5.45 pounds just caught last week on a chatter bait. Didn't have time to measure wanted to get her back in as fast as possible. Prespawn
Length: 22"
Weight: 5.5 (old school spring scale - could be off)
Season: Tail end of spawn would be my guess
When: May 25, 2014
Where: Clare, MI (creek run off from Bailey Lake)
Lure: Orange BlueFox Vibrax inline spinner w/ White Squirrel Tail.
Threw it up on the road culvert and inched it back until it dropped into the creek. BAM! Fight on!
I don't have a pic on the device i am using (ipad) but i my profile pic is its tail.
Length: 24in
Weight: 7lbs or so (didnt have scale so just guessing)
Gear: 1/16oz Beetle Bou Jig (5' ugly stick spincast combo XD)
Date: April 8 (coming up on 1yr anniversary)
Location: My neighborhood pond here in FL that i still fish at.
Largemouth Bass
Length: Unknown
Weight: 7lbs 8oz (digital scales)
Season: Spring, spawn
When: April 26, 2014
Where: Private coal strip pit in IN (~8 acres)
Lure: 3/8oz. Dirty Jigs Skirted Football Jig (Black & Blue) with a Zoom Ultravibe Speedcraw
Gear: 7' Falcon Cara T7 CC-7-170, Abu Garcia MGX 7.9:1, 15lb. Seaguar Invizx Fluorocarbon
A decent trophy for IN. I'm fairly certain there might be bigger gals lurking in this pit or another that I fish. I was fishing with a buddy and was trying to catch the male, who was on the bed on a rocky flat about 2 feet from a steep breakline. I cast short of the bed to see how aggressive the male was and let the jig continue to fall past the break when he didn't budge. She was waiting down about 6-8 feet deeper. Weighed her and turned her loose to let her finish making more babies and hopefully keeping her fine gene pool intact.
Of note, the 6lb 12oz bass in my profile pic was caught the year before on the same bait, not 2 full casts away from where I caught this one (just past the dark pine tree over my left shoulder - right side of the pic). This was one of the best days I ever had fishing in IN - our best 4 weighed 20lbs 1oz total. The other would be when I caught the 6-12; not an hour later I stuck a 6-4. All were caught in April.
Yeah, Chris' (ski) pig probably might have been able to eat this one. Jesus, dude. What a slobby fat girl. Well done, my friend.
Smallmouth Bass
Length: Unknown
Weight: Unknown - Catch, Photo & Immediate Release (I'm guessing over 5 - guide & Z-train pal Gerry G estimated it between 5 & 6)
Season: Spring, prespawn
When: April 29, 2012
Where: Lake St. Clair, MI
Lure: 1/4oz. Lipless Crankbait
Best single day of fishing in my life - opening day for MI catch & release smallmouth in 2012. Sub-50° temps, 10+ mph winds and 4 foot rollers on the main lake didn't stop our guide from getting us on the fish. He got us across the lake and into a wind-protected bay and on the fish in less than an hour. We caught over 70 brutes - all 2.5 to 5+ lbs in less than 8 hours of fishing. IMO, the smallmouth in the GL systems are a breed all their own - Z-train doesn't lie. You just don't get it until you have one in front of you and see the build on them - thick, nasty slobs that want to make you cry.
LSC is a bucket list trip for any avid smallmouth fisherman, IMO. With that said, unless you're experienced on the Great Lakes systems or other big waters that can get rough & dangerous in a hurry, I'd strongly recommend a guide for a first trip (message me if you want a name - he's been on TV many times with popular hosts and the dude is worth every penny IMO). Size of lake & unpredictable weather (wind/waves) can make things tough & possibly dangerous.
And well done to everyone else as well - PBs are something of which to be proud.
nice one!

Thanks dude. Nothing compared to what you folks have in your neck of the woods though.
I remember the "Get in the boat Bobby" commercial - a classic!
You all are making me jealous I thought mine was big in the north This is my 5.09 pounder, 21.5 inches
My super skinny PB that went 10lb 2oz on the digital but probably would have been 13-14 if she wasn't on a diet. Lake Commendero, MX on a watermelon seed Zoom Magnum lizard.
My PB for my home state of Kansas 7lb 14oz. Caught it at an undisclosed state lake on a red shad YUM Wooly Hawg.
I've tied my PB smallmouth 3 times now from 2 different lakes with fish that all went 5 pounds on the nose. This was the most recent one that ate a tiny American Shad colored Lucky Craft Zero squarebill.
Dandy DD & nice smalljaw, blue.

October 2014, 7lbs 1 oz. Conesus Lake. Caught on a homemade 1 oz flipping jig w/Havoc pit boss trailer, pitched into a small isolated deep grass bed in 18' FOW that I could only see on my graph.
August 2013, 6lbs 12oz. Silver Lake (one of two fish that I have caught that same exact weight on Silver). This one was caught during one of my 3 hour, 3 fish Thursday evening tournaments. Took lunker, and helped wnybassman and I win the tournament with 13.69 lb for our 3 fish limit. Caught in about 10 FOW on a 5" green pumpkin wacky rigged yum dinger on a 1/16th oz. wacky jig head................I am more "proud" of this one than the 7lber. 7lber's are not all that rare, but also not common on Conesus, every year at least one or two get weighed in in tournaments. I have fished tournaments for over 10 years now on Silver, and not once in those 10 years..............either before, or after I caught that 6-12, has one bigger came across my scales, or any other tournaments that I don't run the scales...............I keep tabs LOL. Some day one will...............I just hope it's me that does it again.

Heh heh...Jeff, I don't know why, but I got a chuckle over this. Thanks for the kind words.
That King in terms of how Kings go isn't really "big" (as they shake ones that small off in Alaska), but being an Eastern King caught on a fly rod my wife had Scott (a.k.a. SHFishinSticks) make me as a 40th Birthday gift really added to the sentiment of the catch (and I think the pictured turned out ok. I tried posing like one of those hard core fly guys).
The cork work on that fly rod is out of this world as well!! Scott is the man!

Not sure. I just lifted her out of the water for a picture, taped her in the water, and off she went. If I had to estimate, I would say around 15 to 16 pounds. My wife caught one trolling when we were fishing the main lake a few years back that was 37 inches long, which weighed 20lb. 8oz. (so I think 15 pounds for that one is a safe guess). Again, not a huge fish, but catching it with a fly I tied (and I suck at fly tying) on a rod my buddy Scott made as a request by my wife as a birthday gift, while fishing with a life long friend really made it a special catch in my fishing life.

Next time around Mazatlan try the bill fishing, we got our PB there, (Pacific sail and Blue Marlin), After Hawaii, Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Mauritius, Gulf and Atlantic.
23" smallmouth did not get the weight, scale was missing, but she measured an even 23" I know Shame on the straight arm. Still Biggest Bass I ever caught. My guess is was an easy 5lbs + as I have caught and weighed plenty of smallies in the high 4`s With this guy blowing them all away.
