What's the one secret lure that you haven't even told your buddy in the bass club about because it works so well? For me I'd say a Reins Bubbling shaker. I have it in the 4" size for drop shotting but I'm gonna try the 5" and maybe 7" for the Neko rig this year.
Maybe secret lure isn't the proper term. More so lure that flies under the radar or doesn't get much press or attention that you've had success with. Sorry for my poor wording.

I'm sorry but I'm fishing for money I might not fully give up the truth on what I was using. I was talking to a guy at the fishing show over the weekend and he told me that when he was catching them real good on a whopper plopper he would just say buzzbait. Ehh close enough.

Yes I think the pros use lures sometimes for years before they release the information to the public. Probably mainly what we are missing out on is more finesse stuff from Japan lol
If I told you I'd have to kill you.

No secret but my go to confidence bait that only a few people know about is an 1/8 shaky with a 4" magnum finesse

McDonalds french fry dipped in cocaine. Most people just assume it's a white trick worm. Once fish have had a taste thay get super angry and fight like you wouldn't believe. On a side note, I've been told mixing up your retrieve with a Keitech Crazy Flapper can be fruitful.

Big Carolina rigs for spawners. Finessing a bed fish is like a peeping tom in your window... Tolerable if you were busy. A big rig dragged through a bed is like a truck coming through your bedroom... You're gonna react fast, and so do the bass.

I haven't but I definitely should give a look into it. The bubbling shaker is just the absolute perfect worm for the clear waters i fish where drop shot is king. The way it kind of suspends and quivers is just insane, can't say enough good things about the whole lineup of shakers.

Ok this is kind of funny.. I believe in Asian language (it might just be Chinese or Japanese or some other) they do not use any L's in their language... I've constantly heard radios , TV shows and people speak without using L's when this (Asian) language is their first language.. like 'rove you' and "rifting weights " .. idk how true it is but the fact that it's bubbling shaker and you say it says on the package bubbring.. is more than coincidence it seems.

19lb smallie bag says otherwise. Sandy bottom, windy so the visibility was not awesome and they spawn deep up here (8-15'). We could see something down there. Fan casting all over and pop it back. Gulp gulp gulp.

It actually has something to do with the way the tongue and mouth move to pronounce words in certain languages that make it difficult to pronounce words in other languages. I saw someone talking about the different British accents and she mentioned that it was all about training the tongue to pronounce words in other languages properly.
@frosty yea that makes perfect sense. What I'm saying is they don't make the "L" sound because it's not in their language.

Simple...corn dog
Now some people throw it with the stick still in. I call those people amateurs. Nobody worth their salt throws a corn dog with the stick still in it. You have to remove the stick first. Also you shouldn't be throwing this on anything less than 100# flouro-braid. I use a 1/0 J-bend circle hook snelled. Match it with an ultra-light baitcasting rod with a Zebco 202 spincast and you have the best big fish catching set-up ever. There, I've told you my secrets now leave me alone and get off my lawn.
No mustard ? Weak..

Looks like a good walking bait .

Mustard, like salt not impregnated into the bait, washes off real quick. That is why I have engineered a corn dog with a mustard (and garlic) taste. It will be released at this years Icast show.

Your assumption is incorrect. Its more like a spybait without the prop which we all know is only there to get caught in the line so it doesn't work properly.

Do I also need a custom bass rod with this corn dog, or will I be ok with a regular bass rod?lol
In recent years the chatterbait was a technique that the pros won with and were still able to keep hidden for a couple years. Then there was the whopper plopper. Now I heard Ehler has someing new to do with a hair jig. Not sure if it's a new technique of a new jig style. Wish I knew, lol.

Not sure if it's a secret, but I did see a kid doing pretty good at a local pond and he actually was using gummy worms. He used em t-rigged and snacked a couple himself. I was impressed.
The bass on my home lake love the spook jr and these anise flavor worms made by Kelly, the hooks on them suck but they work very well on that lake when the bite is tough
Baby brush hog. In the top secret watermelon purple .
The true definition of a 'Secret' is something you tell one person at a time.
But telling one person a secret on Bass Resource, is telling 58,000 people at once.

For those who are interested, I can actually remember this being covered in a Linguistics class in college. It's a bit like how the letter "c" can form a "k" sound or an "s" sound, or "g" can sound like "g" or "j". In Korean and Japanese, one letter represents the "r" and "l" sounds, and it varies by context. That's a simplified explanation, but (a) it was a long time ago and I've forgotten most of the details, and (b) this is a fishing forum and you're not that interested.
It took me awhile, but I always assumed the name was because it had rings.
Super secret lure. Strike king 6xd, in a super rare hard to find sexy shad. Hehe. For real though if I had a secret lure it would be a Hinkle, phoney, or a much easier to find Lockhart lures chuckNspin
Mine would be the orange cream TRD that was tearing them up for me till I lost it. Well heck now that I think about it I gave that secret away on Twitter and Instagram lol. Now I have to wait for more to turn from pink, er bubblegum, to orange cream, so I can get back out there and toss em again.
The only secret I really have is tossing certain baits in areas that nobody is crazy enough to try.
Top secret lure , Jelly Worms . Forgotten by most anglers , still raking them in for me and the top secret color , blue .
The Producto Tournament Worm isn't talked about or fished much by most people outside of Florida.
It was one of my go to worms when I lived there.
I've had some recent tournament success with them here in Tennessee.
5/8oz Xcalibur one knocker in chrome/black. Caught probably 10 different species of fish on them. They work year round, any conditions.
Booyah is making these now, and I talked to a sales representative for them and he said they are making this color again, it just hasn't been released yet. It was discontinued for like 3 years and they are currently selling between 10 and 20 each on eBay. They're that good, trust me.
To put it in perspective, I caught like 90 something bass up to 6 pounds within 6 hours on this lure last year. I retired that lure bc the paint was completely eaten off and it was still catching fish.
