If this is a bass I caught my biggest and smallest bass ever in a 2 month span. One of my private ponds I noticed a clump of fry swimming around near the bank so I reached with a tiny net and caught some of them.
Fantastic ! It's a lot smaller than my PB.
And here I was bragging about my pbsb yesterday
I've caught some pretty tiny runts over the years, but you're PB has got me beat
Anglers are known for puffing the goods, now we will find out if this is a bidirectional tendency

Don't count if netted
What a hog!
LOOK at that belly, she's full of eggs.LOL
Bass? Or just any fish?
Not the smallest bass but one of the smallest smallmouth I've ever caught. Little guy slammed the bait. That's a massive KVD 1.0 (2" 1/4oz) crankbait that he decided to try to tackle.
Had a pretty similar sized one knock the fire out of a 78 pointer on the same lake a couple years before.

The fish in this thread make my smallest bass look like a lunker. This was caught last summer in a local pond on a 1/16 oz Rapala floating minnow.
Here it is!
I vote that netting doesn't count, since it wouldn't count for largest PB if you just scooped her up with a net.
I would also suggest that all candidates need to be no more than 150% of the length than the lure they were caught on. This means that most entrants would be caught on crankbaits & topwaters, but I did snag a LM smaller than a football jig once. I can only imagine that he pecked the head of the jig & then didn't get out of the way when I set the hook.
Bit blurry picture, but here is mine
Mexican bass with an attitude.
Look at my avatar, that's pretty small. That's a Sexy Dawg Jr. she hit. Pretty aggressive little bass.
Dwight, that picture is hilarious.

Cool pictures Guys! I don't have one... But, I caught a 4" FLMB on a 6" golden shiner in the St. John's river... No hook needed. It ( shiner) was stuck in the basses mouth... I couldn't believe it...
Not my smallest, but smallest with a pic!
Jeff
Guys if they are foul hooked it isn't official! hahaha
Not a bass, but one of his cousins with the same "I bet I can eat it" attitude.
4" Senko & a 4" fish

That's what I call a gutsy hookset...
Yeah, I felt bad about it, but in typical Rock Bass fashion, he swam away like nothing much happened when I released him. I half expected to see a bass swim up and inhale him as he made his way back to the shoreline cover.
Fishing for catfish bait a couple days ago when I caught this prize winner! That's shorten 2" grub on a 1/80th ounce jighead for scale
I have to add mine to this thread. I caught this little guy on a Rapala DT4. The DT4 was 15-20x bigger than this bass. It was hooked through the lip (no clue how this happened) and was successfully release. By far the smallest fish I have ever caught. Enjoy!

Wow, that's tiny look at that lateral line...
Great pics, cool thread...

Not my smallest, but smallest on film.
Come on, people. Show some respect for the fish. Hold them vertically or horizontally with both hands.

lol or put them in a little plastic bag with water like goldfish at the fair....
I actually have a lot of respect for little fish like this. Any bass that has the huevos to try to eat something his own size deserves our care. I want that fish breeding in the future.

I agree with respecting all fish, no matter the size.
I didn't even know he was on there. I don't know what possessed him to even try for it...
First ever fish on the fly. It's a start, right?

I think I tied that yesterday, also on a Rapala lure (X-Rap). This guy was such a stud that he didn't bother nipping at the rear feathered hook, he went straight for the middle of the bait.

I see what ya'll doing, trying to hide the fact that you caught a double digit Mexican slaunch of a largemouth on the next cast
Probably not my smallest, but this is the most recent one on film. Caught on a 5 inch grub and 1/4 oz ball head jig.
