow grass I like the Cut R worm by Strike King and when I want need a bigger profile my choice is the Gambler Burner worm .
I like to dropshit the Havoc MoneyMaker
I`m becoming a Big fan of the Flick shake.
