What would you guys say is your average five fish bag? I live in Colorado where the average largemouth is 1 - 2 pounds and a 3 - 4 pounder is a decent one, and anything over 5 is fairly few and far between. So in my limited selection, my average bag is probably 10 pounds and a great day is 20, but those are uncommon. Fifteen pounds deserves a congrats in our mediocre waters.
Next door in my part of nebraska an average 5 fish total for me would be about 15-18lbs... my buddy had two 6's two 5's and a 4 yesterday, about 28 total wich is AWESOME for us, caught several more in the 3 range. Lake rose about two feet the night before and caught them off rip rap very tight to the bank on senkos...funny thing is i caught one 6lber and he caught all the rest, same color and presentation...go figure
It depends on where I am fishing. The lakes around where I live get very heavy fishing pressure. A five fish bag may be 7 to 10 pounds on average. If I want to be sure to catch a big girl then I have to drive.
I don't believe I've ever caught 5 bass during one trip.
Depends.
The private pond close to my house: 6-7 pounds, 8 or 9 would be a good bag.
The pond a few minutes down the road: 10 pounds would be about average, maybe 12 on a good day.
Now, the private pond that my boss takes me to? There's a possibility for a twenty pound bag there. He caught a 5 1/2 pound bass last week. Can't wait to get back there.

Seems to be about the same here in Indiana, a fiver is a really good fish. Anything above that is almost unheard of. A few months ago a guy pulled out a 7lb-er from a well known reservoir here and it literally made the newspaper.
5 pounds.
10 on a good day.
all honest answers it looks like!!
i usually struggle to catch 5....
It depends. I feel like 5 fish is a great day here, and anything over 2 lbs is a big bass. Indiana ain't big bass country for sure
If you fish bass tournaments a 15 lb, 5 bass limit will get you a check most of the time, 20 lbs wins, with a few exceptions.

really depends where I'm at. I have a very lightly pressured body of water that can give up 18-20 just about any day, but most of the water around here is so pressured, I'd be happy to get out with 10-12 with single digits being the average for sure.
On guntersvill we normaly have a 20 pound bag , but on hartwell our bag will average 12 or 13 pounds.
10-14 pounds in my favourite pond with a 4-5 pounder being caught every now and again. In the the river though it's closer to 4 or 5 pounds total, redeyes are so small it's easier just to go by inches.
It depends up here. On the majority of lakes around me 15 lbs usually is top 3 in a club tournament. Sometimes winner will be a little more or a little less. However we have the Mississippi River not to far away and that can give up some big numbers in the upper teens. A few hours the other way is Sturgeon Bay/Green Bay/ Lake Michigan and from what I've heard you have to be pushing mid 20's out there to be in the money.
5 fish is a good day for me usually.. Multiple 2 pounders pretty common, any between 3-4 pounds are very nice in my frequented lakes.
Where I fish (SoCal) 10 lbs is pretty average, 15-20 is a really good day. In the winter I struggle to even catch 5 fish. Lol.
I fish the gila river in arizona so 13-18lbs. Is what ive gotten here. Average is 14. In michigan where im from 20lbs is pretty regular.
12-14 on average but 18 lb sack isn't unheard of

Seems like you have to catch at least 100 12-14"ers before you catch a fish that breaks the 3lb mark around here
I usually don't catch 5 bass but when I do they usually weigh 8-10 pounds. My average would probably be a lot bigger if I had a boat and could go out on Chequamegon Bay!
Luckily living in south Florida my 5 fish totals avg anywhere from 15-20 lbs. have a had a few days on certain lakes where that number has topped 30#. Although those are pretty exceptional days. The Everglades tourneys I read about consistently have 25# plus bags as their winners.
My average, I would estimate, is somewhere around 11lb. although there were more than a few tourneys that I never brought five to the scales.
Depends on the lake and the situation.
Fun fishing on Silver lake my yearly average for "best 5" from ice out till ice up is probably 15lbs. Lots of days where my best five is in the upper teens , and lots of days where they are in the low teens, with a handful on either side where I have done terrible or knocked it out of the park with 20+.
During tournaments, it's a whole different game, for many reasons, but over the years I'd say 13lbs is about average, some days it's good enough for cashing or even a win, and some days it's a "thanks for playing" donation. I don't feel comfortable without at least having 15lbs, but oddly enough the last two wins I have there have been with 14lbs and change.
On Conesus, I seem to catch an 18-20+lb bag fun fishing more times than not, but again in tournaments, with more boats on the water, and more spots being combed over, that kind of weight has not been the norm for me. However, many of the tournaments I have fished there have been during rather slow bites, and have finished in the money with weights that range from as low as 12lbs, to as much as 18lbs...........I have only been there once for a tournament during one of Conesus's legendary hog fest's, but that was for a Tuesday nighter/3 fish limit deal, and we held our own and beat some of the heavy hitters, but still fell short of the money.
Same depends on which body of water I am fishing.
If my local waters, I struggle to get 5 because it is so pressured. I'd say 8-10 lb would be average and 15 lb would be excellent.
If I'm fishing the waters further away I'd say 5 fish limit isn't that difficult and I'd catch 15lb on average. Good day would be 20+ lbs.
Oh and I'd like to add that in this small community pond where the avg fish is 1lb, I'd get a 5 fish limit in 30 minutes. I use this pond to practice techniques. It's fun to see everyone there get amazed when I pull up fish after fish and ask me what I'm using! Drop shot and a jig is deadly there. So 5lb bag is easy here, you can get the odd 3-4 lbers here but very rare.
On the days I actually catch 5 keepers my bag would probably be 8-12 lbs on average at the lake fish regularly.
On the St. Lawrence River it is not uncommon to catch 20lbs or over. I would say to get a top 10 you better have over 18lbs. To win, you would need over 20 on average. One morning I was out and within 30 minutes I had just over 20lbs of small mouth.

I think the question is on YOUR average day.
The average day is around 18-19 lbs. Sorry!
In the ponds I fished (we went through 5 years of severe drought) a limit was almost assured. I'd say on average it would weigh 12 lbs. Have had a few 15 lb days this year, but recently not so good.
Were I live it's hard to even get a limit with the bad drought conditions and only being able to shore fish.
On Erie a very average day would be 15 lbs post spawn.
Me in my area, or people who know how to fish in my area? Makes all the difference!
If!! I catch 5 in a day probly be around 10 lbs. Good day would be 15.

Northern Cali being one of those exceptions 6 of the 8 events I fished this year took over 30lbs to win.
I weighed 20 and change this weekend for 4th though, go figured 30lbs won it yet again.

The only time I get more than 25 pounds to the boat, is when my wife falls in the water
For me generally about 12-15# on ponds. I know one pond that is in a gated neighborhood that has a 3# average and a fish on almost every cast. I only get to go to this pond every once and a while though.
Here in northern Utah like 7. Southern Utah much more
I'd guess probably around 10 pounds but depends on the lake.
An average size bag of green bass for me is probably something near 10 lbs.
Interestingly enough an average Brown bass bag run about 12 lbs
An average mixed bag usually runs close to the one of those as well.
btw ~ the "it depends" is routinely figured INTO "the average" and not presented separately.

Last Saturday I got my biggest limit ever that wieghed 12-13 pounds. It did include my PB that whieghed 4 pounds. All of the fish were caught on Stik-Os.
