Finally my time has come. My PB 2024

fishing user avatarBass_Fishing_Socal reply :

This morning I had plan to do a lot of jerking, hard jerk, soft jerk you name it. We gotta have some fun with jerking once a while, right? ? You know what I mean. LOL

So last night I prepared 3 set ups with all my hard jerk bait(LC pointer, Ima, husky jerk and storm twisted stick as well as all fluke and other soft plastic jerk bait.

Got to the lake, it is cloudy day and pretty cold so I switched to whopper plopper on one of the rod instead. Walk around for good 30 mins with no bite then switched back to jerk bait as plan. Tried both LC and Ima with no luck, looked at my last rod with husky jerk tied on and talked to myself if this one doesn't work, I'll give up. Within a few casts I got a pretty soft bite, set hook and reel in. The fish doesn't look big at all until I lip her up and there my PB 5.8 lbs fatty fish. Fish there for another hour for nada.

Nice job James.

Husky jerk is good small and compact and the best part is CHEAP, but the action and suspended rate is not very good(not so slow rise) mine is 08 size 1/4oz. I have to add a bit of weight on front hook for this one.

May be not a pound but 1/2 lb plus 3.2 oz on gripper so 5 lb 13 oz - 8 oz - 3.2 oz = 5 lb 1.8 oz still a PB HOORAY!!!!!

Get some lead tape James... Storm calls it suspenstrips or suspendots. Then you can keep the hooks. Very manageable stuff .
