I think the Evoluzion C40 is going to be my limit, if I even get there. I'm very happy with the Orochi XX rods so far.

I just bought the Orochi EMTF and the Tour Versatile. I'm having a hard time trying to decide between the spinnerbait special and the flatside special as my next purchase though. Megabass is simply fantastic and I wish I would have bought some much sooner than I did.

Even if I could afford to fish such a nice rod, I think I'd hang it on the wall. Almost a grand, I don't think I could fish with it incase it got scratched. But it is a nice looking rod.

That thing is a piece of art......besides if I did have one and held on to it I can sell it on Ebay later for twice the price for someone willing to buy it, but not if it's scratched. That rod is as much as some people's house payment, or rent for a month. Just can't see spending that much money....maybe I could get it financed over a 2yr period...lol

I use all my gear. Some high end, some not. Scratches make them mine.
The only thing I'm not keen on is the carbon fiber handle. I'm thinking it will burn your hand off after sitting in the sun for some time on a boat deck.

Nah man its not that bad. I went fishing yesterday for almost ten hours and never even noticed the handle being warm or not on my rod with a woven carbon fiber handle. Plus it gets stickier when wet.

no they are not replaced. I still own a combined total of 23 Duckett's and a lot of them go fishing everytime I go. I just decided to try another brand that is 100% better than the Powell knock off's (Dobyn's). No offense toward Powell rod's they are fantastic, it is the knock-offs I hate. (Yes, I know but as long as Duckett is a white carrot stick the DOOBYN will be knock off powell max) Because of the fan boys mostly. I buy ton's of different rod's all of the time, Megabass just happen to be the only other one's I've loved besides the Duckett White Ice.

Does a $1000 rod make you a better fisherman. Where's the value, the benefit? I can spend $1000 on a graph that, providing I learn how to use it, will allow me the opportunity to catch more fish. I can spend $1000 on a shallow water anchor or a trolling motor which will keep my boat in position allowing me the opportunity to catch more fish. I can spend $1000 on Senkos which will allow me the opportunity to catch more fish 
Its just a fishing rod.

It's been talked about many times. Some people enjoy using nicer gear verse average gear. Some peoples idea of nice varies from others. Would I buy a $1,000 rod? The answer is no, but I wouldn't knock someone who would.

The benifit is it makes the man happy! The 'where is the benifit ' argument is really a bunch of crap! You are correct sir except that I see the value in those bells and whistles. If I were to purchase this rod it would be hanging in the man cave as a work of art. It's bad enough the way I treat the gear I already own, including the boat. They're tools. Boat gets washed once a year whether it needs it or not, rods get stepped on, I've had to fish combos out of the lake and continue using them without servicing them. I'm a tradesman and I own top of the line tools that help me do my job. There is a huge difference between a $65 drill and a $350 drill just as there is a huge difference between an Ugly Stick and a $200 rod. Once you hit that premium threshold, why would you spend more without added benefit?

A $1000 brings a new level to the "is it worth it game" of high end gear discussions, that's for sure. Only a few will ever have to toil over the decision of whether to buy it. If someone does, I expect a full review!

Its interesting to think of the concept of how many dollars we pay....per fish we catch.
Add up the approximate cost of all your gear, boat(s), rods/reels, lures, etc.....anything you actively use to catch fish....then divide by the approximate number of fish per year you catch. $5000 gear / 500 fish = $10 per fish per year. Add more gear, succumb to the baitmonkey, or reelweasel and boom, the price per fish goes up.
For some the cost isn't much, maybe less than $1 per fish.....for some, it's very expensive. I don't like to think about it, but I'm far to analytically motivated to ignore it. Sure there's the experience factor, and believe me, the quality time spent with loved ones and family can't be tabulated....but it's food for thought

Ferrari, Lambo, and Megabass to name a few aren't worried about you guy that won't spend money on their premium products. They are doing just fine. In the end it's a tool and some people like their tools to be a work of art both aesthetically and performance and are willing to pay a premium. 60k boats, 60k trucks, $4000 electronics, $4000 shallow anchors, $1500 trolling motors is a waste of money to many also. You guys should see the gun enthusiasts and how much they spend on some guns that they don't even use it to Hunt. I'm not hating on guys that are well off in life and likes expensive toys.

Though I was of the opinion that things were already over the top I will say this ranks up there fairly high in the over the top arena. Awesome looking rods. Ridiculous price but if you have the money and want to buy them who's to condemn you for that. I would say I was tempted but I'm saving for another boat so most of my money is going into that basket until I have enough. Also, I don't think I would ever buy one rod that was that expensive, just me.
