I need me one of these!!
I wonder how the hook ups would be considering the smaller hook gap from a regular frog.
Mother of god....I want one
I want one!!!!!! I saw it earlier today!!!!!! The bass in the pond I fish live off of sunfish!
~Kevin
OH HELL YEAH!
The bubbles!!
Looks great! I just hope it's better than the shad walker- the tail really got in the way of the hookups.
Definitely will buy though... I've been waiting for something like this for a long time- and I have never had a bad frog from LT. This should be really REALLY good!
I really need one, that thing will kill it where I fish
G,g,g,g,g,g,giant bass!!!!!!!
Thanks for sharing, I love fishing with gill!
Oh yes I want it. It is to pretty and to cool for me not to have it. Plus the trokar hooks on a frog style bait sound awesome.
This bait caught my attention. LiveTarget comes out with interesting top water stuff every few yrs.
Mercer is a very good salesman....

Senkolover, thanks for this post.
I thought ya'll would like it. I hope it's not too pricey, 'cause I'm picking one up, WAY too cool not to try.
very cool looking!
and ditto on the "good salesman"
I bet they will be around $11-$19
When do they come out?!

Great so its going to be like 10 months before I'm going to be able to use it.

It looks like the wait will be worth it...at least I hope so.
Please take my money!!!
That's great. Definite need. What rid what reel what line! ?
Holy smokes! That's an awesome bait!

My flat-ish lures dont cast very well.. this one looks to frustrate as well? I wonder.. if so it'll prob stay in the box more than not
I am in! Will try one for sure but not going to stock up on them until I form my own opinion.
Thanks for posting the video! They marketed the bait very well.
Ugh $13.50. That's more than a Jackall frog. I'm out; I lose too many Spro frogs to pike as is.
How cool is it? Ice cold
Beautiful. And with Trokar hooks, nice. Can't wait to give them more of my money . :eyebrows:
Yeah I'm definately down for this.
Yep im gonna need one of those beasts for sure
Finally! Can't wait, but in the mean time I ordered some Hudd Gills ROF 0,for this exact application, and it might be a little more versatile.
Most livetarget baits I've used have awful action, hopefully this one is better, cause it sure looks good.
God I want this bait I saw it a couple days ago and wow I can't believe something like this doesn't exist already. I love livetarget
Culprit had something similar a few years back. The finish looks much better on this one

I'm not a gigantic fan of their hard baits but their hollow frogs are great! The detail and function of them is first rate IMO. These are going to be awesome and a huge part of the heavy cover game if you're a frog fanatic like I am. Also the fact that they've gone trokar makes me feel like they didn't cut any corners and are putting their absolute best foot forward on this project.
I will likely clear a row in my frog box and get a half dozen or so. This is just too perfect. I've been waiting for this for a while and other options like the Picasso shad walker simply were poorly executed.
My only wish is that they went single center hook instead of double frog hooks (not really possible because of the tail though).

The concept is not new but I have been disappointed with fish-style frogs in the past. Really hoping these deliver!!!
Wow you guys are chomping at the bit to buy these things up. I must be the only one who isn't impressed by it in the slightest.
Holy moly I want one!
$13.50 Good thing I have 10 months to save up for it. Maybe I will start doing the lucky tackle box again. I got one of their hard body topwaters in it. It landed me a 34 inch muskie.
Its interesting. I wont buy one at full MSRP, that's for sure.On 7/15/2015 at 3:02 AM, rippin-lips said:Wow you guys are chomping at the bit to buy these things up. I must be the only one who isn't impressed by it in the slightest.

My sentiments exactly. The Culprit walks just like this one but it isn't the most weedless and the colors aren't that great. I have caught some nice fish on it though.

If pike did not exist, I'd have a bunch of $20 frogs. Can't light money on fire.
I'll be getting one. Only because Ive watched this scene (that it aims to imitate) play out in nature, and it makes total sense to me. But I would probably use it mostly in open water areas, and not throw it into the slop. I save the frogs for slop.
Probably gonna be a great bait...
HEY!!!! they just posted the colors on ***!!!! Lots of cool sunfish colors but I would like to see a perch and a crappie color. Also maybe a purple junbug. Sadly they are out NOV 12 so I wont be able to use them untill next year

The reality of the bait is in your avatar pic. I will get bit off by a blue heron on the very first cast. Then I will tie on another one and will get bit off by a pike. That's $27 gone in a couple minutes. My money is better spent at the bar. $27 will buy enough tequila to get the lonely girl at the end of the bar drunk enough to come home with me. I might catch an STD but at least I'd catch something.
This past Saturday I was motoring around, running 3-4mph, watching the side imaging when a heron swooped down out of nowhere and grabbed a fish literally 2ft off my bow. Not an ounce of fear in that bird. Scared the crap out of me....

They're on TW. Delivery expected "late winter". Colors are cool but not quite the variety I was expecting.
Yea, nothing like "50 shades" of bluegill!

In Field & Streams testing Trokar hooks didn't do so well. They tended to have point bend issues I recall.

going to definitely try this bait out
Need! When are they released?
Just doesn't excite me, but here y'all go.
I'd hang it from my rear view mirror though.

It's funny, because whenever I see a dying little sunfish on the surface, nothing will touch it. In sure it will get bit despite that. Hopefully it hooks up as well as their frogs.
Should. It has trokar hooks.

funny to me that they make that paint scheme look so realistic, but leave that big unpainted silver weight on the bottom side (side the bass will actually see)
seems they could paint it or something.... i know it won't make much of a difference, but still.
I will have to check and see if Field and Stream have it.
I can only think it would be cheaper to catch a sunfish and use it as bait i dunno.

The paint is to catch fishermen. The action is what will draw strikes. This is the perpetual frog conversation though.
Not bad. I'll bite and pick up a few.
A company called Picasso already has something very similar. Been around for a while.
I really like the idea, just not a huge fan of the colors. I'll probably get the midnight bluegill, but I want to see (and kinda suprised they don't have) an all black, an all white, a shad, and a baby bass color.

No, I am not either. I will say this...Koppers might be the best company at catching fisherman. You guys run right out and buy your $13 dollar fancy pants thingy, I'll just be over here catching fish on my stuff.

I bought 1 field mouse for $13. It filled with water after a few seconds and sank. They sent me 2 for free as replacements. 1/2 did the same thing. They collect dust in my topwater box. Snag proof frogs work great for me. Cheaper too!

i hear ya.... i'm just saying for the money they're charging seems they'd like powder coat that and try to match the color of the body at the very least... i'm no expert in bait making, just saying for the money....

I mentioned this on page one. That thing SUCKS. The tail is so thick and stiff I literally never was able to hook up using it despite a bunch of strikes. I stole it's hooks to upsize the ones in a lunker frog and used the body as an Xmas ornament. Definitely it's best use haha

Yup. I've had quite a few bass hammer it with a 0% hook-up ratio. Hopefully the LiveTarget is better.
I just think I can find a bait that can do that job at a lesser price, maybe not so much with a swimbait. For $4 on sale at DSG I got a bunch of Booyah Pad Crashers and Poppin Pad Crashers. IMO, they really don't look at a frog bait and say, hey, that's a frog! They look at it and say, hey, I can eat that! They see the colors, but they don't see a frog. Most frogs can imitate any number of things, including Bluegill. The Booyah frogs have great soft yet durable bodies, awesome colors, and premium hooks. I've never had a problem getting hook ups with them. No need to pay $13.50, when I can get the job done for 4 bones. On 7/15/2015 at 6:57 AM, Master Bait said:I better not tell you guys what the Deps and Evergreen frogs go for. X2. The sunfish looks cool, but I can't really think of any practical application for it. Given the choice, I'll take a spro frog any day.On 7/17/2015 at 10:19 AM, ww2farmer said:No, I am not either. I'm not saying go cheap, I'm saying go with good value. It's like working hard vs working smart and efficient. You can drive an overpriced car, or you can buy one that does the same thing with similar amenities for cheaper... But if you like to burn thousands of dollars for the fun of it, you can do just that.
I will admit that the price is on the steeper side, and as these baits make there way to the market we will see there effectiveness. Am I excited for this new bait ? Yes. However I have been down this road before with LiveTarget, and I was quickly disappointed. Although I really love the LT frogs, the LT mice was a big let down to me. Several have mentioned it already, and that is the intake of water. A few good hits from bass and this bait is going to start taking on water quick. The question for me now lies in which road is the new sunfish bait going to take? Is it going to be tough like the frog, or weak like the mouse? Time will tell.

When it comes down to the price of this bait. Imho those that can afford it will buy it, those that can't won't. When or "if" this bait performs and delivers on its effectiveness, the naysayers will secretly go purchase one, and those that have one will buy more. We have all seen this with other baits hundreds of times.

I get it, but I don't buy everything I can afford is my point. Sometimes, its worth passing up. If I find proof that this bait works (ie... I watch my fishing buddy catch fish on it in our local waters better than my frogs) than sure, I'll pick one up...
Like I said, I will try this bait, I like LT, but I have Hudd Gills that are on the way, and that I have now that can do this application, and are more versatile, but they're expensive. A cheaper alternate, almost the same profile is the Mann's Goliath Frog.

Those hooks don't look like they would work very well in that position...
Hope it's as good as it looks

I,like you, and the tester on YouTube thought the same thing, but after trials he came to the conclusion that it worked, with both hooks sinking in.
I couldn't disagree more about some of the comments stating the profile of a frog will be the same as the profile of this sunfish. Yes, bass do everything of instincts, but a profile, especially a detailed sunfish profile will trigger that instinct. And sure, there are a ton of baits out there that we can say......ehhhhhh....kind of looks like all the others. True the majority of the time. But this brings something different, especially if the hook up ratio is good.
And don't argue with me, because I just stated a fact.....it's science.
At this price, I think I'll wait for a few honest reviews from all you early adopters after you've had a chance to actually fish this thing.
